Listel Hotel Vancouver

We are 2 couples in our 50’s and stayed at The Listel.
This hotel is modern, rooms were ultra clean and comfortable.
It is situated on Robson street the main shopoing hub the other end of Robson towards Gastown way all the malls are there too all within a short 15 walk.

The staff are at the desk 24/7 and were so helpful and friendly.

We liked the central location of this hotel and walked to everything whether we needed to go to Canada Place or to catch a ferry on the other side towards Granville Island. Each walk took approx 15 mins.

Plenty of restaurants around the area too.

Stayed three nights in August. Very busy weekend with fireworks, PRIDE parade and National BC day. Staff was very accomodating helping us understand the transit system, make dinner reservations, etc. Loved the fact they are very environmentally friendly. Also loved the filtered still and sparkling water!

Beautiful place, SPOTLESS! Very helpful staff. Cool artwork. Great location near downtown. Centrally located with everything near by. Also the hotel was very quiet.
I would give Listel hotel my highest recommendation.

Westin Grand Hotel Vancouver

My husband and I recently stayed here for 3 nights in mid-July. Here are the pros and cons:

PROS
1. Location: The Westin Grand was extremely centrally located in the shopping district. There was a Starbucks 50 m away, a Tim Hortons coffee shop next door and many multicultural cafes all within a 2 block radius. It was an easy 10 minute walk to the stylish restaurants in Yaletown.
2. Comfortable: Our room was very well equipped with a sofa, desk, 2 TV’s and a wonderfully comfortable bed.
3. Excellent Wifi: The wifi service was complimentary and fast. We were able to stream Netflix with no issues.
4. Staff: The people working at the Westin were all friendly, courteous and helpful.

CONS
1. Cleanliness: The day we checked in, it was around noon and we noticed a breakfast tray with dirty dishes on our guest floor by the elevator. It stayed there a couple of hours. The next day, similarly dirty dishes were left in the hall of floor 17 (by the “Hotel Associates door”, no less) around 10 am and were still there when we returned around 3:30 pm.
2. Concierge/Bike Rentals: The concierge lady strongly pushed the “Spokes” bike rental place by Stanley Park on the grounds that “traffic is so busy” from the Westin to Stanley Park. It was 10:30 am on a Friday morning and as we walked down to Spokes, we observed that Vancouver’s streets were a lot less crowded than in other major metropolises. There were also many bike lanes. Just as a point of reference, it was $34 to rent a 7-speed cruiser bike for 6 hours from Spokes versus $9.85 to rent a City of Vancouver cruiser bike for 24 hours. There was a big City bike stand on Homer and Robson, just 100 feet from the front door of the Westin Grand. We will definitely rent a City bike next time.
3. Extremely Slow Elevators: The Westin has only 2 small elevators which were very slow, heavily scuffed up and could not efficiently accommodate hotel guests. We often encountered the Westin’s cleaning staff in these 2 elevators so there must not be a separate staff elevator. Interestingly (at least on our floor 17), there was a large TV positioned at the elevator bank, probably there to distract guests from the very long wait times. 10-15 minute waits were not uncommon.

Blue Horizon Hotel Vancouver

We stayed at the Blue Horizon for three days last week. We had a family suite on the 29th floor which was perfect for travelling with teens. They slept on a daybed and pullout sofa and had their own bathroom, but we were all ‘together’. Fabulous balcony and gorgeous view (but no chairs on the balcony which was a little disappointing). The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms on this floor were newly renovated. Mini frig and coffee maker in the room, ice on the hall. There is a restaurant in the building – they don’t do room service but will make food To Go that you can take to your room. The hotel is very conveniently located. A walk to Spokes where you get a discount to rent bikes to ride around Stanley Park and visit the Aquarium. A short ride to the Whale Watching on Granville Island – and a water taxi home. Convenient to lots of shopping and restaurants. We did not have great wifi in the room, but we were seldom there (and maybe it kept our kids off their devices!)
There is a small pool, hot tub, and very small gym as well – perfectly fine if you are busy with sightseeing. Two computers in the lobby for printing out your boarding passes. Helpful front desk staff.

Everything is excellent about this hotel, the location, the room, the parking, the service. We are so hapy we choosed it.
We can walk everywhere as it close to shopping, foods and good public transportation.

Perfect location with lots of shopping and restaurants in walking distance on Robson and others in the downtown area. Short cab ride to the cruise ship on day of departure. Spacious and well appointed rooms. Loved it!

Listel Hotel Vancouver

This is now my second time staying at the Listel Hotel. My wife and I absolutely love the location (right on Robson) and have always enjoyed our stay here.

The staff have always made us feel very welcome. Very friendly and courteous…even went above and beyond when I had asked to see if they had a microwave that I could have brought up to my room for the night.

The FREE complimentary wine tasting daily from 5-6pm was a great way to start our evenings. The wine tasting staff were very knowledgeable and it made from some great conversations in the lobby with guests.

The FREE e-bikes were a blast. 3 hours is more than enough time (daily) to cruise around downtown Vancouver, through Stanley Park and Seawall. Biking was easy up those tough hills with the push of a button. Will definitely be taking advantage of those again our next stay.

Overall, another amazing trip and what a fantastic stay. Highly recommend Listel Hotel to anyone.

We had two stays within one week at the Listel Hotel. The hotel is very well designed, full of artworks, and the staff were first class – consistently helpful, friendly and very efficient. This was my first time in Vancouver and we were given every assistance finding our way round the city – and were even lent the hotel’s electric bikes for a few hours’ r(de which was great fun. The location was perfect for Stanley Park, English Bay and the seafronts ( and shops which we didn’t want, but others might) and there are lots of good places to eat locally. The hotel’s linked restaurant, Forage, where we had breakfast each day and one supper, was excellent though it felt strange having to remember tobook a place for breakfast in a hotel of this class. I marked the hotel ‘average’ value for money as it WAS expensive in comparison with most other places we’ve stayed – but we were visiting over the weekend of BC Day, the Pride March and the international Fireworks Display at English Bay; probably prices are lower at less intensive time when accommodation isn’t in so much demand. We would certainly stay again – thank you to all the staff!

Thank you to the Westin Grand and specially to Chris at the front desk for making me feel welcome.

This is a great hotel with lots of amenities. It’s close to everything and the room are beautiful.
I try to stay here every time I’m in Vancouver.
You guys are great !

I have stayed at many Westin Hotels (Paris, New York, Seattle) and always felt it was a very good hotel. I did not feel that way about the Westin Grand in Vancouver. I will start with the positives: I got upgraded from a corner deluxe room to a suite. The room was spacious and new. Location was great, right on Robson street, main area in downtown. The biggest problem were the elevators. They have two and sometimes only one working. A typical wait is 20-25 minutes. When I asked why the elevators are so so slow they said because there are lots of guests! The hotel underwent a recent major renovation but did not include elevators. That is planned for later this year.

The refrigerator in the room was not cooling drinks. When I asked if someone can check it out I was told it was not meant to cool bottles of water I buy from elsewhere. I told the front desk I would buy their bottle of water if it was cool and if the refrigerator smelled better and she just shrugged her shoulders. Terrible customer service.

Westin along with Le Meridien are the top level hotels. In this particular instance I had a better experience at a Four Points Sheraton for a fraction of the price. This room cost $400 ( Canadian)/ night.

In a nutshell, the poor customer service, especially at the front desk, had the most negative impact in my visit.

We stayed for 2 nights as part of a longer trip and I wish we had booked in for longer! Great experience from start to finish.

Check in was efficient and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We received a free upgrade to a higher floor which was nice as our view over Robson Street at night was truly stunning!

The room was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The bed was SO comfortable and we weren’t disturbed by noise at all during our stay.

The location is excellent, particularly if you like to shop as you’re right in the middle of the main shopping street and there are lots of places to eat and drink nearby! You’re just 15 minutes walk from Canada Place and perhaps 20 minutes from Coal Harbour/ a little longer for Stanley Park. We took the free buses from Canada Place to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Grouse Mountain which were both great days out and the Capilano Suspension Bridge bus actually dropped us back off right outside the hotel which was very convenient.

I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a central base to explore Vancouver. Book it! You won’t regret it! Thank you to all at the Blue Horizon for a wonderful stay!

Was pleasantly surprised to see a huge twin room right in the heart of Vancouver city. It’s walking distance to the beach, Art Gallery, Chinatown and to the shopping district. The room is very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It also has a nice cafe, Abode.

Got room on 24th floor with two walls of windows overlooking city and harbor. Room modern décor and very clean. Walk in shower. Dined in on sight Abode restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Excellent food and service. Close to shopping on Robson St.

Times Square Suites Vancouver

Check in was very easy, staff friendly. Rooms were superb could just see some Mountains with snow on the tops.
Bathroom spotless.
Would have liked more choice of coffee and tea and there was no milk or sugar but That is my only niggle.

Stayed here for three nights in late May and it was an excellent place to stay. Facilities and rooms were clean, comfortable and provided everything that was needed. Wifi good, staff friendly and helpful.

The only negative was the noise from the street below. If you closed the window to keep the noise out the room got too stuffy so you couldn’t sleep, but with window open was noisy so you couldn’t sleep. Otherwise would have been five star easily.

Loved our stay here and would stay again. Bus stop not far and from there you can access everywhere throughout Vancouver. Easy to hire a bike and ride around nearby park which was just beautiful.

We stayed at the Times Square hotel in downtown Vancouver for two nights in June 2017. We booked a two bedroom suite and it had a full kitchen, washer/dryer and one bathroom. There were two separate bedrooms although one was micro small with no closet. The living room also had a pull out couch making this room perfect for a family of 5. There was a French door that could be opened to the outside but there was just a railing and no way to step out or sit outside. There was parking available in a secure underground parking garage for $20 per night. The staff was very friendly and helpful and this hotel is ideally situated close to Stanley Park and within a block of restaurants, a grocery store and just about anything else you could think of. The room itself is a little worn and tired. Furnishings are not new and I think this is typical three star type accommodations. There is nothing luxury going on here but the rest of it makes up for it easily.

The hotel is beautiful and we love the suites. They are nicely laid out with the bathroom away from the bedroom. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. Carlie, the Experience Specialist, had reached out before our trip to offer help with our visit. I took her up on her offer and she sent us a Vancouver “To Do” list, restaurant recommendations, and Victoria Island information. The “To Do” list was invaluable as it contained directions and sights to see. I was fortunate to meet Carlie during our stay and thank her in person but she helped make our stay memorable, so thank you again, Carlie! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to our return visit later in the month.

We stayed 2 nights while visiting from Vancouver Island for a concert. We were in a newly renovated suite that was a blend of comfort and luxury with all the modern touches. I personal loved the lavender sleep roller – it was such a personal touch.

We had food and in the restaurant which was also great- 5 star! We shared almost ever small plate on the menu with friends and loved them all.

When we walked into the suite, we were shocked. We expected a more standard hotel room, but instead found a very nice suite, well-decorated. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Stayed here one night prior to cruise departure but would definitely return for a longer stay. Room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Nice artwork. Hotel is very environmentally friendly and has a cool vibe. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Free wine tasting in the evenings and free local and long distance calls within US and Canada. Conveniently located to cruise piers, harbor, and Stanley Park. Great shopping and restaurants on the same street – a Tim Horton for donuts and coffee, a wonderful Greek restaurant across the street, many Asian places. The hotel has 2 interesting restaurants that we did not have time to try. For an overnight stay or longer, this is a great hotel!

The welcome starts before you arrive – look out for the concierge email. All staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Hotel is conveniently situated for everything – short walk to stores, waterfront and excellent restaurants. Rooms were clean, bathrooms a little small & outdated. Nice touches – umbrella’s available to borrow for rainy days in Vancouver. & themes on each floor – great for those with an interest in history/art. The food in the adjoined restaurant, Timber, is amazing.

Great location, clean, spacious rooms, beautiful decor, and excellent service. We ended up staying here purely out of coincidence since we needed a hotel close to downtown on very short notice, but it was a fantastic choice!

At first glance the room was fine. However the room temperature could not be regulated and it was way too warm for the 4 days that we were there. The bed was saggy. The TV kept cutting out on us in the middle of the program. There were people up until 4AM so did not get much sleep one night. On the upside the water was SUPER hot so good showers!

his hotel was located downtown near some korean restaurants.
My family and I stayed here on our first night in vancouver

The had a great location even though the amenities were a bit outdated. For the price though its a good stay

I’ve stayed here a couple of times over the past year. The location is good- 10-15 min walk from the heart of downtown Vancouver. The area is safe and lots of people walking at most times of the day.
The staff are friendly and super helpful and willing to store bags during the day

I’ve stayed in a couple of different rooms – the deluxe are the way to go around floor 30 if you can. The views over to Stanley park and across the bridge to north Vancouver and the mountains is absolutely beautiful.

Super comfortable beds and decent bathroom it’s all I need for a downtown stay. I’ve heard rumours the building is being knocked down for apartments but I’ll continue to stay here as long as it’s around.
