Ramada Downtown Vancouver Granville

This hotel is barely downtown it’s not walking distance to anything. It’s on Granville which I have now learned is a very dirty and unsafe street full of drifters, drug addicts, prostitutes and bars. There is a bar right beside the hotel that keeps their music cranked until 330 in the morning so don’t count on getting any sleep. When I stayed here the fire alarm was also broken and went off 3 times through the night. They charge $18 extra for valet parking as their parking lot is a complete joke and only fits about 20 cars. There are lots less than a block away that charge half or less the amount they do for parking. When we arrived the front of the hotel smelled like urine as someone had urinated on the street directly outside the front door. This is not a part of town to bring your kids. The free breakfast is at the bar beside the hotel, a run down hole with terrible staff. You can have eggs or pancakes. Toast with no butter and serve yourself warm tap water to drink. DO NOT touch the fruit or juice!

Just your regular downtown hotel. Nothing fancy but clean and friendly service. Close to the city center, no car or transportation needed. Valet parking $18,45 a day which is normal for Vancouver. Rooms okay air conditioning etc. Breakfast not included but possible at $10.

The hotel is shabby and not in the best part of downtown. The club next door is loud and has a crazy vibe. There are quite a few homeless people around. Gas town and the waterfront aren’t really in walking distance.

Park Inn and Suites Vancouver

I stayed at the Park Inn and Suites by Radisson for two nights in July for work. The hotel is not your typical Radisson, which I feel is great for business travel. This hotel is a bit old, but clean. It’s located in a great spot in terms of being accessible to lots around Vancouver. You can walk a few blocks to the Storm Crow Tavern, too!

Spent 3 nights here on our first visit to Vancouver & Canada. Easy to find, short walk to Sky train into the centre. Very nice short walk to Charleson park & Granville Island. Plenty of restaurants nearby. All the staff were very helpful, without exception. Spotless double room, well supplied with towels toiletries , tea & coffee. Small balcony & air conditioning. Optional breakfast (not included) but good value. If you get a room at the front you will be treated to fabulous views of Vancouver.
Sadly we were at the back! But maybe this was quieter, our room wasn’t above the main road.We would be happy to return.

great location service was excellent rooms were clean and inviting loved the mini kitchen i stayed for medical reasons the rates were by far the lowest will stay there again and recommend to others as i was at my appointments many people spoke highly of the Park Inn for long term stays

My family rented an apartment in this building for two nights. The moment we opened the door, we realized that the pictures were taken at angles that made the room look much bigger than it was. We had a one bedroom place on the 5th floor and it was so small. For a couple without kids, it would have been fine for space. We ended up putting one of our kids in the main bedroom, the other one in the weird little office room that you could barely turn around in, and then we slept on the hide-a-bed.

Because we faced a busy street, we could hear traffic noise all night, especially on the weekend. It kept us up a bit.

Overall, the amenities were fine. The kitchen had everything we needed. The laundry was good. The view was nice. But as a family, we were on top of each other the entire time. There is a small glassed in little patio that seemed like a complete waste of space but my kids enjoyed using it as a dining room and play area.

The hotel staff were great and very friendly. And you can’t beat the location. It’s right across the street from Stanley Park, which is exactly where we wanted to be and was very convenient for us. It’s also right off Denman, which has lots of restaurants, coffee shops, etc.

The biggest complaint I have isn’t the space or traffic noise. It was the condition of the room. And from reading other reviews, it seems to be a common theme – they are really run down. Major dents and scratches on the walls. Old carpet. Stained furniture. Vertical blinds that didn’t cover the windows very well and let in a ton of light. A portable air conditioner just in one room. Very outdated bathroom with old tiles and strangely stained grout.

It was disappointing, especially for the price we paid. But then again, we were clearly paying for location.

Would we stay here again, even if it was just two of us? Probably not unless we got an incredible deal. Next time, I think we will try one of the other locations around there and see what they have to offer. Maybe all locations around the park are like this but can charge a premium. But I think we will take that chance and see.

We we looking for an executive apartment hotel for a week near Stanley Park. While searching, this place came up…must say that I was dubious at first, for we had never heard of it. The reviews on TA were good, and the hotel met all of our criteria. Well let me tel you that the hotel surpassed our expectations. Firstly, the hotel staff is courteous and extremely helpful. Secondly, the hotel is spotless and rooms, whilst a little tired, are clean, comfortable and well appointed and quiet. Thirdly, the hotel is central to everything, and if need be, the bus routes are a 3 min walk from the hotel. The rooms are cleaned daily, toiletries replenished, towels exchanged and laundry soap replenished everyday – yes there is an en-suite washer and dryer. The is free wifi and parking. There is also a gym and a pool (though we didn’t use them). ***insider tip: if you book directly through the hotel website, your breakfast is included for all room guests***. Lucky that we booked that way. We were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. Highly recommended for families, couples and business travellers. We will return. Great value for money

Our family stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. We stayed in three different rooms and all rooms were clean and well equipped. The rooms are enormous and the views were nice. It is located near lots of restaurants. They are discontinuing the continental breakfast which is fine – the delicious Tim Horton’s is right across the street. We used the shuttle to the cruise port – they were right on time, helpful with luggage and friendly. We had several questions and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The workout facility was well equipped and the kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. This hotel is a great deal!!!
Stayed here 2 nights prior to cruise to check out Vancouver. Hotel is in safe area of town. Walking distance to food places & areas check out & see the sites. Our hotel room, 1624, was clean and tidy for 6. Breakfast was all mostly carb based, muffins bread, croissants, bagels and some cereal & juices. The almond croissants are Amazing!!!!!!!! I took some each day for eating as a snack later in the day. I will miss them the most. Pool was good sized. Workout equipment all worked. Would stay here again.
Loved the location and room itself, although housekeeping was mediocre. Room was dusty, fridge had had a previous spill in it which wasn’t wiped out and left door sticky. Little enclosed sunroom provided beautiful view of city, once we cleaned the windows ourselves. Three pillows weren’t cased, and many drawers were dusty and had hairs in them. Front desk staff were stiff and standoffish, at one point telling my daughter and friends, who were taking the shuttle, that the place they wanted to go didn’t exist (it did, which they proved to him on the map) The shuttle driver we had on Monday and Tuesday was amazing. Incredibly friendly and helpful. The street noise Saturday night was a little loud, even 14 floors up, but that was to be expected on a weekend. The rest of the nights were quiet.
Overall, we enjoyed the spacious room and great location of hotel. Amenities were good, pool was always stocked and clean. Would stay again.

Hampton Inn Vancouver

LOCATION: This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, a block from BC Place stadium.

GETTING THERE: If driving, take route 1A to Beatty Street and take a right. The hotel is two blocks down Beatty, on the right. If flying to Vancouver, the best way to get to the hotel is by taxi, which will run about C$35. Another option is to take the SkyTrain from the airport to either the Yaletown or Chinatown station, followed by taking a taxi or walking. (It would take less than 10 minutes to walk from either station to the hotel.)

STAFF: My wife and I cannot say enough about the staff of the hotel, who went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The staff in the breakfast room is very attentive and even brought around a cart with drinks on them. The front desk staff provided my wife and me with all kinds of wonderful information about how to get from one place to another. They even gave us with coupons to the Vancouver Aquarium!

Another bonus is the shuttle that will take people to various parts of downtown. Anyone wishing to use the shuttle will need to make a reservation in advance – though my wife and I sometimes made it at the last minute and had no trouble getting someone to drive us within 30 minutes. Also, the shuttle offers only drop-off service, not pick-up.

ROOMS: This hotel offers good-sized rooms, many of them with a view of BC Place. The room in which my wife and I stayed had a flat-screen TV, king-sized bed, desk, two chairs, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. There was ample storage space, and inside the closet was a safe for valuables.

FACILITIES: This hotel has a decent-sized lobby, where one can get a variety of Canadian newspapers as well as the Seattle Times. On the second floor is a business center with a printer. The third floor is where the breakfast room is. The breakfast includes a wide variety of hot and cold items – some of which change – including omelettes, scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, sausage, potatoes, cereal, breads, pastries, juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, and oatmeal. The room is open after breakfast hours – though the part where breakfast is served is closed off – allowing people to use it for work or relaxation. One can also find several newspapers there for reading.

The fitness center is on the top floor of the hotel. Here, one will find elliptical machines, a standard and a recumbent bike, treadmills, stretching balls, table tennis, mats, dumbbells up to 50 pounds, two adjustable benches, a short barbell with 30 pounds of free weights, and two multi-use machines with weight stacks. Additionally, one will find in the fitness center a whirlpool and sauna. Those wanting a nice view of the city can go out glass doors from the fitness center onto the rooftop. My one complaint is that the multi-use machine with the bench press on it needs to be replaced: the pin to set the weight does not always go in properly, the bench is locked at an include, and the pull-down is designed for behind-the-neck pulls, which is not proper form.

INTERNET ACCESS: Internet is complimentary.

PARKING: There is a fee for parking.

TIP 1: The bus, seabus, and SkyTrain are all linked to the same system. If you plan do a lot of traveling during any single day via public transport, get a one-day pass, as it will save you money.

TIP 2: If looking for shopping and places to eat, Robson Street, on which the hotel is located, is known for its numerous stores and restaurants

The location is really good though it might seem a bit seedy at the beginning but we felt really safe. There are many taxis usually outside the hotel, and the hop on hop off bus stops near the hotel. You leave the hotel, turn right and then left, 10 minute walk and you are in the heart of the town. Leave the hotel, turn right and then right again and you are on your way to beautiful Granville, actually one of my favorite areas in Vancouver. The staff is very helpful with directions. Breakfast is in White Spot, a Canadian version of Denny’s perhaps a bit more upscale. They have very good choices on the menu, or you can have breakfast in one the restaurants nearby, and there are many.
I would stay again in the hotel for the comfort and the location.

Beautiful rooms and facilities in this totally redone hotel. The roof top gardens are a treat and so is the fully appointed kitchen too. Great service and tips on how and where to see the sites. I’d go there again in a flash.

The hotel itself isn’t really that fancy, but for the price in downtown Vancouver, its not that awful. The elevator takes an engineering degree to figure out because sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not Then, sometimes you don’t need your room key, sometimes you do. At least in my case it did 🙂 The room was adequate, nothing too fancy. The bed was comfortable and fairly large. The one area that could really be improved, but would be hard to figure out is parking. When you arrive for check-in, trying to find somewhere to park is the wildest adventure. I ended up looping around the block like 8 times because they have no available street parking, usually. They also don’t have anywhere to park near the front. I eventually just watched a taxi pull up on the sidewalk to the front door to let someone out. I followed suit and just parked up on the sidewalk ramp, checked-in, was given the parking garage key, and went from there.

They were doing some renovations when we stayed here in May 2017. Since the workout room was impacted we received passes to work out at the steve nash gym’s. We appreciated the accommodation. We had a newly renovated room and it was nicely laid out. The service at the hotel was great. Everyone was helpful when we asked for assistance. The location of the hotel was perfect and we would recommend staying here.

My family rented two rooms here for a recent stay in Vancouver, and would definitely stay here again. The staff was very helpful and professional, specifically they assisted us on multiple occasions with directions for transit to multiple locations, saving us time and money. The rooms themselves were wonderful, clean and spacious. I understand that new mattresses were put in recently as part of a renovation and they were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the fitness area was under renovation during our stay so I can not review it.
The location of the hotel is ideal. It is a 10 minute walk from multiple locations worth seeing, including Canada Place and Gastown, and is central to the rest of Vancouver with good transit options.
We were lucky enough to have a discounted rate, as I believe the regular rates would likely have been out of our budget, but after staying there, I can see the difference in quality in comparison to cheaper hotels.

I could Describe that the service was as I was expecting and we had a comfortable experience: excellent and quiet- a great place to stay and we enjoyed being near English Bay- we liked the room, the great view, the facilities. I also appreciated the little commercial center downstairs. It felt like home!

The location is ideal for a family vacation as almost everything is a short walk away or close to a bus stop. It is a very old hotel with no updates or renovations. The couch beds are awful so consider that when selection sleeping arrangements. There was a full kitchen but we had to purchase paper plates etc because there was only a couple supplied. The grocery store is conveniently downstairs with a wonderful fresh fruit stand across the street. I think it’s time to upgrade the ancient vacumes they use as the carpets were always dirty. A movie rental is just under $20 and there is a fee to park. The service was friendly here but nothing extraordinary by any means. I feel the cost outweighed the property and you only pay for the ideal location.

We arrived here on Friday, our room was not readily available but I felt that the front desk handled it well by explaining how they had been at full capacity from the previous day. We were given a really nice big room on the 8th floor. We opted to exchange this for a smaller room on a higher floor and we were not disappointed! We were given an ocean view room on the 22nd floor and the view was stunning, mountain on one side and the ocean on the other. The concierge and front desk were always there to help and give suggestions on places to go. This is a very central location with the Shaw Mobi bike rental right outside the building.

We stayed here for 5 nights prior to a cruise. Had a big room on 29th floor. Views were great. Room very clean with 2 big beds. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Very handy having toaster and microwave which meant we could get out quickly in the mornings. Location is great. About 20 minute walk straight down to cruise terminal. Lots of restaurants bars shops nearby. Didn’t have time to use the pool or gym. Would definitely recommend this hotel

We had a suite for two nights on 19th floor which had fantastic views over the city but was relatively quiet. We thought the location was ideally placed for reaching all the sights. The service and amenities were good.

We liked the hotel, we had a one bed suite and for 4 nights pre cruise when we didn’t want to eat too much it meant we could have breakfast and lunch/dinner in or out. Our room was one of the refurbed ones and was nice enough for the money. The supermarket was just 2 blocks away and we could walk to Sunset beach,Canada place and the Granville ferry easily enough. Not a full oven though if you really want to stay longer, but we had our own secure wifi for the room.

Blue Horizon Hotel Vancouver

We stayed at the Blue Horizon for three days last week. We had a family suite on the 29th floor which was perfect for travelling with teens. They slept on a daybed and pullout sofa and had their own bathroom, but we were all ‘together’. Fabulous balcony and gorgeous view (but no chairs on the balcony which was a little disappointing). The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms on this floor were newly renovated. Mini frig and coffee maker in the room, ice on the hall. There is a restaurant in the building – they don’t do room service but will make food To Go that you can take to your room. The hotel is very conveniently located. A walk to Spokes where you get a discount to rent bikes to ride around Stanley Park and visit the Aquarium. A short ride to the Whale Watching on Granville Island – and a water taxi home. Convenient to lots of shopping and restaurants. We did not have great wifi in the room, but we were seldom there (and maybe it kept our kids off their devices!)
There is a small pool, hot tub, and very small gym as well – perfectly fine if you are busy with sightseeing. Two computers in the lobby for printing out your boarding passes. Helpful front desk staff.

Everything is excellent about this hotel, the location, the room, the parking, the service. We are so hapy we choosed it.
We can walk everywhere as it close to shopping, foods and good public transportation.

Perfect location with lots of shopping and restaurants in walking distance on Robson and others in the downtown area. Short cab ride to the cruise ship on day of departure. Spacious and well appointed rooms. Loved it!
