Ramada Downtown Vancouver Granville

We booked straight through the hotel and got a great price for a 5 night stay. We were lucky enough to be booked into the sixth floor which I understand to be a good thing. Apparently it can get quite noisy on the lower levels. Very central and close to everything, the rooms were cleaned daily and were comfortable for two people. We both had our own bed, in saying this, the room is quite small, I would not try and fit four people in these rooms despite being advertised as a four person room.
I did have an issue with wifi connection and could only connect downstairs, not a massive deal but was slightly annoying when it came to keeping in touch with friends at home. Overall a good stay in a comfortable hotel.

We were downtown overnight for a Canucks game. The room was clean, well decorated and basic. We had no complaints and the bed was so comfortable! The location of this hotel is optimal. We spent a couple hours at the Morrisey (?) next door to the hotel. It was also great. There is also a loud club, Twelve West on the other side. Neither impeded our sleep. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I booked this hotel for a solo trip and I ended up having a friend join me as well. They had no problems changing my reservation to add a second bed. The location was great, quite close to the metro, and many great places to eat nearby. The room was tiny but well equipped, with a bigger closet, coffee maker, and a great view. The beds were average but still provided a nice cheap place to stay.
All the staff were very nice, easy check in and they let us leave our bags at check out so we could explore the city. I would have no problem staying here again.

The location of the hotel is right downtown, and it is great for someone who wants to visit Vancouver. The hotel is also very close to car rental shops (such as Herts), restaurants and shops. It has a private parking, but you need to reserve on time because space is limited.

People at the reception are particularly rude and unhelpful.
The rooms of the hotel are very old and they smell “funny” (dusty). Not the best, not the worst. Otherwise they are clean.
Definitely not a great deal for the money you pay.

GEC Granville Suites

This hotel was in a great location in Vancouver. Fairly reasonably priced with free wifi & parking. Was a little noisy with the street & rooms and our toilet got blocked but aside from that it was clean & tidy.

Got this hotel at a great price on Expedia and though I’d give it a shot.
Turned out to be an awesome hotel, large rooms, fairly new, clean and modern renos to the rooms.
White Spot Restaurant is attached
Its a little far, on the far end of downtown.

I stayed here once before when it was the Best Western and my first time stay since it changed hands to the GEC. The rooms are an ok size – not huge but not cramped. The rooms and the lobby are very clean and it’s in a central location in Vancouver. For the price I found it a very decent value and the parking was free although I was told by the front desk reception that is only until March of 2017.

Comfort Inn Downtown Vancouver

Comfort Inn Downtown Vancouver is a tremendously great value for the money. The location is prime and within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, theaters, and sporting arenas.

The staff is extremely friendly. The hotel also provides free Coffee, Tea, water, and computer access in the lobby. We were also able to hold our bags at no charge both before our room was ready and after we checked out. Upon check in we were given free 2 wine coupons per person to the Belmont Bar next to the hotel.

Parking is in the open lot next door. Not sure on the charge as we did not have a car.

The rooms are on the smaller side but not too small. Coffee and tea are also available in your room. Bed was comfortable. Our room faced in and we had a view of the other buildings (we were not street facing).

The hotel was locked down at night requiring a key card to access the stairways and elevators for the rooms. Elevators and rooms all used a keyless entry via room card.

With that being said here are the cons for hotel… Comfort Inn is located in a high traffic area surrounded by bars and homeless. With that being said some people may feel uncomfortable however I never felt threatened. Being in a bar area, it can get noisy especially on Friday or Saturday nights. My room faced inwards and I did not hear any noise coming from the street however I did hear a subtle sound from the Irish bar under the hotel at night (although it wasn’t overbearing for me). Some other reviews have indicated that this can be a poor experience if your room faces the street. Finally, the elevator is very small and slow. If it breaks down then it could be inconvenient especially for guests on the higher floors.

The hotel is right around the corner from 24 hour places such as 7-11 and Tim Horton’s . It is also down the street from a Nester’s Market and countless bars and restaurants.

Overall I would stay at Comfort Inn again.

Best Western Chateau Granville Hotel Vancouver

My family loved the suites. They all had great balcony views of the street. So much space with fridge microwave too! Parking was easy in and out one day fee that’s easy!! The staff was super friendly and full of smiles. CHeers to the Brazilian fellow who helped us get our luggage from basement! Obrigado!

We arrived at Chateau Granville for our second stay on December 21, 2016 a late check in for 7 nights. We booked a deluxe room – 2 double beds, mini refrigerator & microwave.
Room 902 is your basic suite. Bedroom, 2 double beds, dresser and large screen TV.
Living area included a pull out sofa bed and chair, large screen TV, desk & chair, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with supplies replenished daily.
Chateau Granville is located within walking distance to many dining places, shops, the Pacific Mall, cinemas, waterfront, BC Place, Queen Elizabeth Theatre (ballet/opera) The Orpheum (symphony), Fly over Canada attraction and many more.
Daily housekeeping & linens are changed on 3rd day.
There is a restaurant (Edge Grille) on the main level. We elected to go elsewhere for our meals.
Overall we enjoyed our stay in Vancouver and will surely return.

Observations:
In winter the heating seemed inadequate, as the room was chilly.
2 Elevators: very old, very slow, outdated – upgrade badly needed.
Front desk staff could be more friendly – aloof.

Housekeeping fallen down:
– On our arrival we found many hairs from prior guests on the floor, sink and toilet areas.
– Even after daily housekeeping the hairs remained there.
– TV’s area was a bit dusty.
– Carpet area by the sofa bed/coffee table had a sticky residue that was never cleaned.
– Cleaning skipped for microwave.

Great price for a room, had a comfy bed and standard amenities. Rooms were well insulated, didn’t hear much from neighbours. Quick walk from the Skytrain and easy to walk to downtown attractions. Safe and clean.

I work downtown and live in Langley. We had a show to got o and rather than go all the way home late we decided to stay downtown. Got a killer deal at this hotel and really didn’t have the greatest expectations.
We were pleasantly surprised at the lovely room we stayed. No noise…bed so comfy I slept like a baby. Fantastic hot water even at 7 AM and wonderful massage type shower head. Super clean. Lovely pub downstairs. Different specials daily. Great little single cup coffee maker that uses tiny filters. We loved it. I read negative reviews. We simply experienced nothing negative. Lovely girls and gentlemen at the desk and we are actually going to come back next month and do it again!!

Was a very good experience. Great location. Sky train only 2 min walk away. Close to all the downtown activities. Hotel is clean friendly staff. Easy checkin and check out. Will definitely be recommending to family and friends

have stayed here often and will continue to do so. The staff is welcoming and helpful, very knowledgeable about the area/attractions etc. The rooms and all around maintenance is clean. It is easily accessible to transit and has monitored parking. It is not fancy but it has the comforts of home and all that is needed for a pleasant stay.

The front desk ladies was not very nice, as a matter of fact they did not even smile, they were not helpful at all. We left the rooms in good condition, I cleaned rooms before we checked out and there was no damage at all to the rooms and my visa got charged $120. I will never stay here again.

I had a very good experience staying at the Howard Johnson in downtown Vancouver. I stayed there after arriving late on an international flight to the Vancouver Airport. I was pleased to arrive at the hotel to a pleasant staff member, who was very friendly and helpful. The room was good, the bed very comfortable and the location was close to everything downtown. I had a very good stay in large part to the excellent staff. Thank you

GEC Granville Suites

First of all, this hotel exceeded my expectations by a mile. The check in staff was nice and when I arrived, It was too early to check in and so they held my luggage while I went to explore Vancouver. Once I got to my room, it looked exactly like the photos and it was pretty clean except for the bathroom. There was urine on the toilet. The location was great with a bus stop with multiple lines within less than a minute walk from the hotel. There are 2 subway stations within around 10ish minutes from the hotel (Vancouver City Center and Yaletown Roundhouse). The Main Street to the Vancouver City Center Station, Granville Street, does look a little shady so I do prefer using the Yaletown Roundhouse station especially at night times. I also slipped on the bathtub and thankfully only broke my nail and didnt hurt anything else. The bathtub is extremely slippery so remember to use the mat that they provide. I was just stupid not to use it because it did look pretty brown and dirty. The only other thing would be that the cleaners would came knocking at my door at 10am to clean the room. I was about to leave and so she was very accommodating and said she would be back after I leave. I thought 10am seemed a little early but maybe I’m just a late bird. Other than that, for the price I paid for(around $50/night tax included) I can’t complain at all. It was a nice and comfortable hotel with nice decor and in a great city center location. I’d highly recommend it!

The place is a great deal for the location.Hotel rooms are small but you cannot expect more at such a location in downtown. The hotel is at Nelson and Granville and hence all the pubs, bars, eateries and shopping places are at walking distance. Some homeless people can be seen below the hotel but that is all around downtown. The staff at the reception is very helpful and will help you best possible with all your questions.I had a room on the 3d floor and it was not noisy from the pub downstairs.Overall highly recommend and will stay again

The location is excellent! And also what you get for what you are paying! Compared to other hotels in the area is really good.
Breakfast is good not only cold dishes, eggs and more included. The room and bed so comfortable.

Excellent service and very helpful staff. Great location with ease to take the very convenient public transport. The room was very clean with great service. Staff went out of their way to assist in guidance for travelling around Vancouver.

Very clean, and there is a lot to do within walking distance. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and colleagues. The king suite was very spacious and the restaurant serves the BEST prime rib burger.
My husband and I stayed here early this week. We stay for two nights. The room we stayed in had a King Bed, and a separate area with a pull out couch. The bathroom was simple and clean – but could use a little TLC. There is a balcony with some nice views of the harbour. The hotel is located in an average neighbourhood in Van City. There is a restaurant in the lobby which is good – but closes early. Many spots to walk to for food though. Two blocks away from Pacific Centre. $16 a night for underground parking.
