Ramada Downtown Vancouver Granville

This hotel is barely downtown it’s not walking distance to anything. It’s on Granville which I have now learned is a very dirty and unsafe street full of drifters, drug addicts, prostitutes and bars. There is a bar right beside the hotel that keeps their music cranked until 330 in the morning so don’t count on getting any sleep. When I stayed here the fire alarm was also broken and went off 3 times through the night. They charge $18 extra for valet parking as their parking lot is a complete joke and only fits about 20 cars. There are lots less than a block away that charge half or less the amount they do for parking. When we arrived the front of the hotel smelled like urine as someone had urinated on the street directly outside the front door. This is not a part of town to bring your kids. The free breakfast is at the bar beside the hotel, a run down hole with terrible staff. You can have eggs or pancakes. Toast with no butter and serve yourself warm tap water to drink. DO NOT touch the fruit or juice!

Just your regular downtown hotel. Nothing fancy but clean and friendly service. Close to the city center, no car or transportation needed. Valet parking $18,45 a day which is normal for Vancouver. Rooms okay air conditioning etc. Breakfast not included but possible at $10.

The hotel is shabby and not in the best part of downtown. The club next door is loud and has a crazy vibe. There are quite a few homeless people around. Gas town and the waterfront aren’t really in walking distance.

Opus Hotel Vancouver

Super clean hotel ! Spacious inviting room with a beautiful fireplace & a spacious modern bathroom . Excellent hotel staff ! Thank you to each & every one of your staff for being so friendly knowledgeable & accommodating . Our three nights stay after an Alaskan cruise were not long enough to explore this awesome hotel or the Italian restaurant or Vancouver itself since we had 3 different long 10-14 hours excursions ! The coffee shop connected to Opus served us well in the mornings , good coffee & orange juice & quick excellent breakfast choices !! We highly recommend Opus to anyone visiting Vancouver !!! Looking forward to a near future visit , to experience the fine italian dinning & to ride the Opus bikes by the water ( 5 minutes away ) & to explore Stanley Park & glorious Vancouver !!

We had the most marvellous stay at the Opus this week. Our room was clean and smart and suited our family perfectly. The hotel is in a fabulous neighborhood within walking distance of all kinds of restaurants and transportation options. What really made our experience perfect was the amazing hotel staff ! They provided great recommendations of what to see and do, were fun and funny and really made us feel at home. The service they provided was truly over the top. We have never experienced a hotel with a better staff and would stay at the Opus again in a heartbeat.

Excellent people. We had an extreme accident and they were very accommodating with all our needs. We will definitely return under better circumstances and want to thank them and enjoy this beautiful city.

Lord Stanley Suites On The Park

My family rented an apartment in this building for two nights. The moment we opened the door, we realized that the pictures were taken at angles that made the room look much bigger than it was. We had a one bedroom place on the 5th floor and it was so small. For a couple without kids, it would have been fine for space. We ended up putting one of our kids in the main bedroom, the other one in the weird little office room that you could barely turn around in, and then we slept on the hide-a-bed.

Because we faced a busy street, we could hear traffic noise all night, especially on the weekend. It kept us up a bit.

Overall, the amenities were fine. The kitchen had everything we needed. The laundry was good. The view was nice. But as a family, we were on top of each other the entire time. There is a small glassed in little patio that seemed like a complete waste of space but my kids enjoyed using it as a dining room and play area.

The hotel staff were great and very friendly. And you can’t beat the location. It’s right across the street from Stanley Park, which is exactly where we wanted to be and was very convenient for us. It’s also right off Denman, which has lots of restaurants, coffee shops, etc.

The biggest complaint I have isn’t the space or traffic noise. It was the condition of the room. And from reading other reviews, it seems to be a common theme – they are really run down. Major dents and scratches on the walls. Old carpet. Stained furniture. Vertical blinds that didn’t cover the windows very well and let in a ton of light. A portable air conditioner just in one room. Very outdated bathroom with old tiles and strangely stained grout.

It was disappointing, especially for the price we paid. But then again, we were clearly paying for location.

Would we stay here again, even if it was just two of us? Probably not unless we got an incredible deal. Next time, I think we will try one of the other locations around there and see what they have to offer. Maybe all locations around the park are like this but can charge a premium. But I think we will take that chance and see.

We we looking for an executive apartment hotel for a week near Stanley Park. While searching, this place came up…must say that I was dubious at first, for we had never heard of it. The reviews on TA were good, and the hotel met all of our criteria. Well let me tel you that the hotel surpassed our expectations. Firstly, the hotel staff is courteous and extremely helpful. Secondly, the hotel is spotless and rooms, whilst a little tired, are clean, comfortable and well appointed and quiet. Thirdly, the hotel is central to everything, and if need be, the bus routes are a 3 min walk from the hotel. The rooms are cleaned daily, toiletries replenished, towels exchanged and laundry soap replenished everyday – yes there is an en-suite washer and dryer. The is free wifi and parking. There is also a gym and a pool (though we didn’t use them). ***insider tip: if you book directly through the hotel website, your breakfast is included for all room guests***. Lucky that we booked that way. We were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. Highly recommended for families, couples and business travellers. We will return. Great value for money

Listel Hotel Vancouver

We are 2 couples in our 50’s and stayed at The Listel.
This hotel is modern, rooms were ultra clean and comfortable.
It is situated on Robson street the main shopoing hub the other end of Robson towards Gastown way all the malls are there too all within a short 15 walk.

The staff are at the desk 24/7 and were so helpful and friendly.

We liked the central location of this hotel and walked to everything whether we needed to go to Canada Place or to catch a ferry on the other side towards Granville Island. Each walk took approx 15 mins.

Plenty of restaurants around the area too.

Stayed three nights in August. Very busy weekend with fireworks, PRIDE parade and National BC day. Staff was very accomodating helping us understand the transit system, make dinner reservations, etc. Loved the fact they are very environmentally friendly. Also loved the filtered still and sparkling water!

Beautiful place, SPOTLESS! Very helpful staff. Cool artwork. Great location near downtown. Centrally located with everything near by. Also the hotel was very quiet.
I would give Listel hotel my highest recommendation.

Le Soleil Hotel Vancouver

We stayed for 3 nights. The staff are all so warm and welcoming. We love the rooms..great size bedroom, very comfy bed, nice view, great big bathroom and separate lounge. I love the feel of the hotel, old style which we love. Im very fussy about cleanliness and Im very happy to say the place is spotless. Would recommend.

Our family of four visited Vancouver on vacation, and Executive Hotel Le Soleil was the perfect resting spot. It’s well-positioned as a launch pad for most tourism. Staff are friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. The decor is warm and inviting, and the rooms are comfortable.

As a Christmas present I brought my son to a hockey game in Vancouver. It is pretty rare that it is just the two of us so I wanted to make it a memorable weekend and so we stayed here, my favourite hotel in Vancouver.

The staff has always been very warm and welcoming and this trip was no exception despite the fact that we were wearing Philadelphia Flyers jerseys. Nothing bad to say about this venue.

The Hotel Le Soleil is beautiful, public areas as well as the guest suites. Colors are very inviting and restful. Very close to shopping and the cruise ship doc as well as float planes. Beautiful location.

Hotel Blu Vancouver

We booked a room here for a big anniversary trip. The room was beautiful. The “fishbowl” shower that has been described does come with a shade for privacy, so that wasn’t a problem. In fact, the shower was lovely. We had a little balcony and enjoyed a few meals out there, looking out on the stadium and the high rises that line false creek. In the package we booked, there was no breakfast included (though we were given one complimentary ticket for breakfast on our first day). The buffet is gourmet–lots of amazing baked goods. But it’s expensive–$21 per person. The room was quiet–partly because of the air conditioning’s white noise . . . and that’s where our only problem was. The weather (mid-July) was great while we were in Vancouver–72-82 the whole 10 days. And the A/C worked like a dream for the first four days, but then it just stopped. There was a fan, but the temperature in the room rose throughout the day to about 78 and didn’t ever seem to go down. I called the front desk and they sent someone up. He said that the A/C was working (it wasn’t), and that our problem was that we had set the thermostat too low (68). He suggested we set it at 71 and that would somehow get things moving again. It didn’t. The next day, I called again and that evening we came home to a fan sitting at the foot of our bed. Even with the fan, the temperature in the room was in 77-79 degrees. It was cooler in the hallway and significantly cooler outside! Obviously, for the rate we were paying I had hoped for a more effective response to our complaint. I thought perhaps they’d give us a break on the room–a discount for the 6 days without A/C, but no. They said that, because we booked the room with Expedia, there was no way they could give us a discount. I guess the lesson here is to request a room change if your A/C goes out.

Georgian Court Hotel Vancouver

Perfect spot in downtown Vancouver. The staff are wonderful and it is quiet and elegant. We were originally booked in a triple room – my sister, my husband and me but my sister got sick and after travelling for over two weeks already I could see none of us would get any rest. They organised for us to have the penthouse which has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Thank heavens as my Hubby also got sick! It was a stunning suite the two sickies could lock themselves away in the bedrooms and I could sit on the couch in the lounge. The quality of the furnishing is excellent and everything was very comfortable.
For those who follow my recommendations, the bed was excellent, the shower pressure not overly strong but you had a choice of rain head or hand held which helped. Toiletries were of a high quality.
There is a coffee machine and water supplied daily.
A jazz club next door and a passable restaurant on ground floor. I can’t thank the staff enough for help and consideration. We loved Vancouver and the Georgian Court

The Hotel is clean and rooms are nice. Many do not have a good view.
The lobby is awkward and the space is not for group sitting or enjoyment. The furniture is tired looking.
They are often short staffed.
Location is good.
rooms are remodeled and nice and our room was spacious too. The Nespresso came in handy!

Granville Island Hotel

Great way to enjoy some Shakespeare during the summer and be able to walk between the hotel and the venue. No traffic issues other than to/from the Island. Due to the lack of hotels in the area, the pricing is not inexpensive.

10th anniversary, gorgeous stay. A wonderful celebration for our last night in Vancouver. The hotel upgraded us, helped with information about the TheatreSports comedy club and also booked us a taxi to the airport. I’d happily stay again.

Beautiful setting, hotel well kept, front desk staff very amazing and helpful. Bathroom was great.
The main rooms too small for the size of beds. No small table and chair to sit at. Very cramped walking space within room.

I really enjoyed the stay. The personnel is very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. The area a very nice and quiet. I like the diversity of cosmetics they leave for your in the bathroom. The shower was mobile and that was a plus too.

Ramada Downtown Vancouver Granville

Whilst this hotel is “downtown”, it’s not in the nicest of areas. If you get a room Granville side you may as well sleep in the street as the sound proofing is poor. Aircon is good but the unit is enormous, old and noisy. Overall the hotel needs modernising and a facelift.

We checked in around 9:00pm on a Thursday night for a two night stay. First night we got to the room to go to bed after traveling all day and found that the sheets had not been changed on the bed. Sheets were wrinkled and there was black fuzz on the bed from someone’s sox. I was too tired to complain and had the sheets changed the next morning.

THEN, about 9:00pm on Friday night a DJ started playing at the club next door. Our room literally rattled until 2:00am. I travel a lot and this was literally one of the worst hotel stays ever.

The staff was courteous, but basically helpless about these problems

Chose this hotel due to its proximity to the port (Canada Place). Rooms were decent sized, clean, had the standard amenities, but quite dated. Wifi service was complimentary and pretty strong. Breakfast was non-descript and the breakfast area sad looking. Coffee was your usual watered down coffee. At least they had bagels and cream cheese Location was okay, near enough the port

The staff though were quite helpful with our luggage and hailing taxi cabs.

Opus Hotel Vancouver

Always an awesome stay at the Opus! Rooms are always perfect, staff is always friendly and the location is amazing. Great place to stay if you want something a bit different from your typical hotel. Highly recommended.

This hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of Yaletown. Clean well appointed rooms (if on the small side). I voiced a complaint about two things and both were rectified in an extraordinary speedily fashion. The desire to make one’s stay enjoyable was most evident.

Located in Yaletown, there are tons of fun restaurants near-by and close proximity to the seawall. The hotel is situated across the street from a subway stop, making it super easy to get to from the airport. I arrived late in the evening and was met with a warm reception. Service was great.

Incredibly handy for travel links as it is right opposite the Canada line station. Friendly and trendy atmosphere, breakfast good but a little pricey. Having the facility to borrow a bike for a ride along the waterfront is a genuinely useful bonus.
