Marriott Vancouver Pinnacle Hotel

made our reservation last November for the SeaWheeze 1/2 Marathon The reservation is for 3 adults. We show up at 4:30 for check in and they give us a room with one king size bed, saying it is the only room available. BS could go online and book a room with 2 double beds, Just got a call, suddenly “a family checked out early” and they had a room.
Again I call BS they were holding rooms for parties of 4 and after 6 pm released some.

The Reception desk was extremely helpful when we arrived early! The room was very comfortable and the Concierge service was exceptional. The Location is perfect – very central – within walking distance to “Canada Place” – great place to stay!

The Marriott Pinnacle Downtown as great service. Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful. It’s buzzing with people and a lot of action in the lobby and around the hotel. It’s close to Canada Place. Easy walk to shopping. Rooms are comfortable. The bell hops are especially helpful.

Lord Stanley Suites On The Park

My family rented an apartment in this building for two nights. The moment we opened the door, we realized that the pictures were taken at angles that made the room look much bigger than it was. We had a one bedroom place on the 5th floor and it was so small. For a couple without kids, it would have been fine for space. We ended up putting one of our kids in the main bedroom, the other one in the weird little office room that you could barely turn around in, and then we slept on the hide-a-bed.

Because we faced a busy street, we could hear traffic noise all night, especially on the weekend. It kept us up a bit.

Overall, the amenities were fine. The kitchen had everything we needed. The laundry was good. The view was nice. But as a family, we were on top of each other the entire time. There is a small glassed in little patio that seemed like a complete waste of space but my kids enjoyed using it as a dining room and play area.

The hotel staff were great and very friendly. And you can’t beat the location. It’s right across the street from Stanley Park, which is exactly where we wanted to be and was very convenient for us. It’s also right off Denman, which has lots of restaurants, coffee shops, etc.

The biggest complaint I have isn’t the space or traffic noise. It was the condition of the room. And from reading other reviews, it seems to be a common theme – they are really run down. Major dents and scratches on the walls. Old carpet. Stained furniture. Vertical blinds that didn’t cover the windows very well and let in a ton of light. A portable air conditioner just in one room. Very outdated bathroom with old tiles and strangely stained grout.

It was disappointing, especially for the price we paid. But then again, we were clearly paying for location.

Would we stay here again, even if it was just two of us? Probably not unless we got an incredible deal. Next time, I think we will try one of the other locations around there and see what they have to offer. Maybe all locations around the park are like this but can charge a premium. But I think we will take that chance and see.

We we looking for an executive apartment hotel for a week near Stanley Park. While searching, this place came up…must say that I was dubious at first, for we had never heard of it. The reviews on TA were good, and the hotel met all of our criteria. Well let me tel you that the hotel surpassed our expectations. Firstly, the hotel staff is courteous and extremely helpful. Secondly, the hotel is spotless and rooms, whilst a little tired, are clean, comfortable and well appointed and quiet. Thirdly, the hotel is central to everything, and if need be, the bus routes are a 3 min walk from the hotel. The rooms are cleaned daily, toiletries replenished, towels exchanged and laundry soap replenished everyday – yes there is an en-suite washer and dryer. The is free wifi and parking. There is also a gym and a pool (though we didn’t use them). ***insider tip: if you book directly through the hotel website, your breakfast is included for all room guests***. Lucky that we booked that way. We were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. Highly recommended for families, couples and business travellers. We will return. Great value for money

Loden Hotel Vancouver

I enjoyed my stay at the Loden, the room was clean, comfortable and well designed for a 6 night stay. The hotel staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. The location from all the amenities and attractions Vancouver is perfect. I highly recommend staying there.

This is a chic, well-styled hotel with super friendly staff and a great downtown location. The service is exceptional and the special touches were much appreciated, such as water and chocolates when the beds were turned down, complimentary bike rentals, and upon arrival, free drinks and appetizers in the adjoining restaurant (since our room was not ready). Room service was good and quick. My only complaint was noise from an adjoining room, so they may need to look into insulating the doors in-between rooms.

We really enjoyed staying at this design hotel right in the center of Vancouver. Easy walking distance to most sights yet in a rather calm street. Nice staff, even though early check in was not possible. Room nice and comfortable, however not spotless clean. Dust in bathroom and next to beds. Restaurant is great, went there for both dinner and breakfast. For breakfast nice selection but they are very strict on the 10 am end, by 9.30 am they were out of croissants. Had to ask various times for new plates, more milk and orange juice. Very good value though at 18 dollars including drinks.

Our family stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. We stayed in three different rooms and all rooms were clean and well equipped. The rooms are enormous and the views were nice. It is located near lots of restaurants. They are discontinuing the continental breakfast which is fine – the delicious Tim Horton’s is right across the street. We used the shuttle to the cruise port – they were right on time, helpful with luggage and friendly. We had several questions and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The workout facility was well equipped and the kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. This hotel is a great deal!!!
Stayed here 2 nights prior to cruise to check out Vancouver. Hotel is in safe area of town. Walking distance to food places & areas check out & see the sites. Our hotel room, 1624, was clean and tidy for 6. Breakfast was all mostly carb based, muffins bread, croissants, bagels and some cereal & juices. The almond croissants are Amazing!!!!!!!! I took some each day for eating as a snack later in the day. I will miss them the most. Pool was good sized. Workout equipment all worked. Would stay here again.
Loved the location and room itself, although housekeeping was mediocre. Room was dusty, fridge had had a previous spill in it which wasn’t wiped out and left door sticky. Little enclosed sunroom provided beautiful view of city, once we cleaned the windows ourselves. Three pillows weren’t cased, and many drawers were dusty and had hairs in them. Front desk staff were stiff and standoffish, at one point telling my daughter and friends, who were taking the shuttle, that the place they wanted to go didn’t exist (it did, which they proved to him on the map) The shuttle driver we had on Monday and Tuesday was amazing. Incredibly friendly and helpful. The street noise Saturday night was a little loud, even 14 floors up, but that was to be expected on a weekend. The rest of the nights were quiet.
Overall, we enjoyed the spacious room and great location of hotel. Amenities were good, pool was always stocked and clean. Would stay again.

Hyatt Regency Hotel Vancouver

Stayed at the Hyatt the night before and after a cruise. Speedy check in and checkout process. Rooms were very clean- on both separate occasions (that we stayed there). It was very easy to get a cab to the cruise terminal; we simply stepped out of the door and the bellman called a cab over. There is a nicer restaurant and a Starbucks within the hotel. There is also a fast food breakfast place next door to the right and to the left, a Staples. If it is shopping or sight seeing that you want, head to Tiffany & Co, just a few hundred feet away or a head out the front door and make a left and walk down to the Vancouver Harbor. Stop by the Gelato place just on the corner, right before you head down to look at the harbor. Don’t worry, you’ll know where it is when you see a line of people out the door. Loved Vancouver, definitely will be back to visit!

Customer service is back at this hotel. Lightning quick and competent staff. The elevator system alone is enough to set this one apart but it is also very clean and cared for, minimalistic décor is refreshing. I rarely give a full 5 for a hotel but the staff and technology at this hotel make it stand apart. I will be back to this hotel.

This is like many other Hyatt Hotels I have stayed in so far: They are usually well equipped, huge and in the center of downtown. This one is no different.
Only comment I have to make: The pricing during weekend in May was incredible high. I guess this is more or less the case anywhere in the world during peak season, but what really drives me nuts is, that you are supposed to pay 300$ a night and this is neither including breakfast nor parking. It is incredible how much money is generated in North American hotels with these extras.
But that is just my opinion. I stayed on points this time. If I would have to be paying that much, I most probably would have chosen a cheaper B&B.

L’Hermitage Hotel Vancouver

Great hotel! Rooms are beautifully appointed and very spacious. Mine had lovely large opening windows and the gas fireplace was a lovely touch. The dining room was like a comfortable private club room and the breakfast had everything I wanted. The staff were all friendly and helpful. To top it off the lap pool is salt and perfectly heated.

My husband, I stayed at L’Hermitage Hotel three weeks ago. The experience was unexpected perfection. We are familiar with pretty hotels and good service but, the L’Hermitage raised the bar on almost every level.

The hotel is tasteful, The business office, lounge and breakfast areas are all well appointed and refined without being stuffy. The suites lack for nothing but what brings it all home is the customer service. From the people who checked us in, (and I need to give a special thanks to Elena) to every member of the staff, we were provided with superior, caring attention. We used to consider hotels a base to explore wherever we were visiting; now I understand how much a hotel can create and add to a vacation.

This lovely boutique hotel has beautiful rooms, an excellent location and such great service (especially Steven at the front desk whose suggestions were invaluable) that it truly made our vacation. We were sorry to leave!

Hotel Blu Vancouver

We booked a room here for a big anniversary trip. The room was beautiful. The “fishbowl” shower that has been described does come with a shade for privacy, so that wasn’t a problem. In fact, the shower was lovely. We had a little balcony and enjoyed a few meals out there, looking out on the stadium and the high rises that line false creek. In the package we booked, there was no breakfast included (though we were given one complimentary ticket for breakfast on our first day). The buffet is gourmet–lots of amazing baked goods. But it’s expensive–$21 per person. The room was quiet–partly because of the air conditioning’s white noise . . . and that’s where our only problem was. The weather (mid-July) was great while we were in Vancouver–72-82 the whole 10 days. And the A/C worked like a dream for the first four days, but then it just stopped. There was a fan, but the temperature in the room rose throughout the day to about 78 and didn’t ever seem to go down. I called the front desk and they sent someone up. He said that the A/C was working (it wasn’t), and that our problem was that we had set the thermostat too low (68). He suggested we set it at 71 and that would somehow get things moving again. It didn’t. The next day, I called again and that evening we came home to a fan sitting at the foot of our bed. Even with the fan, the temperature in the room was in 77-79 degrees. It was cooler in the hallway and significantly cooler outside! Obviously, for the rate we were paying I had hoped for a more effective response to our complaint. I thought perhaps they’d give us a break on the room–a discount for the 6 days without A/C, but no. They said that, because we booked the room with Expedia, there was no way they could give us a discount. I guess the lesson here is to request a room change if your A/C goes out.

This hotel has rooms that accommodate 5 with 2 queens and a single bed. Location is ideal. Easy walk to Granville Island and Robson Street, etc. Cost was more reasonable. This hotel is very large. 3 elevator shafts and has a good pool and workout room. It would be difficult not to choose it again when in Vancouver.

Family of 4, stayed here two nights after an Alaskan cruise. Very convenient location- within walking distance to many restaurants and shops, as well as public transportation. Very helpful front desk, and also a concierge desk with helpful advice, maps, and directions. An unexpected bonus. Very small elevators (European size) but large rooms (American size), very clean, and yes, very small bathrooms. Small but deep pool, no hot tub. Mini fridge and coffee maker in rooms. Staff here was great, noise level is high between rooms and to outdoors (can hear traffic, sirens, etc). Would stay here again. FYI, breakfast is not free as it is in State’s Holiday Inns. Tim Hortons on every corner. When in Canada…..

This hotel is a great location for downtown Vancouver. It is close to city transportation, the staff is friendly, and the hotel is very clean. We stayed there prior to an Alaskan cruise since it is close to the sea port. The staff was very helpful to arrange transportation, assist in city tours, and recommend local activities and restaurants. They have a small restaurant on site that offers a decent breakfast buffet. They do not offer shuttle service from the Vancouver International Airport but taxi service is available at a fixed rate, our cost was 40 Canadian for 5 of us. Overall a great choice.

Hampton Inn Vancouver

LOCATION: This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, a block from BC Place stadium.

GETTING THERE: If driving, take route 1A to Beatty Street and take a right. The hotel is two blocks down Beatty, on the right. If flying to Vancouver, the best way to get to the hotel is by taxi, which will run about C$35. Another option is to take the SkyTrain from the airport to either the Yaletown or Chinatown station, followed by taking a taxi or walking. (It would take less than 10 minutes to walk from either station to the hotel.)

STAFF: My wife and I cannot say enough about the staff of the hotel, who went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The staff in the breakfast room is very attentive and even brought around a cart with drinks on them. The front desk staff provided my wife and me with all kinds of wonderful information about how to get from one place to another. They even gave us with coupons to the Vancouver Aquarium!

Another bonus is the shuttle that will take people to various parts of downtown. Anyone wishing to use the shuttle will need to make a reservation in advance – though my wife and I sometimes made it at the last minute and had no trouble getting someone to drive us within 30 minutes. Also, the shuttle offers only drop-off service, not pick-up.

ROOMS: This hotel offers good-sized rooms, many of them with a view of BC Place. The room in which my wife and I stayed had a flat-screen TV, king-sized bed, desk, two chairs, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. There was ample storage space, and inside the closet was a safe for valuables.

FACILITIES: This hotel has a decent-sized lobby, where one can get a variety of Canadian newspapers as well as the Seattle Times. On the second floor is a business center with a printer. The third floor is where the breakfast room is. The breakfast includes a wide variety of hot and cold items – some of which change – including omelettes, scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, sausage, potatoes, cereal, breads, pastries, juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, and oatmeal. The room is open after breakfast hours – though the part where breakfast is served is closed off – allowing people to use it for work or relaxation. One can also find several newspapers there for reading.

The fitness center is on the top floor of the hotel. Here, one will find elliptical machines, a standard and a recumbent bike, treadmills, stretching balls, table tennis, mats, dumbbells up to 50 pounds, two adjustable benches, a short barbell with 30 pounds of free weights, and two multi-use machines with weight stacks. Additionally, one will find in the fitness center a whirlpool and sauna. Those wanting a nice view of the city can go out glass doors from the fitness center onto the rooftop. My one complaint is that the multi-use machine with the bench press on it needs to be replaced: the pin to set the weight does not always go in properly, the bench is locked at an include, and the pull-down is designed for behind-the-neck pulls, which is not proper form.

INTERNET ACCESS: Internet is complimentary.

PARKING: There is a fee for parking.

TIP 1: The bus, seabus, and SkyTrain are all linked to the same system. If you plan do a lot of traveling during any single day via public transport, get a one-day pass, as it will save you money.

TIP 2: If looking for shopping and places to eat, Robson Street, on which the hotel is located, is known for its numerous stores and restaurants

The location is really good though it might seem a bit seedy at the beginning but we felt really safe. There are many taxis usually outside the hotel, and the hop on hop off bus stops near the hotel. You leave the hotel, turn right and then left, 10 minute walk and you are in the heart of the town. Leave the hotel, turn right and then right again and you are on your way to beautiful Granville, actually one of my favorite areas in Vancouver. The staff is very helpful with directions. Breakfast is in White Spot, a Canadian version of Denny’s perhaps a bit more upscale. They have very good choices on the menu, or you can have breakfast in one the restaurants nearby, and there are many.
I would stay again in the hotel for the comfort and the location.

Beautiful rooms and facilities in this totally redone hotel. The roof top gardens are a treat and so is the fully appointed kitchen too. Great service and tips on how and where to see the sites. I’d go there again in a flash.

The hotel itself isn’t really that fancy, but for the price in downtown Vancouver, its not that awful. The elevator takes an engineering degree to figure out because sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not Then, sometimes you don’t need your room key, sometimes you do. At least in my case it did 🙂 The room was adequate, nothing too fancy. The bed was comfortable and fairly large. The one area that could really be improved, but would be hard to figure out is parking. When you arrive for check-in, trying to find somewhere to park is the wildest adventure. I ended up looping around the block like 8 times because they have no available street parking, usually. They also don’t have anywhere to park near the front. I eventually just watched a taxi pull up on the sidewalk to the front door to let someone out. I followed suit and just parked up on the sidewalk ramp, checked-in, was given the parking garage key, and went from there.
