Granville Island Hotel

This was a nice find at a beautiful location, with great service. The room was nice and comfortable without being ostentatious. We enjoyed the location on Granville Island with proximity to the market and galleries, and easily connected to downtown via water taxis and ferries. The only negative is that before arriving it wasn’t clear how to drive onto the island, which took some searching (even with gps). Consider not taking a car onto the island, which isn’t necessary for getting around the city.

Booked last minute as our Alaskan Cruise ended here. Perfect spot in/on Granville Island. Beautiful hotel, great water views, excellent service, gorgeous rooms, comfy beds and walking distance to everything! Avoid the worry…don’t hesitate…stay here and enjoy!

Great location, lovely staff, very clean. Room was quite small with 2 beds, could not move around room or lay out suitcase anyplace. Air conditioning unit extremely loud in room, went on and off all night, could not sleep.

Very comfortable hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Staff were able to cater for a variety of food intolerances for all meals, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Rooms and facilities were modern and well-maintained and serviced.

Old world sophistication mixed with all amenities of a modern 5 star hotel. Fantastic spa, awesome pool and fitness facilities, and excellent options to wine and dine, from Hawksworth restaurant, Prohibition nightclub and the cool roof bar. Rooms are spacious and super comfy. One of the best experiences I ever had

My husband and I checked into the Rosewood Hotel Georgia Wednesday evening a few days prior to a cruise to Alaska in celebration of a special anniversary. When we got into our room we were greeted with a special note congratulating us and a delicious small anniversary cake. When we went to start to unpack our luggage we realized that there were no drawers to place our clothes. There was one small closet in the room with a few hangers. We had 2 large suit cases filled with clothes for our cruise and were upset that there was no place to unpack our clothes My husband called the front desk to complain about this situation. At first we were told that they would bring portable drawers to our room. We got a call back from Melanie Savard telling us that they didn’t have any additional drawers to send us. Melanie then decided to upgrade our room to a suite which had 2 closets and plenty of room for our clothes. Melanie went above and beyond to make our stay beyond pleasant. Everyone we came in contact at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating.
I would definitely recommend the Rosewood Hotel Georgia to anyone that values service as an important component of travel..
My one suggestion is to evaluate the furnishings in the hotel rooms to make sure that there is sufficient room for people to unpack clothes. Not everyone comes with carry on luggage or wishes to keep there clothes in a suitcase

We found the hotel very convenient for exploring Downtown Vancouver and easy to get to from the airport on the Canada Line. We had a Superior Room; spacious especially the bathroom. The Lobby Decor we found a bit dark but all staff were helpful.
There was one hiccup when music was being played at 4 am from one of the Bars – it turned out that someone had accidentally switched the system on. Management was apologetic the next morning. That aside our room on the inner Courtyard was quiet.

We had a group of about 45 arriving at different times .The front desk staff was friendly and professional in checking everyone in. Granville island has a parking issue so if you are lucky and fine a space, grab it, otherwise they have valet parking. Make sure to read all the signs so you park in the right areas.
Our room was well appointed if a bit cramped. It had all the extras that make a stay special. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was excellent! our room was very clean and well-cared for.
The public areas of the hotel are very nice and have orchids throughout–a nice touch. The views from the windows and the restaurant are to die for. It shows Vancouver at it’s best. I would highly recommend this hotel as the shops and the market and restaurants on Granville Island are very good! I recommend using the little water taxi/buses to get to other parts of the city–very efficient and not expensive.

My wife and I spent the weekend in Vancouver attending my son’s graduation. We stayed at Granville Island Hotel due to the location and as a repeat visit for my wife who had stayed previously. The location is excellent and the view of the water is great. The bed was super comfortable and the room was lovely. We did have a couple of nits though mainly related to the service. The bar is in a great location but due to drafts, doors left open, lack of heat, etc. it’s freezing and we found ourselves sitting in our coats in an attempt to keep warm. The service was very slow and the pricing steep. We ordered breakfast which arrived on time but without any condiments (salt & pepper), butter/jam for the toasts, etc. Although we rang down it took them a couple of attempts to bring up the basics (salt/pepper the first trip and then toast condiments the second) by which time the food was cold and offered no apology. We will cut them a break and will likely give them a second chance but for the price I would have expected the service to be better than we encountered.
Everything about the Granville Island Hotel either met or exceeded my expectations. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, great view (harbor side) and wonderful room service from the Dockside Restaurant!

If you are searching for the best hotel in Vancouver, you can end your search now. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable and service is excellent. It’s located in a central area of Vancouver and you can walk to most places like Yaletown etc. Make sure you visit their basement lounge for live jazz and great people watching. The hotel also has a rooftop bar that is one of the hottest places to hang out. But, try not tell too many people about this hotel, we want it to remain a Vancouver secret.

Stayed at the hotel at either end of our trip to Canada. Firstly, the staff are really great, the waiters and the bar staff were so helpful and full of ideas of where to go and what to do. Food in the restaurant was excellent.

The 2nd stay was so much nicer as we had a corner room and it was just so much nicer and brighter.

The rooftop bar was also lovely and the spa looked amazing but unfortunately we couldn’t get a booking.

We just ended our stay at the Georgia and we’re definatley sad to leave. Everything was lovely from the staff to the rooms to the personal touches. We arrived very early off a cruise so our room was not ready however they stored our luggage and were able to check us in 1 hour earlier. We had a Deluxe room which was stunning; plently of storage space, lounge, large TV, mini bar, nespresso machine, king bed, large marble bathroom, enormous shower, heated floors and more. There was a personalised letter on arrival and a welcome message on the TV. When we came back for the evening our room had been set up for bed with slippers out, bottles of water and even wine and raspberries on the table (which i mentioned were my favourite). The pool was lovely, a great size and perfect temperature. We didn’t utilise the gym however it looked well equipped and the spa had a decent service menu. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return

My daughter treated me to a Mothers Day weekend in Vancouver. The hotel experience was excellent. All staff members we dealt with were accommodating and courteous. Our room on the 3rd floor was small, but luxurious. Marble floors, high-end linens, fluffy pillows, and a small balcony overlooking a park and marina on the water. Unfortunately, it was too cold & damp for us to sit out on the restaurant’s waterfront patio, but we’ll do that on another trip.

With hotels in Vancouver being so expensive, this hotel is a great choice because of its fantastic location. Sitting on the corner of Granville Island, you are literally steps away from art galleries, restaurants, bakeries, and the market. The restaurant in the hotel is highly rated but can be quite expensive. For instance when we stayed here the brunch on Sunday was $74.95 a person! Luckily a few steps away and you have many other choices.
We found the staff to be friendly and the rooms to be a bit snug, though we didn’t spend much time in the room anyways since there’s so much to do nearby. A good choice and we would stay here again.

A lovely oasis on bustling Granville Island! We have stayed on numerous occasions over the years and will again in the future. Friendly, professional staff who go out of their way to accommodate, spotless well appointed quiet rooms and a delicious dining room with breathtaking scenery. So much to see and do – all in walking distance or by sea taxi. Renewal for body, mind and spirit. We would never stay anywhere else!

This hotel is just the best with their professional staff and emaculate rooms the service is just fantastic can’t wait to come back again,my mom had a wonderful surprise 80th birthday stay and would like to thank all who made her feel so welcome…

I stay here a few times a year for business and always leave feeling like I have been on vacation… The staff are friendly, attentive, and they seem to know exactly what I need before I do. The hotel is in a prime downtown location, close to great restaurants and shopping. The rooms are my favorite thing about this hotel – spacious, with extremely comfortable beds and very well appointed. I want for nothing when I stay here.
We stayed here in March for about 5 days. Excellent location and on par service. The staff was very warm and friendly. This hotel boasts great restaurant, cafe and ba which was very important for foodies like us.

Excellent location, clean but most of all the staff!! We had some other accommodation issues and they went over and above to accommodate, help us and we felt they truly cared. They let us stay in the room longer then the posted check-out time, continually asked if they could help, and change of shift staff seemed to know our situation and continued the great treatment.

Surrounded by water and yachts, it’s a quintessential, cool Vancouver location on Granville Island. Easy 2 minute walk to Vancouver’s best market and several great, hip restaurants. Boutique hotel with very comfortable, large and well-equipped rooms. Very good restaurant at hotel. Enthusiastic staff throughout. An easy 10 dollar cab ride to downtown for meetings or for the adventurous, a tiny little ferry boat to get you across the the “creek” to downtown. Incredible value.

Quiet and oh-so perfectly located. We had a yummy sit-down breakfast in the hotel on day 1. Other mornings we strolled the 200 yards to Granville Public Market – fresh coffee & oven-fired bagels. The Aquabus took us across to Hornby St in 4 minutes. We walked to blocks to bike rental shop and set off for the day. We cycled the sea wall & around Stanley Park. It was a flat, easy, safe and scenic ride!!!

We checked into the Rosewood early and our room was ready. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were very friendly.

The room was again beautiful, big comfy bed, lounge area, Nespresso machine and very large bathroom. Our room overlooked the city and here is construction work opposite but the noise was not a problem at all.

The outdoor winter bar was really cool and very cosy. And the fitness suite was a real treat. We had breakfast there too which was lovely.

A great base to explore Vancouver and I would definitely recommend and stay again. 5 stars.

Beautiful hotel with comfortable beds and luxurious bathrooms. Impeccable housekeeping; however, avoid the front desk and concierge they will only cause problems with your travel plans all while acting as though they are better than you.

Arrived New Year’s Eve and could not have felt more welcome. We have visited Vancouver many times over the last 8 years and stayed in various centrally located hotels. The Rosewood Georgia is up there with the best and we will most definitely return. Executive room had an amazing bathroom with marble floor and freestanding central bath

This is simply one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The location in the centre of downtown Vancouver is perfect, the rooms are beautifully appointed, spacious and immaculate, the lobby is cozy, elegant and stylish and best of all the staff and service levels are outstanding. Everything was just flawless. There were also lots of lovely extra touches, such as the turn down service each night which included free biscuits and bottled water, the high quality and range of toiletries provided, the teddy bears and kid sized gowns and slippers provided for the children … and the list goes on. The hotel is not cheap, but is in the same price range as many very average and forgettable hotels I’ve stayed in before. It’s such a pleasure to stay in a hotel where management really seems to understand what their guests are looking for. I will definitely be back.

This was a working trip..have stayed here before….perfect location, beautiful hotel, warm welcoming staff…..gracious rooms..it rained sideways for 3 days so the hotel lobby bar was Perfect for drinks &dining….will be back….The Spa is second to none….
A stunning hotel with hands down the best service and attention to detail. I have two young children, and the staff went above and beyond our expectations to make them feel welcome, comfortable and spoiled! It made our stay that much more enjoyable
