Monet for value is good staff friendly and polite and breakfast is very good. Hotel a bit run down but cleanliness of rooms his excellent. Location is not bad on the immediate surrounding of hotel. Access to city center is easy.
Great place, good breakfast, free parking and overall GREAT room for me and my family. The wifi was fairly strong and had enough for all our devices to work with no problem. The location was a little off downtown but I had a car, so I did not mind. Plus, it was great place for my family.
Great location and really nice hotel. Very central and close to everything downtown. Across from the seawall which is perfect if you like to get outside. Also has a grocery store across the street which is super handy for quick breakfasts and snacks. I will definitely stay here again.
Went for a vacation for Halloween to stay with some long time friends I haven’t seen in years! Lakhsmi the manager had provided us with great information on the hotel and helped us get a better view and room for our stay. The service was emaculate and the staff were super friendly – definetly will come back again to stay at this sweet hotel!!!
We stayed in a room with the view of the harbor, Grouse mountain and a bit of the downtown (room 1811). The sunny weather favored us. The room was clean with all appliances in good condition. Moreover, our bathroom had heated toilet seat. It was definitely very comforting. We went to Gastown for dinner which was ~8mins cab-ride away. We enjoyed our one-night stay very much. We’ll come back again.
This property is very well maintained with modern decor. Rooms are generously sized and have desk, work space with comfortable chair. Location is central to restaurants and recreation. Easy five block walk to Waterfront train station for trip to airport.
I have stayed at the Coast Coal Harbour twice, and plan many more future trips to the property.
Conveniently located in Coal Harbour, just a ten-minute walk to Waterfront Skytrain Station and from Pacific Centre Mall, everything you could need is nearby. Lots of dining options are available just down the street. Prestons, the on-site restaurant, offers reasonably-priced delicious food, and both the morning and evening staff are friendly and welcoming.
The lobby is beautifully decorated; front desk staff are great; elevators require a room key, so security is good.
The rooms are definitely the feature of the hotel. You can tell it is a new property — rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. All rooms have a mini-fridge and bathrobe. Bathroom amenities have a great (mild) fragrance. I especially love the cute origami swans left on the bed, and the hotel recently installed Japanese-style toilets, which is an experience in itself. I’d suggest paying for an upgrade to a Superior room that offers a water view. Stunning!
Overall, the Coast Coal Harbour is a solid choice. An added bonus is racking up Coast Rewards points (I convert them to Aeroplan). Usually find that booking on their website is the cheapest way to go, plus you get those great loyalty point benefits.
Highly recommended; I’ll be back!
Not a luxury hotel, but clean and comfortable and modern. Beds were comfortable, but double not queen size. Pillows could be better. I am fussy about pillows. Bathroom was clean, modern, but lighting could be better, and the blow-dryer provided was not good. Great fitness facility and nice heated out-door pool and hot tub. Quick and efficient check-in and check-out and prompt valet parking.
Great location for shopping on Robson. Many great local restaurants and larger chains within walking distance. Coffee shops galore. Beautiful views and close to the waterfront for clean sea air in your lungs.
We were downtown attending a 40th birthday party, and were treated to stay at this hotel – we had adjoining rooms and had a good visit with our grandchildren – the restaurant ‘Prestons’ had happy hour and we were treated to really good service – breakfast the next morning was an interesting experience – the meal orders were taken with what appeared to be detail and precise – however, the delivery did not reflect the amount of attention to detail we thought we would get – eggs Benedict came without the eggs, and small mix-ups that appeared quite amusing – the convenience of downtown with a restaurant prompts us to visit again! There is room for improvement!
Eight of the top 15 hotels in Canada are located right here in B.C., according to U.S. News & World Report this week released its 2018 rankings for the best hotels around the world, and British Columbia properties snagged eight of the top 15 spots in Canada.
Vancouver’s Rosewood Hotel Georgia took first place in the consumer ranking, while Tofino’s Wickaninnish Inn came in third. Vancouver’s Wedgewood Hotel was in fourth place and the Fairmont Pacific Rim was sixth.
Great hotel for the value. Usually stay here during convention as it is way more reasonably priced than hotels closer to the convention center. It’s about a 20 min walk or a 10 min cab ride( in traffic) to the convention center. They have 1 bedroom suites with balcony and full kitchens. The higher floors are quieter. Beds are very comfortable
It is next to a hospital so rooms facing west will be a bit noisier, but higher floors will lessen
Great staff and very good service.
If you don’t want housekeeping, they will give you a coffee card for every day you don’t want cleaning

Great room, comfy beds. Walking distance to everything. The bar and restaurant downstairs are fantastic. Such kind and friendly wait staff. Come for the comfy beds stay for the food and drinks. Very pleasant atmosphere.
I’d like to highlight the staff in this review. The staff were lovely and quite professional in their service. Just because of them I’d consider staying again. The stay was without issue, and the room was comfortable! The room was clean and stocked… couldn’t understand the tv channels.. but I’m assuming I had to pay, when I’ve never had to at other hotels. Overall great experience
I have been in this hotel twice and spent 2 nights per each visit. The hotel front desk and housekeeping staff are amazing; they are helpful and friendly. Fabio, Andre, Paul and Osmel thank you. The rooms and beddings/linens are very clean. On of the cleanest hotels I’ve been.
I had a rather unpleasant experience at the restaurant this time round: the Friday 10th November afternoon restaurant manager without saying a word walked rudely and yanked cutlery from the hands of the server while I was placing my order. I picked up my food about 20 minutes later and when I got to my room, I realized that the food cover was stuck on the food plate so I went back down to ask them to help me remove it. This same manager overheard me telling the server about the stuck cover so turned to me and said ” you are very special, this has never happened before”. Hm, so because “I’m very special” they decided to press down the food cover so hard it got stuck, right? You would have thought that, he will take responsibility for what went wrong. But no, no apology nothing. The server took the tray and food, she came back a few minutes later and it was open. I later realized that they broke the plastic food cover so there were plastic bits in my food. The food cover had the broken parts all round the top.
The green beans in the food were rotten, I don’t know if there was old left over rotting beans sauce that was placed first in my plate and they they added a little bit of fresh one on top???
I had a long day working about 2 hours away from the hotel, so I must say that I was tired and should never have even ordered the food let alone tasted it, seeing how the manager behaved. Not only did they let me down but I think I let myself down not to have confronted him and also returned the food and collected my money together with my 15% tip. His saying that I was ‘very special” makes me wonder, what coded way was he trying to tell me that I was being treated differently?
The Hotel is located on Robson Street, Vancouver’s eating, shopping and entertainment hub. Nestled between downtown and the West End, enjoy some of Vancouver’s finest views in most of the Hotel’s 31 stories. … more
The hotel is located in downtown Vancouver and is a 15 minute walk from the Scotia Tower station which is on the Canada line. The Canada lines runs from Vancouver (YVR) airport and downtown. A taxi from the airport cost $31.00. The reception staff on arrival were very friendly and check in only took a few minutes. There is a restaurant and coffee shop in the hotel. The gym is modern and open 24/7. If you wish to park a car at the hotel the cost is $17.00 (+tax) per day. The one bedroom suites come with kitchen and separate bedroom for more privacy. Our friend stayed in a studio suite which also had a kitchenette yet the bed was in the same room as the lounge. There is an IGA supermarket a short walk down Burrard street which is open until midnight most nights.

The hotel is older and could use a tiny bit of maintenance. However, it was super clean and comfortable. The courtyard was beautiful and I loved the little touches that they put around the place like the cute little signage. The staff was friendly and there was complimentary bottled water and coffee in the room. The location was good too. We were easily able to walk to the main shopping streets. The only downside was the $35 a night for parking!
We go into Vancouver quite regularly and have stayed in many different hotels and decided to try the Burrard for the first time via a Be Vancouver promotion. We stayed two nights and loved the place! The front desk staff are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms, although not as spacious as other hotels we’ve stayed in have everything you need for a comfortable stay and are absolutely spotless. It has a very “retro” feel to it and I really enjoyed the courtyard with the trees lit up, the open fire pit and the music. I felt like I was in a tropical resort when we walked into the courtyard despite the chilly Vancouver weather. The wi-fi is free along with complimentary bikes and they even offer a pass to the nearby Steve Nash although I didn’t make use of that. There is a coffee shop and restaurant on either side. Had a nice chat with the maid as well who was also very personable. Will definitely stay here again.
