Easy walk to Stanley park, shops and busses. Staff are excellent to deal with and are very friendly. Bedroom a little small but overall a small inconvenience. The suites are 1 block from Robson Street which has 19 blocks of shopping.
Stayed there for 3 days.. everything was well organised and comfortable. Nice place. The hotel staff is very friendly, Didn’t have any issue with the hotel. Will recommend to others. Nice place for short and long term visit.
The apartment 703 had everything we needed for a comfortable 6 day stay. The staff in all departments were exceptional, helpful and efficient. The location is good facing Stanley Park and an easy 15 minute walk into the centre. However the bedroom in this Premium apartment contained a rather small double bed and it was not possible to move around it as the room was not very wide. There was one bedside table and lamp but no room on the other side of the bed and no central light in the room with difficult to pull curtains. We solved this by using the sofa bed as well as the main bed. This is fine for two friends but not for a couple. Would suggest checking bedroom when booking to clarify, but would recommend with this reservation
We had a great stay at lord stanly, staff were very friendly (kids loved the High fives David!! ) great value, breakfast was great, location close to stanly park, restaurants, Safeway. Kids were comfortable on the fold out sofa. Only down side is not the best wifi signal, otherwise couldn’t recommend enough.
My husband’s work Christmas party was taking place at the Marina so we wanted to find a place close by to stay overnight. The location was perfect and within walking distance of where we were going.
You need to check in before you can go into the under ground parking. If you are using GSP you can’t miss the building. Check in was quick and easy. The parkade was a little confusing but we managed to find our way to the elevators to head up to our suite.
The suite itself was small, but we were aware of this from reading previous reviews, and we weren’t planning on spending much time there. The view in the morning was amazing, and we were on one of the higher floors so traffic noise was not too bothersome.
If we need to stay in the area in the future, we will definitely come back to the Lord Stanley suites.
Check out was quick and easy as well, so overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back.
My partner stayed here as he had just gotten out of the Lions Gate hospital from a mountain biking accident. As our travel insurance was supposed to organise our hotel and didn’t, we were left stranded in Vancouver with nowhere to stay for the next 2 weeks We had plenty of luggage and I was the only one capable of carting it around. After calling numerous booked out hotels I got through to Lord Stanley. What a saviour! They didn’t have a room available for the whole 2 weeks but after a long telephone conversation (Frustrating on their end I’m sure – sorry mate!) the receptionist was able to organise us 3 seperate rooms for the duration. We checked out of the first at 12pm and checked back in at 3pm and so on. During the checking out process they stored our luggage (including cold items in the fridge) and brought them up to the room again when it was clean. Each day when we arrived and left the hotel the receptionists would have a chat which was very comforting in the time which was very hard for us. The staff at this hotel are very accomodating. The service was impeccable! We stayed in Canada/ North America for 2.5 months and this was the most outstanding service by far. I can’t comment on the price as it was paid directly from our travel insurance company. We stayed in two rooms overlooking Alberti street and one overlooking the bay. Both were beautiful views! We had an excellent time. The elevators were fast, the breakfast was good but basic. We didn’t go down for breakfast much as its a first in first served until sold out situation and we weren’t getting up early.
The location was perfect! We couldn’t go far from the hotel due to my partners injuries but everything is in walking distance! Safeway, restaurants, the library, Stanley park etc are all extremely close. This is a great hotel in a beautiful street! 10/10. The only improvements I could see would be the size of the bedrooms and the appliances in the kitchen.
For the touristy rooms, I feel the study is a bit of a waste of space when the bedrooms are so small. This was a little hard when trying to get my partner into bed at night as one side was against the wall and the other side had very little room to move. I also feel that the utensils in the kitchen need to be improved.
Because we stayed for quite a long time we made plenty of meals. We had to keep buying the utensils/ pots/ pans etc from Safeway to cook the meals we wanted. Because we stayed so long the kitchen was very handy, and the main reason we called this place in the beginning over other hotels.
Otherwise everything about this apartment is great. All 3 rooms had a balcony and superb views. The location and friendly staff made this place amazing. If we ever get back to Vancouver we will stay here, no doubt about it.
Few other rooms offer the views of a corner suite at this hotel. Got spectacular views of both rising and setting full moons on first night. Closest hotel to Stanley Park. GREAT value!
The manager was very nice with us upon our arrival and the place is very clean and cannot complain about the breakfast !! A la prochain Lord Stanley !
David Andersen who handled our reservation was courteous, and very professional. Friendly but not invasive. He spent time to direct us to places we were looking for. Off to a great start. We checked out at noon time a few days later, and David was very helpful in letting us use the facilities late afternoon as our flight was later that night. Finishing off our stay with nothing but praise for the exceptional service. The suite was clean and very well equipped. Will definitely recommend this place.
The bed was like a cloud. The view of the Vancouver yacht club and, on a sunny day, the mountains, was an unexpected delight, Front desk staff were consistently helpful and excellent overall. front door security was also excellent, I felt safe staying alone. The location, a short walk to Stanley Park sea wall, was perfect for me, it was a short and easy bus ride to the art gallery and other downtown attractions, I would stay here again.
Breakfast was good. Room was great facing the Harbor. Beds comfy. Staff at breakfast were friendly and gave good service. Staff at reception was excellent always helpful and smiling. Hotel was convenient to get around town.
Excellent location, close to local transport links. Fantastic view. Continental Breakfast (& Waffle Maker) was a great touch. Friend & helpful concierge. Will definitely look to stay here again on future visits.
Staff Ali especially stood up on costumer excellency! Thank you! Location locations! Love the view of the water and the mountains! Walking distance to a tanley park. Walking distance to lots of restaurant. Bus stop is around the corner
Location was brilliant. Right next to Stanley park with an awesome view, plus really close to a restaurant area, the most amazing supermarket and the bus into the city centre. Breakfast was simple but good enough, with a few different choices and (while we were there at least) the magic of a waffle maker. Room was super cute. Small, but this didn’t trouble us – the bed was super comfortable, the kitchen was good, the bathroom also good, lounge room very comfortable and we had a little office space which turned out to be useful. Plus there was a washer/dyer which was really helpful after we got caught in the rain. And the view out our window was ace. Loved it.
totally exceeded my expectations. It’s a full on apt and the view was fantastic..perfect location, quiet street near great shopping and stanley park. Favorite Vancouver hotel I’ve stayed in. Rooms very quiet and comfortable
Love Lord Stanley Suites, well equipped apartment washer, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave, toaster everything you need. Safeway supermarket and lots of restaurants and takeaways a couple of hundred meters away. Close to Stanley Park and Coal harbour and you can have a very pleasant walk to Canada place and into town.
Breakfast included in the price waffles, cereal etc.
Hope to stay again next time we are in Vancouver.
We stayed here for four nights and loved it. The bed was the most comfortable I think I have ever slept in! The apartment was lovely, clean and tidy and it had everything we needed to cater for ourselves. The kitchen had plenty of crockery and utensils and we enjoyed a few home cooked meals whist we were there. Our balcony was lovely too and we enjoyed sitting out there watching the world go by. The complimentary breakfast was great – plenty of food to cater for all tastes and a good start to the day. All the staff we dealt with were very professional, helpful and friendly and we will definitely stay again should we find ourselves back in Vancouver!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Lord Stanley. The suite I stayed in was a one bedroom, with a full kitchen and a “solarium”. I was only there for the night, but it served my purpose of being close to Stanley Park and in the right price range.
The room was not exactly “spacious”, but it did include a separate bedroom and living area, 2 TVs, solarium, full kitchen, and in room washer/dryer.
The parking is a fully secure gated garage, with keycard access to the elevator lobby. The front door is manned at all times with keycard access as well.
Staff was very courteous and seemed ready to assist with whatever they could. Self-sufficient guests will appreciate the kitchen and convenient location. If you are looking for a “one stop” hotel, this isn’t it. It’s set up for a long term guest or someone who is used to taking care of their own needs. You won’t find snack machines, a hotel restaurant, or other amenities guests who like being catered to are used to. That said, I’m sure the staff would help you locate whatever you need nearby..
Booked an apartment for ten days and enjoyed stay so much that, after travelling on Vancouver Island, we returned for last week of our holiday.
The location is perfect: entrance to building is on leafy Alberni St, but a minute’s walk one way takes guests to the shops and eateries of Denman or, in the other direction, to the magical Stanley Park. The views from the water-facing appts are spectacular. We had a great little sunroom from which we watched all the water activity, from rowers practising, float planes flying, cruise ships sailing to and from the harbour – and the changing colours of the trees in the parkland.
Lastly, the service provided by the staff was superb. For David and his team, nothing was a problem. They greeted us warmly each day, taking an interest in our holiday and providing advice on local services and places of interest.
Lord Stanley Suites provided the perfect base for exploring this marvellous city and we will revisit.
When we walked into the reception we had such a lovely warm greeting it made us feel so welcome. Room had a small kitchen but best of all there was a washing machine and dryer. So welcome after a month travelling. Lovely breakfast provided too. The view was beautiful of Stanley Park. Great hotel to stay to bike around Stanley Park before leaving on a plane for Australia with 15 hours of flying….. I would stay again.
Close to Stanley Park and easily walkable to downtown Vancouver this made an excellent base for a couple of nights. Fully equipped apartment with an internal balcony for a very reasonable price and with parking available. Reception lady very helpful and cheerful
As a family, we have stayed at the Lord Stanley approximately 15 times on our annual summer vacation to Vancouver — from the time our teenagers were toddlers. Here’s why we keep coming back . . .
The location is perfect for leaving your car parked in the basement and exploring the city by bicycle.
The West End restaurant scene is fantastic for all tastes. Also a large grocery store, pharmacy, liquor stores and even a medical clinic are just a block or two away. We’ve needed all over the years.
Stanley park, with its beaches, trails, aquarium is just steps away. Need a pool? The lovely public pool at Second Beach in Stanley Park is a 10-minute walk.
Almost all the rooms have a good view and we like having a separate bedroom and let the kids sleep on the hide-a-bed sofa. Also, we take advantage of the in-room washer and dryer when we arrive after several days of camping and activities on Vancouver Island.
Although this is a minimalist hotel, the staff has been great in recent years. Housekeeping has been good about keeping us stocked.
Over the years the Lord Stanley seems to have made an effort to hire friendly people.
But then there’s David Anderson, who welcomes us (and everybody else) like we are his special guests.
Thanks to David and staff for another great stay this August!
