The Burrard Hotel Vancouver

The hotel is older and could use a tiny bit of maintenance. However, it was super clean and comfortable. The courtyard was beautiful and I loved the little touches that they put around the place like the cute little signage. The staff was friendly and there was complimentary bottled water and coffee in the room. The location was good too. We were easily able to walk to the main shopping streets. The only downside was the $35 a night for parking!

We go into Vancouver quite regularly and have stayed in many different hotels and decided to try the Burrard for the first time via a Be Vancouver promotion. We stayed two nights and loved the place! The front desk staff are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms, although not as spacious as other hotels we’ve stayed in have everything you need for a comfortable stay and are absolutely spotless. It has a very “retro” feel to it and I really enjoyed the courtyard with the trees lit up, the open fire pit and the music. I felt like I was in a tropical resort when we walked into the courtyard despite the chilly Vancouver weather. The wi-fi is free along with complimentary bikes and they even offer a pass to the nearby Steve Nash although I didn’t make use of that. There is a coffee shop and restaurant on either side. Had a nice chat with the maid as well who was also very personable. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location. Small & intimate. Bedding & towels were top notch. Nice & in new condition. Bed was double sheeted which we really like. Wi-Fi worked great. Good TV lots of channels. New TV. Bathroom was spotless. Expensive fixtures nice and shiny. Quiet. Helpful staff at front desk. We were only there for 1 night and arrived about 8:30 so no time to use amenities. Appointment in the am and checkout right after that so again no time to use amenities. Next time we will use the free bicycles and tour around. Only downside is the $35 parking fee. But hotel price is reasonable so for one who does not have a car to park it is great. Add on the parking fee and it is still more reasonable than other hotels in the area.

The location is really good though it might seem a bit seedy at the beginning but we felt really safe. There are many taxis usually outside the hotel, and the hop on hop off bus stops near the hotel. You leave the hotel, turn right and then left, 10 minute walk and you are in the heart of the town. Leave the hotel, turn right and then right again and you are on your way to beautiful Granville, actually one of my favorite areas in Vancouver. The staff is very helpful with directions. Breakfast is in White Spot, a Canadian version of Denny’s perhaps a bit more upscale. They have very good choices on the menu, or you can have breakfast in one the restaurants nearby, and there are many.
I would stay again in the hotel for the comfort and the location.

Beautiful rooms and facilities in this totally redone hotel. The roof top gardens are a treat and so is the fully appointed kitchen too. Great service and tips on how and where to see the sites. I’d go there again in a flash.

The hotel itself isn’t really that fancy, but for the price in downtown Vancouver, its not that awful. The elevator takes an engineering degree to figure out because sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not Then, sometimes you don’t need your room key, sometimes you do. At least in my case it did 🙂 The room was adequate, nothing too fancy. The bed was comfortable and fairly large. The one area that could really be improved, but would be hard to figure out is parking. When you arrive for check-in, trying to find somewhere to park is the wildest adventure. I ended up looping around the block like 8 times because they have no available street parking, usually. They also don’t have anywhere to park near the front. I eventually just watched a taxi pull up on the sidewalk to the front door to let someone out. I followed suit and just parked up on the sidewalk ramp, checked-in, was given the parking garage key, and went from there.

Days Inn Vancouver Downtown

I spent one night at the hotel and as a solo traveler I find i get small rooms but no matter – staff were helpful, air conditioning worked and I spent most of the evening walking around downtown so I wasnt put off by the size of my room. It is a very good value for a downtown Vancouver hotel. You can walk anywhere. I had breakfast and it was tasty, prepared quickly and the hostess had a smile and a paper for me. I noticed there were several guests who were heading out on Alaska cruise ships and thats a good sign too – the cruise lines want their passengers to start on the right note 🙂

Days Inn is very well located in downtown, perfect for a few days sightseeing. Our room though was quite dated. The aircon system was very noisy so you couldn’t leave it on at night, we left the windows open which was ok but still a bit stuffy.

When booking this hotel I was looking for the catch, as the price was much lower than any hotels in the area. i looked at the pictures and said the rooms look fine. However once i checked into the hotel and saw my room I found the “catch”. Pictures can be deceiving.

The Burrard Hotel Vancouver

The Burrard is the only place I stay. I come to Vancouver for business conferences and to see my daughter and I never go anywhere else. It is a great hotel, minimal but with everything you need and super comfortable. And surprisingly – for the location – exceptionally quiet.

The staff are too notch, very welcoming and helpful. The location is convenient (walking) to shopping, the gallery but maybe not the best of restaurants. The free bikes were the clincher for me, wanted to tour Stanley Park but it was winter so they were in maintenance which would have been good to know in advance. The style is quirky and retro cool but my room was a little tired. Dec 2013, copying across previous reviews.

During my visit to Vancouver in june 2017, my wife and I stayed in Hotel Burrard on Burrard Street for a few days. This is a small hotel with no restaurent. It is ideally located in Downtown Vancouver, with Canada Place 12 minutes walk( cruise ship terminal) and 8 min walk from Hyatt Regency Hotel( from where most of the coach tours start). There are lots of eating options within 10 min walk. Reception is very helpful, only sometimes you may have carry your bags to your room. Rooms are small, I had 6 pieces of small and medium size bags and there was no room to walk. . I had prepaid the room charges online, even then the Hotel charged my credit card with Can$.100, which they reversed subsequently.

What won us to this place was a free parking promotion they were running in March when we booked for July. It didn’t disappoint, though. We’re right in the heart of the city, with easy access to everything we wanted to do (Stanley Park, Granville Island) by bus.

The hot tub in the Penthouse is lovely. Our room was clean, and surprisingly quiet for being right in the heart of Vancouver. Now, we were on the 8th floor, so I’m not sure if that would have been true on or nearer to the ground.

On the Penthouse as well, there’s a full service kitchen (you may want to bring your own forks — they only had two!) that we didn’t know about when booking, but we were thrilled to find! We cooked our dinners in there each night and saved a pile of money that way! There’s also a little rooftop terrace with a great view of the city from 12 floors up right off the kitchen.

We even discovered that there’s a common use ping pong table in the lobby area on our last night there! Cool!

The only thing I will say that was a bit disappointing was that it was difficult to unload luggage from the parking garage, as the elevator starts at parking level 1 and there are only stairs up from level 2. Also, having to use keys EVERYWHERE (even on the elevator to be able to push the buttons) was a little annoying, especially since our key cards magnetized several times and we had to keep replacing them. These things would certainly not stop me from staying here again, though!

We stayed in July 2017. The rooms were nothing special – I’d even say below average towels, bathroom amenities etc. But the Wifi was good, front desk staff very helpful and parking is available. The area is just a short walk and ferry ride to Granville Island. grocery store just a few blocks away. HotTub is tiny (2 people max). beds/pillows are average to below-average.

If your Vancouver stay will include Stanley Park, Nightlife (Gastown, Yaletown) and Granville Island – great place to stay. If your plans include items NORTH like Capilano, Grouse Mtn, Whistler etc, then you may want to stay north of the Lions Gate bridge. This bridge is bumper-to-bumper every day. Morning and Evening.

Nice small hotel beds and pillows good. AC very loud. Internet not good, could not see at night Netflix and other programs from Ipad. Reception desk nice people.
Parking too far away and expensive. Unfortunately I had to leave a day earlier but there was no credit or refund…should not be like that. probably will not use that property again

We chose this location because it was close to Canada Place where we would leave for our cruise the next day. Our first impression when we walked into the lobby was good, especially the staff. After that is declined.

The hotel is dated and the halls were extremely warm on our way to the room. Upon entering the room we were surprised with how large the room was and the bathroom as well. However, the wallpaper was peeling and the ceiling showed water damage in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and we slept well, but unfortunately that didn’t make up for the other flaws.

They have a breakfast place in the basement that they give you a coupon for, but I would advise that you avoid this place for breakfast. The moment we sat down we noticed people were annoyed and agitated. This gave us the impression that the service was slow. Our impression was spot on and it was slow, but for what it’s worth there was an older couple running it and I felt bad for them because it was super busy. With that being said the food was horrible, burnt and metallic tasting.

Overall not very impressed except with the staff who were very helpful, including the older couple in the breakfast room.

Great location in downtown Vancouver, unless you want to spend over $300 for a nicer room. Super helpful and friendly people at the front desk. Yes, bed is a little soft, but if you are jet lagged, you will still have a sound night sleep. Very close to restaurants, shopping, Stanley Park, the cruiseport, and other fun things to do.

The Burrard Hotel Vancouver

We stayed at the Burrard for four nights. The rooms were modern and funky and close to the actions of Davies street (gayberhood). If you’re looking for a well priced hotel in a central location then this is your hotel!

I was looking for value for my money. I had a medical appointment on the same street so location was excellent. Room was tiny but very adequate. My room faced an empty lot out back where people hung out and some slept over. It was noisy at times with the window open but it did not bother me. I requested a back room to be away from street noise. I was unable to use the bikes but it is a very good perk. The coutyard in the middle is comfortable and the plants made the hotel inviting. There is a coffee shop downstairs a restaurant next door and an IGA a couple of blocks away. Beach a few blocks away and bus route on corner; it is a steep walk back. Major downtown streets are very close with many restaurants nearby. I have Celiac disease and had some difficulty accessing gluten free restaurants for breakfast. The Burgoo next door does have gfree options. Overall it provides value for money and I would stay again.

very good hotel, well located in Vancouver downtown. Not expensive compared to other hotels.
It was very clean, the bed was comfortable. We liked the green patio!
Staff was nice and helpful. Free bikes to travel and visit the city.

We stayed in a two double beds room with microwave, fridge, coffee maker and water boiler. It was very convenient as the breakfast is not included so we could have some food in the morning without leaving the hotel. There is a White Spot restaurant at the hotel and gives 10% discount for hotel guests.
The room is spacious and clean. We had everything we needed for a nice stay, if you like walking everything is at walking distance. Very close to Yaletown, about 30 minutes walk to Telus World of Science, Waterfront, Granville Island, etc.
Granville Street is not a nice area, there are many closed stores, many homeless people and feels decadent. You can get to the hotel through parallel streets though, they are much nicer and feels safer

This apartment stay is comfortable with a restaurant next to the lobby. My room has a microwave and coffee making facilities. It’s about 15 mins down Granville Street to downtown Hudson Bay and department stores and lots of food trucks along the way, so it’s suitably situated. The advice for the shower is turn the tap all the way around then back to get the right temperature.
Stayed at GEC from Thursday to Sunday Local traveller downtown Vancouver for weekend convention. Front desk staff are very friendly. Rooms recently renovated. Clean and spacious. Convenient free parking and great location close to everything in downtown Vancouver!

The staff was very helpful and even got us into our room at least 4 hours earlier than the scheduled check-in time. The only downside was that our room smelled of stale mop water which never went away.

Had two showers in both cases no hot water at all. Front staff was not rude but certainly didn’t make you feel welcome and the room looked to be the same since the building was built. Very good location and good price but next time I’ll spend the $40 more to stay at a hotel not an overpriced hostel. To clarify I stayed in a 1 bed room. If there was a breakfast the staff did not notify me.

DO YOUR RESEARCH IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN TO DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER!!! This hotel is a heritage building or at least 100 years old. There is no onsite parking or valet. We came via Sky-train, carry luggage and a last minute change occurred that the hotel accommodated us nicely.

Had the 8th floor super large rooms. Original hardwood flooring, brand new bathroom, hot water was plentiful and it fit the bill nicely for our requirements. Had a continental breakfast, again not fancy but fueled us up for the morning!

Not a fancy hotel by any means, but clean, quiet, safe and easy access to all things downtown Vancouver. Have booked same room for 2018 Vancouver function.
