Loden Hotel Vancouver

This hotel went above and beyond our expectations! Amazing room, fabulous service, kind staff all around that was extremely helpful!!! The room is super large for a big city, bathroom super convenient and modern! All the little touches were thiught of, cleaning and turn down service on point! Even the valet was so nice he made us enjoy the hotel even more! We enjoyed our three nights stay so much we didn’t want to leave! The restaurant and bar is awesome!!! I’ve stayed in tons of great hotels but this one was nothing short of perfect!!!! Tableau Bistro!!! On both visits (and yes we visited twice on our 3 days stay in Vancouver) we sat at the bar and enjoyed lively conversation with both bartenders. The cocktails were on point and so were all the recommendations they made!! Delicious food and nice service, nothing more we could have asked for!

The rooms are amazing both in terms of design and comfort – they are spacious with a sofa space and very clear with full windows

Best hotel in the neighbourhood, ideal for exploring the area. Fantastic rooms, with everything you could wish for.

We were given a nice bottle of wine and some chocolate on our anniversary! This was our first trip to Vancouver, and the staff was very helpful. Our room was quiet and we were very comfortable.

Fairmont Waterfront Hotel Vancouver

We were here for a week, and it was very nice, but not really quite a “5 star Fairmont” level. We had Gold Level, although I suspect the rooms are identical.

But first, the best: The concierge team at the Gold Lounge… they were absolutely the BEST of *any* “club level” type lounge we’ve encountered (including at other Fairmonts).
They were extremely pleasant, which is always a good starting point.
But…. EVERY request… well… they often anticipated the question/request and were offering to help (or “get something”) before we could even finish the request/question.

Separately, the snacks were, for the most part, among the best we’ve had, also. This is especially notable given that the Lounge was relatively small.
A couple of the “scone type” baked items (not sure what to call them) were soooo tender, they just about melted in one’s mouth. We had to exercise some serious self-restraint to avoid putting on a few pounds a day if we had eaten what we’d have liked to have eaten.

The room was small, and the bathroom wasn’t special. But everything was modern and very clean.
The shower was very large (but I do miss those large soaking tubs top hotels were more likely to have in the past). And, very nice, the “overhead” rainshower head was slightly tilted.
However, given the placement of the fixtures and the fixed glass wall (not the door half), it was very inconvenient to try to turn the water on and adjust the temp the first time, trying to keep out of the way. Fortunately, the way the on/off/temp control worked meant that we could just keep the temp position fixed. It didn’t need to be moved to turn the water on/off. (Neither of us remembers this being a problem with other hotel showers that appeared similar.)

Importantly, there were sufficient drawers in the room, for unpacked clothing.
(Somehow, there seems to be a trend – elsewhere – NOT to have drawers, and in some cases, not even shelves. Do other hotels think their guests have perhaps two sets of clothes, one to wear and the other to be sent out for dry cleaning every day!? Pan Pacific Hotel, across the street, we are looking at YOU here!)

The bath linens were especially soft. That does make a difference, too. These things are noticed.
On the other hand, the toilet paper is of the most flimsy type. Doesn’t a Fairmont warrant “nicer” TP? (Seriously?)
We’ve owned vacation rental properties, and our managers laughed at us for using “expensive” Charmin. It matters to us; it matters to our own guests, too. (We had ONE complaint very early on about this, and we immediately cleared out all the cheaper TP and tissues, and provided “good” supplies thereafter.)

The bed was slightly on the “too firm” side, although we recognize that bed firmness/softness is a very personal thing. Can’t please everyone with one standard issue. But it did *not* interfere at all with comfortable sleeping (although we were just a bit concerned at bedtime the first night).

One suggestion: Given that Gold Level guests are supposed to “check in” on the Gold Level floor, it would help to have some indication that there is no keycard required for that floor. Most Gold/Club levels do have keycard restricted access.

We have previously stayed at the Fairmont Pacific Rim and also at the Pan Pacific. The Pacific Rim has terrific bathrooms (yes, it makes a difference), and their Gold Lounge has a much better view of the water and mountains, so that’s probably still our first choice.
But my goodness… the Gold Lounge Concierges at the Waterfront… Right. I already mentioned them!
But they absolutely deserve a second mention 🙂

Bottom line, we would be happy to stay here again, if the other Fairmont, the Pacific Rim, wasn’t available.
And it’s head and shoulders above the Pan Pacific, without any question.

Location is great for our interests. Rogers Arena, excellent restaurants, Shark Club around the corner, Harbor Ferry to Granville Island shopping, walking distance to Canada Place and more shopping, casino 5 minute walk away. Staff so helpful and friendly, above and beyond what they needed to be. Room clean and comfortable, king size bed perfect, slept so well! This is now our ” go to” hotel when we come to Vancouver. Excellent value.

Wonderful to being close to the theatre to see our show for the evening (Shen Yun, which was beautiful!) and also wonderful to have an Italian restaurant close by to enjoy with friends!

Great location downtown and friendly staff. Comfortable room and decent size common whirlpool/steam room. No complaints about the hotel itself.

Great room and a good jazz bar next door to the hotel. We were given a room on the top floor which was very quiet. The king bed was very comfortable.

The hotel steam room, gym and whirl pool are great. Room service from the restaurant was delicious. The staff helped me get my iPhone connected to the wifi and offered sightseeing advise.

Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver

From the moment that we set foot on the property, the courteous and helpful staff at the Four Seasons in Vancouver treated us like royalty and ensured that our stay was truly spectacular and missing not a single detail. With my husband’s Birthday celebration, the manager arranged a complimentary upgrade to one of their two-level penthouse royal suites. The room was truly exceptional in every respect, from the cleanliness to decor, lighting, and climate control. It truly went beyond suiting our every need.

During our stay we thoroughly enjoyed multiple visits to the Health Club facility, including their fabulous hot tub. The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful, from providing recommendations for dinner plans and making reservations for us to even providing driving directions when leaving the hotel due to a parade directly in front of the building. Four Seasons never ceases to amaze, and the hotel in Vancouver without a doubt exceeded our every expectation.

The fact that you can walk inside to the CanadaLine train which runs to the airport is one good reason to choose this place. The great service and facilities, and the restaurant are also fabulous.

Terrific service with a smile. Went out of their way to help especially the restaurant waiters.Extremely fast room dining order to table. The best food i have had on a consistent basis in a hotel!

One delightful staff/customer service encounter after another from check-in until, well, even after check-out. In fact gold service personnel–Nelson particularly–went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay for my birthday celebration (which we did not advertise to the hotel but suspect a family member did). The BMW limo service was unexpected and really complimented all of the other fabulous services we experienced. Katie in the lounge was so gracious as we had a post-concert drink and enjoyed the talented live musicians that play there.

I stay here as often as possible while in Vancouver. The staff are as very friendly as well as the rooms are always very clean. I love the proximity to the the inner harbour as well as the proximity to downtown Vancouver.

Can’t say enough about this hotel. Staff, car service, spa, lobby, restaurants, rooms (bathroom is top notch!) all amazing !

5 star, well worth it !

Worth nothing:
Great location
Live bands in lobby bar
Amazing coffee shop attached
Rooms have modern technology for all lighting, drapes, TV, etc
Fantastic views from my room. But I’m sure all are amazing

The little things made a HUGE difference. The staff is obviously very well trained. Best customer service I have seen in Vancouver, by far. We stayed for my girlfriends birthday. They found out the occasion and she was gifted a gorgeous slice of cake. I asked for a room at a higher level, and was accommodated (23rd floor, WOW).

The hotel is well located with waterfront access at its front door and only a short walk to Gastown, downtown and Chinatown, and a 20-30 min stroll to beautiful Stanley Park with all its amazing elements. Waterfront amenities – sea planes, ferries, charters – abound. The food and drink on site is top of the line and the live music in the lounge is really enjoyable. Bonus points – they know how to make a real martini there. The Gold Floor lounge and amenities are exceptional, as is the Fairmont experience in general. Upscale restaurants in great variety nearby.

The staff were phenomenal! I really enjoyed the text service; it was quick and efficient. I required an Ipod dock and texted the staff who brought it up right away.

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver Airport

I just finished my stay at Fairmont Vancouver Airport at the beginning of a 3 week vacation.

First impressions were good, when I was met in the airport and was asked my name and given my room key without even needing to go to the registration desk.

I was given directions on getting to the lobby of the hotel and then to my room. It was at the end of the hallway on the 7th floor.

The views of the aprons of the airport are very good, even though just the smaller US bound jets. Others have said that they didn’t hear the planes in their room. It must be on room location as I clearly was able to hear them from the last flight to the first of the morning. Get the other side of the hotel if sound will affect your sleep.

To the facilities of the room. Like other reviewers I found the room very dated and in need of renovations. For the nightly price and room service rates, they should be able to afford renovations.

There are several things I will mention, just because I notice everything.

To start with, the buttons on the air conditioning controls are almost worn off so it was hard to tell if I was adjusting up or down. The closet door won’t stay closed as looks like the track that keeps it closed is worn out. On the smaller size, older lcd tv, none of the functions worked except channel up and down. Most buttons said unavailable when pushed. The desk phone is an old cordless phone with the antenna on the base removed or broken off. Looks like a 15 year old cordless. The bed phone had several buttons that didn’t work, including for wake up calls. So I just pressed zero to ask for one.

Lastly the bed. Others have mentioned the comfort, I found it a little hard for my liking and was up a couple times in the night.

I try to be balanced in my reviews, and in this one it seems that I am just complaining. I don’t mean to, I was just looking forward to a wow factor and I didn’t get one.

On the plus side, the service was great. When I did reach person for wake up I was greeted by name, and the meeting with my room key was also a nice touch.

Problem is the noise, the outdated and partially worn out or broken room features makes it a place I will likely not stay again unfortunately.

Can’t beat the convenience of the location however, right in the terminal.

We stayed for 3 nights prior to a trip to Whistler and couldn’t have picked a better hotel. Old stylish hotel, beautiful reception area, made to feel very welcome on check in.
Location was fantastic, used the train from the airport and was a 2 minute walk from the station, so easy and much cheaper than a taxi (and probably just as quick).
Rooms were large for a city centre hotel, huge bed and so comfy. Lovely bathroom.
The hotel was spotless and this included our room on the 13th floor.
The only drawback was that the pool was out of action whilst we were there due to refurbishment.
During out first night (and after a 9 hour flight) the occupants of the next room decided to have a drunken slanging match at 2am….thankfully the management halted this promptly after we reported it!
Would defently recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights on business in late Feb 2017. I could have rated 5 (Excellent) but there were some fairly uncomfortable circumstances.

The room was fantasitic – large & kept clean, albeit slightly dated. The bathroom was ok too (again dated).

The executive lounge on floor 9 was also fantastic with a great selection of breakfast & drinks. The staff there were also amazing.

The reasons for not givng a 5 star were the doormen & some mess about my check-out time.
When I arrived at the hotel, there were a few doormen but they were just chatting & laughing to each other. It appared that they hadn’t even noticed me at all. The taxi driver even said to me “it seems like they don’t want to come for you because there are no lady guests”. What a shame! No greetings, no offer of opening the door at all. I felt very unwelcomed.

As to the check-out time, I requested an extended check-out time until 3pm & I could have sworn that this was confirmed upon check-in. But, on the departure day, I had a call from the reception claiming that the next guest is waiting, how soon can you leave & we have no record of late check-out. Although I should not complain too much because a late check-out should be given at the hotel’s courtesy, it was still not a good experience especially I believed that the request had been accepted.

Upgraded to a suite with a separate bedroom. Worked perfectly to meet with our team each morning and evening. The concierge booked us a great restaurant for our team dinner within walking distance. All staff from Scott the Bellman to Jeffrey in the dining room were beyond outstanding. Elevators were quick rooms were clean and the location was perfect. Only issue was expensive parking ….yikes. I would stay again

We were back this year to celebrate our 31st anniversary and I have to say that our stay was even better than the first time. We got the same room we had last year and OMG the service is still top notch. Even with the rainy weather the hotel did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel’s breakfast is still sumptuous, thanks to the magic touch of Eleanor, who greeted us by name and with her big smile and enthusiastic conversation. The staff, from the front entrance personnel, to the reception desk and the concierge, everyone was friendly and courteous. We got a wonderful surprise delivered to our room for our special occasion, courtesy of the general manager. For all our future trips to Vancouver, it will be the Sutton Place Hotel and nowhere else. Let’s not forget, the bed mattress and the pillows were so comfortable that you don’t want to get out of bed.

I was celebrating my 30th Birthday in Vancouver and, after a lot of indecisiveness, I decided to reserve one of the 2 bedroom suites in Le Grande Residence. I can honestly say I had no regrets at all. The suite was huge! It had a kitchen area, a king bed in one room and a queen bed in the other. It also had a pull out sofa bed. The living room was a great size to host a dinner party. The staff was so helpful in accommodating all my random requests (ie. a table, kitchenware, etc). The service was fast, friendly and efficient. Location wise, there are shops and great restaurants all walking distance. In the summer, the walk down to Coal Harbour Area (my personal favourite area to be in warm weather) would be gorgeous!

I would definitely recommend staying at the Sutton in the future, and will do for my future events
