GEC Granville Suites

The location is really good though it might seem a bit seedy at the beginning but we felt really safe. There are many taxis usually outside the hotel, and the hop on hop off bus stops near the hotel. You leave the hotel, turn right and then left, 10 minute walk and you are in the heart of the town. Leave the hotel, turn right and then right again and you are on your way to beautiful Granville, actually one of my favorite areas in Vancouver. The staff is very helpful with directions. Breakfast is in White Spot, a Canadian version of Denny’s perhaps a bit more upscale. They have very good choices on the menu, or you can have breakfast in one the restaurants nearby, and there are many.
I would stay again in the hotel for the comfort and the location.

Beautiful rooms and facilities in this totally redone hotel. The roof top gardens are a treat and so is the fully appointed kitchen too. Great service and tips on how and where to see the sites. I’d go there again in a flash.

The hotel itself isn’t really that fancy, but for the price in downtown Vancouver, its not that awful. The elevator takes an engineering degree to figure out because sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not Then, sometimes you don’t need your room key, sometimes you do. At least in my case it did 🙂 The room was adequate, nothing too fancy. The bed was comfortable and fairly large. The one area that could really be improved, but would be hard to figure out is parking. When you arrive for check-in, trying to find somewhere to park is the wildest adventure. I ended up looping around the block like 8 times because they have no available street parking, usually. They also don’t have anywhere to park near the front. I eventually just watched a taxi pull up on the sidewalk to the front door to let someone out. I followed suit and just parked up on the sidewalk ramp, checked-in, was given the parking garage key, and went from there.

They were doing some renovations when we stayed here in May 2017. Since the workout room was impacted we received passes to work out at the steve nash gym’s. We appreciated the accommodation. We had a newly renovated room and it was nicely laid out. The service at the hotel was great. Everyone was helpful when we asked for assistance. The location of the hotel was perfect and we would recommend staying here.

My family rented two rooms here for a recent stay in Vancouver, and would definitely stay here again. The staff was very helpful and professional, specifically they assisted us on multiple occasions with directions for transit to multiple locations, saving us time and money. The rooms themselves were wonderful, clean and spacious. I understand that new mattresses were put in recently as part of a renovation and they were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the fitness area was under renovation during our stay so I can not review it.
The location of the hotel is ideal. It is a 10 minute walk from multiple locations worth seeing, including Canada Place and Gastown, and is central to the rest of Vancouver with good transit options.
We were lucky enough to have a discounted rate, as I believe the regular rates would likely have been out of our budget, but after staying there, I can see the difference in quality in comparison to cheaper hotels.

We stayed here for 5 nights prior to a cruise. Had a big room on 29th floor. Views were great. Room very clean with 2 big beds. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Very handy having toaster and microwave which meant we could get out quickly in the mornings. Location is great. About 20 minute walk straight down to cruise terminal. Lots of restaurants bars shops nearby. Didn’t have time to use the pool or gym. Would definitely recommend this hotel

We had a suite for two nights on 19th floor which had fantastic views over the city but was relatively quiet. We thought the location was ideally placed for reaching all the sights. The service and amenities were good.

We liked the hotel, we had a one bed suite and for 4 nights pre cruise when we didn’t want to eat too much it meant we could have breakfast and lunch/dinner in or out. Our room was one of the refurbed ones and was nice enough for the money. The supermarket was just 2 blocks away and we could walk to Sunset beach,Canada place and the Granville ferry easily enough. Not a full oven though if you really want to stay longer, but we had our own secure wifi for the room.

Blue Horizon Hotel Vancouver

We stayed at the Blue Horizon for three days last week. We had a family suite on the 29th floor which was perfect for travelling with teens. They slept on a daybed and pullout sofa and had their own bathroom, but we were all ‘together’. Fabulous balcony and gorgeous view (but no chairs on the balcony which was a little disappointing). The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms on this floor were newly renovated. Mini frig and coffee maker in the room, ice on the hall. There is a restaurant in the building – they don’t do room service but will make food To Go that you can take to your room. The hotel is very conveniently located. A walk to Spokes where you get a discount to rent bikes to ride around Stanley Park and visit the Aquarium. A short ride to the Whale Watching on Granville Island – and a water taxi home. Convenient to lots of shopping and restaurants. We did not have great wifi in the room, but we were seldom there (and maybe it kept our kids off their devices!)
There is a small pool, hot tub, and very small gym as well – perfectly fine if you are busy with sightseeing. Two computers in the lobby for printing out your boarding passes. Helpful front desk staff.

Everything is excellent about this hotel, the location, the room, the parking, the service. We are so hapy we choosed it.
We can walk everywhere as it close to shopping, foods and good public transportation.

Perfect location with lots of shopping and restaurants in walking distance on Robson and others in the downtown area. Short cab ride to the cruise ship on day of departure. Spacious and well appointed rooms. Loved it!

Ramada Downtown Vancouver Granville

Whilst this hotel is “downtown”, it’s not in the nicest of areas. If you get a room Granville side you may as well sleep in the street as the sound proofing is poor. Aircon is good but the unit is enormous, old and noisy. Overall the hotel needs modernising and a facelift.

We checked in around 9:00pm on a Thursday night for a two night stay. First night we got to the room to go to bed after traveling all day and found that the sheets had not been changed on the bed. Sheets were wrinkled and there was black fuzz on the bed from someone’s sox. I was too tired to complain and had the sheets changed the next morning.

THEN, about 9:00pm on Friday night a DJ started playing at the club next door. Our room literally rattled until 2:00am. I travel a lot and this was literally one of the worst hotel stays ever.

The staff was courteous, but basically helpless about these problems

Chose this hotel due to its proximity to the port (Canada Place). Rooms were decent sized, clean, had the standard amenities, but quite dated. Wifi service was complimentary and pretty strong. Breakfast was non-descript and the breakfast area sad looking. Coffee was your usual watered down coffee. At least they had bagels and cream cheese Location was okay, near enough the port

The staff though were quite helpful with our luggage and hailing taxi cabs.

Park Inn and Suites Vancouver

The hotel was fine; a little dated and they were doing work out the front. The check in was a little challenging with the gentleman we spoke to seemingly having a hard time understanding us (we’re Australian, but 20 years in US).

Room was okay, they charged us for something following the visit but have not advised us for what.

was a good stay, nice to to have interwebs and cool tv channels. The minifridge fit enough beer to drop a donkey. I think i lost my hoodie somewhere but i can’t remember, fear and loathing at park inn. I have said too much already.

For a clean, friendly, central, hotel consider the Park Inn. Everything you need for a restful stay in central Vancouver without a giant price tag. Close to great restaurants and coffee shops, and a 24 hour Shoppers Drug Mart directly across the street.

This very nice hotel offers a medical discount which was very much appreciated since I had to pay my own way while having a medical procedure done at the hospital. I reside in the Yukon and was new to the city. Found the hotel to be extremely convenient to the hospital and an easy walk to the Sky Train station for transport to and from the Airport.

Lord Stanley Suites On The Park

We arrived in Vancouver to discover our room (penthouse) was much smaller than advertised. The website claims freshly renovated (my question would be when?) The living room is so small that two people fill it completely. The television didn’t work for the first night and wasn’t reported to the day staff. The toilet backed up and the staff were unable to locate a plunger. At least the person on the front desk suggested Safeway to get one at 10.30pm. The kitchen lights didn’t work without turning the ceiling fan on. No milk or tea bags, no customer service by the man on the desk on our arrival. He doesn’t know how to problem solve. The master room (laughing) no ceiling fan and due to the room being 70% glass it was very hot. Then a disappointing breakfast where nothing was explained and to an Australian you just don’t help yourself to the fridge or cupboards but this was expected here. The is a shower curtain in the bath made the shower a very closed in space and a funny grey mold on the tiles doesn’t say freshly renovated.
The vertical blinds did nothing to keep the light or the heat out of both the main room and the strange glassed in patio. All in all the hotels saving grace was the location and Sunday onwards staff. I would not say this is value for money. I hope our other hotels are not as disappointing this one during our stay in Canada.

My family booked an one bedroom unit here for 4 nights. Great location so close to Stanley park, restaurants and boat harbour. We were lucky to be on the Harbour side so had great views ( we go to see the view from the other side of the building when we had a plumbing issue and had to spend a night in another unit while the issue was resolved), The unit was too small for four adults but as we were only there 4 nigh were weren’t able to book a 2 bed unit which was very disappointing.
Staff were very helpful and able to come up with a suitable solution to a plumbing issue that arose in the unit.

Deluxe King Suite: the master bedroom and bath were fine BUT the twin room was so tiny you had to climb a bed to get to the closet. There was barely any walking space. The window was jammed and the room was terribly stuffy. The light switches did not work and we even had to plug in some of the lamp ourselves and turn them on at the bases. The idea of two bathrooms was great, but the one off the dining area set off a blaring smoke alarm from steam, even when the door was closed. We had to constantly ask for towels since they did not provide wash cloths unless we asked. Parking was tight for the mini-van. Got stuck in hotel when keys got deactivated by mistake- you need them to use elevator or get to parking. Shuttle drops off only. Loud street noise due to paper thin windows which to not open. Location for walking was good, Breakfast and breakfast room staff was the best feature but they are discontinuing it. Pool area is shared with Marriott and is very humid, hot and the pool is high in chlorine. We had to ask them to clean better – the paper towel I used to wipe up water from a spill was black when I was done. The common living area was OK with very limited TV options. Overall disappointing.
Overall we were very pleased with our stay here. The rooms are very big – two bedrooms, lounge area, kitchenette and enclosed balcony with table and chairs. The beds are very comfortable, plenty of pillows, towels etc. We were on the 15th floor and even though there was some street noise there was very little noise from other guests. I would guess that rooms on the lower floors could suffer quite a bit with street noise though. The free breakfast (which is being discontinued in 2018) was limited but pastries were of a good standard. I would suggest popping down and getting the breakfast to eat in your room as the seating area is small and cramped. The decor is quite dated and tired but generally clean and tidy. For the price paid and the size of the room I would say this is a great base for a family holiday.
Stayed here for one night as we were transiting through Vancouver on our way to Victoria. Wanted a place that was convenient and could easily accommodate 5 people. The Landis hit the spot. We had a two bedroom room. The larger room had a king size bed with en suite. The second bedroom had a queen bed. There was another bathroom/toilet, a well stocked galley kitchen with large fridge, dining table for four, 2 seater sofa plus a single couch, and a small enclosed balcony/sunroom. Plenty of space for the 5 of us. We used the sofa bed and that was comfortable and not springy or noisy. Each room had its own tv. The room was clean and we had no issues with housekeeping. The hotel is in an excellent spot and many attractions can be reached by walking. We walked to Granville island from the hotel and it took us around 15 mins over the bridge to the island. The hotel did offer breakfast although we did take it up. There was a notice saying that they will discontinue this service though. The pool and gym area was fantastic. The pool was a great size and good for a doing a few laps in the morning. The hotel is next to the Marriot suites and it looks like they share the pool and gym area. There was parking available down below and were charged around $20 for the night. When you first walk into the lobby you get a sinking feeling as it is dated and the man behind the small counter is not the very sociable. However, the suite was great and did not disappoint. We were on the 3rd floor and it did get a little loud if we had the windows open from the Friday night street traffic, so perhaps getting a higher floor might help. The hotel was great and allowed us late check out at 12pm and even gave us a card so that we could leave the car there for longer and we got the car around 3pm.

Hampton Inn Vancouver

Excellent rooms, extremely helpful staff, great location in town. This place was outstanding for the price, location, and experience. We would definitely stay here again at the drop of a dime. Grade A treatment from everyone.

we had a corner room–the view of the city at night was beautiful..the front desk staff was very helpful in suggesting how to get around the city and what attractions we could walk to from this location

There was confusion due to communication at the time of reservation regarding use of “Be My Guest” certificate. Staff at the hotel and Hilton Honors staff each went beyond the usual business practice to solve the problem and make my stay there a pleasure in every respect, which was much needed following a week of travel. Could not be more pleased or impressed at the helpful attitude and service.

Stayed here one night and enjoyed it. friendly professional staff, nice clean rooms, nice business room with computers, printers etc. nice lobby, pool etc. Elevators could be quicker. Didn’t care for the parking fee & the fact that every time you use the elevator you need to swipe (although I can understand the reasoning behind it). Otherwise, no complaints!
