Always an awesome stay at the Opus! Rooms are always perfect, staff is always friendly and the location is amazing. Great place to stay if you want something a bit different from your typical hotel. Highly recommended.
This hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of Yaletown. Clean well appointed rooms (if on the small side). I voiced a complaint about two things and both were rectified in an extraordinary speedily fashion. The desire to make one’s stay enjoyable was most evident.
Located in Yaletown, there are tons of fun restaurants near-by and close proximity to the seawall. The hotel is situated across the street from a subway stop, making it super easy to get to from the airport. I arrived late in the evening and was met with a warm reception. Service was great.
Incredibly handy for travel links as it is right opposite the Canada line station. Friendly and trendy atmosphere, breakfast good but a little pricey. Having the facility to borrow a bike for a ride along the waterfront is a genuinely useful bonus.
Opus Hotel Vancouver redefines the boutique experience. Located in Yaletown Vancouver’s newest trendy Neighbourhood steps from Shops, Cafes, Bars and Restaurants. Canada Line, BC Place and Rogers Arena are a stones throw away
We arrived in Vancouver to discover our room (penthouse) was much smaller than advertised. The website claims freshly renovated (my question would be when?) The living room is so small that two people fill it completely. The television didn’t work for the first night and wasn’t reported to the day staff. The toilet backed up and the staff were unable to locate a plunger. At least the person on the front desk suggested Safeway to get one at 10.30pm. The kitchen lights didn’t work without turning the ceiling fan on. No milk or tea bags, no customer service by the man on the desk on our arrival. He doesn’t know how to problem solve. The master room (laughing) no ceiling fan and due to the room being 70% glass it was very hot. Then a disappointing breakfast where nothing was explained and to an Australian you just don’t help yourself to the fridge or cupboards but this was expected here. The is a shower curtain in the bath made the shower a very closed in space and a funny grey mold on the tiles doesn’t say freshly renovated.
The vertical blinds did nothing to keep the light or the heat out of both the main room and the strange glassed in patio. All in all the hotels saving grace was the location and Sunday onwards staff. I would not say this is value for money. I hope our other hotels are not as disappointing this one during our stay in Canada.
My family booked an one bedroom unit here for 4 nights. Great location so close to Stanley park, restaurants and boat harbour. We were lucky to be on the Harbour side so had great views ( we go to see the view from the other side of the building when we had a plumbing issue and had to spend a night in another unit while the issue was resolved), The unit was too small for four adults but as we were only there 4 nigh were weren’t able to book a 2 bed unit which was very disappointing.
Staff were very helpful and able to come up with a suitable solution to a plumbing issue that arose in the unit.
This is now my second time staying at the Listel Hotel. My wife and I absolutely love the location (right on Robson) and have always enjoyed our stay here.
The staff have always made us feel very welcome. Very friendly and courteous…even went above and beyond when I had asked to see if they had a microwave that I could have brought up to my room for the night.
The FREE complimentary wine tasting daily from 5-6pm was a great way to start our evenings. The wine tasting staff were very knowledgeable and it made from some great conversations in the lobby with guests.
The FREE e-bikes were a blast. 3 hours is more than enough time (daily) to cruise around downtown Vancouver, through Stanley Park and Seawall. Biking was easy up those tough hills with the push of a button. Will definitely be taking advantage of those again our next stay.
Overall, another amazing trip and what a fantastic stay. Highly recommend Listel Hotel to anyone.
We had two stays within one week at the Listel Hotel. The hotel is very well designed, full of artworks, and the staff were first class – consistently helpful, friendly and very efficient. This was my first time in Vancouver and we were given every assistance finding our way round the city – and were even lent the hotel’s electric bikes for a few hours’ r(de which was great fun. The location was perfect for Stanley Park, English Bay and the seafronts ( and shops which we didn’t want, but others might) and there are lots of good places to eat locally. The hotel’s linked restaurant, Forage, where we had breakfast each day and one supper, was excellent though it felt strange having to remember tobook a place for breakfast in a hotel of this class. I marked the hotel ‘average’ value for money as it WAS expensive in comparison with most other places we’ve stayed – but we were visiting over the weekend of BC Day, the Pride March and the international Fireworks Display at English Bay; probably prices are lower at less intensive time when accommodation isn’t in so much demand. We would certainly stay again – thank you to all the staff!
The Listel Hotel is a first class Boutique Hotel located on Robson Street. Each guest room showcases contemporary Northwest Coast Art through a partnership with the University of British Columbia’s Museum of Anthropology. … Amenities
In retrospect , should have booked at the Rosewood as the prices were similar . The Indian restaurant in the hotel was overpriced and not particularly good . The towels were nice but besides that , nothing to speak of . Breakfast not included .
We stayed here for 4 nights and were very happy with the location of the property. The hotel is a bit pricey but is guess we were there on the Canadian day weekend so it could be understandable. If you are taking a cruise this hotel is ideally located. Lots of eating places around and walking distance to the main shopping streets.
We were getting off an Alaskan cruise and needed a place to stay for one night. This was an unexpected gem. The location is an easy walk from the terminal and to many places to eat. The room is a mini suite with a European flair in decor. We had great service from Janessa Coleman a supervisor at the front desk, and her colleague Brett Archibald, the Concierge. Both are knowledgeable and can help you get to where you want to go. Skip the big chains and give yourself a real treat.
The Hotel Le Soleil is beautiful, public areas as well as the guest suites. Colors are very inviting and restful. Very close to shopping and the cruise ship doc as well as float planes. Beautiful location.
Stayed 4 nites staff very friendly helpful, close to everything shopping tourist things. Used the pool sauna a lot very clean well maintained. Great gym as well nice equipment. Rooms are roomy no view where I was but no matter. Restaurants nearby very good Vietnamese just round the corner. Expensive hotel but very comfortable
Totally nice, but the bathroom was like fishbowl.
The coffee machine was Nespresso which I love. Cool.
The amenity goods were not my liking because the shampoo and the conditioner were for men.
Location is good: there are BC place, good restaurants and bars. Gas town is also close.
Just booked this hotel for a single night as we were on a tight schedule
I had arranged in advance that, if we had arrived on time they would have stored our luggage if the room wasn’t but, in the event the train was about 5 hours late, so it was only for an hour or so. They were very prompt in their replies to questions
As the room wasn’t ready when we arrived- a little early for check in, we went for a walk, there being no bar in the hotel. Coming back there was a little confusion with the next receptionist still saying the room wasn’t ready, so we waited a while and when I asked again about 15 minutes later, it transpired that it was. The luggage was delivered to the room promptly after I requested it
The room was far better that I had been expecting. It was what I think is described as a loft style room, with a sitting area and the bathroom on the ground floor and the bedroom upstairs. It was extremely spacious, with large flat screen televisions both downstairs and in the bedroom. The bathroom was well appointed with plenty of towels, robes and slippers. One small thing was that the bath toiletries were in a dispenser that was at an ideal height for shower use, but inconvenient for the bath. There was also a fixed glass panel by the bath which must have made cleaning very difficult
There was a nespresso machine with plenty of cartridges. There was also supposed to be a tablet to integrate all electronic devices, but was away for a software update, so I didn’t see that, but wouldn’t have had time to have used it anyhow
The bed was very comfortable and made for a good sleep
We were on the second floor and just down the hall was a business suite which allowed for complimentary document printing, which was ideal for the boarding passes I needed
Also down the corridor was a swimming pool, with steam room and sauna, which I didn’t have time to use, nor the gym, which looked adequately equipped and in use regularly.
Somewhat oddly situated between the gym and the swimming pool was a laundry room with the ice and vending machines. The washers and dryers were complimentary, which was a boon and I did manage to try them out
We didn’t try the hotel for breakfast as we had a fairly early flight, but checkout was quick and smooth
I have to say that I was very surprised and impressed by my stay at this hotel and only wish I could have spent longer
There was a lovely restaurant next door with friendly, helpful service and great variety for breakfast. The room was Clean and spacious. The hotel was well located, easy walking distance to many city attractions.
Very nice hotel, comfortable bed, lovely ambience. Very close to concert venues and water taxi, walkable distance from Pacific Central Railway. In the heart of the restaurant area; an easy walk to Gastown.
All hotels in Vancouver are pricey, this one a little less than many. However it was worth it to feel comfortable in this clean remodelled hotel. If you want to be close to Vancouver’s main theatre or sporting venues then this is the hotel for you. Convenient (and again, pricey) underground parking. A nice restaurant on site completed a most enjoyable experience.
The renovated rooms were very clean and modern. Compared with the cost of other major hotels, this was a great find. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Parking was easy at hotel garage. Hotel desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Location was great. Will definitely stay here again. They didn’t have a pool but hot tub was nice.
I would have given the Hotel a higher score, but did not for 2 reasons…. Beds were not bad but the pillows were horrible. For some reason the rooms were not conducive to spending time in…somewhat sterile…and not a lot of place to sit. I will say Robbie, the Service Associate was great and so was Elba, our Housekeeping Lady! Kudos to you both! Very small Lobby area…..good for ‘coming and going’. Wifi was spotty and kept getting bumped off to Shaw.
This was a nice find at a beautiful location, with great service. The room was nice and comfortable without being ostentatious. We enjoyed the location on Granville Island with proximity to the market and galleries, and easily connected to downtown via water taxis and ferries. The only negative is that before arriving it wasn’t clear how to drive onto the island, which took some searching (even with gps). Consider not taking a car onto the island, which isn’t necessary for getting around the city.
Booked last minute as our Alaskan Cruise ended here. Perfect spot in/on Granville Island. Beautiful hotel, great water views, excellent service, gorgeous rooms, comfy beds and walking distance to everything! Avoid the worry…don’t hesitate…stay here and enjoy!
Great location, lovely staff, very clean. Room was quite small with 2 beds, could not move around room or lay out suitcase anyplace. Air conditioning unit extremely loud in room, went on and off all night, could not sleep.
Great hotel,we enjoyed our stay .
Since moment we walked in.till the minute we left ,everything was perfect .
Highly recommend to stay there .
Very helpful with planning our sightseeing activities and recommendations to amazing restaurants
I recently stayed at the Wedgewood (and have been staying there for a few years as I frequently go to Vancouver on business). On this particular trip I brought my family along with me (9 month old and wife) and the professional team at the Wedgewood were extremely accommodating. All aspects of our stay from the initial door service to the room service and everything in between were perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel.
It was my first time staying at the Wedgewood but will not be my last. I enjoyed every minute of my 4 night stay. The service was impeccable, the room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable! I loved having a balcony that I could sit out on and watch the sunset and the turndown service (with cookies and a bottle of water on top of it!) definitely was appreciated 🙂 I was in Vancouver on business, but the Wedgewood made it feel like a vacation. Thank you Wedgewood!
Have been in Vancouver many times and Wedgewood has become my home away from home. As always. service is excellent and professional. Centrally located and the room is clean and spacious. All the staff are friendly and helpful to ensure your stay is a good experience
The Wedgewood is Luxury Boutique Hotel located downtown Vancouver across from the Law Courts. It offers a Spa, First Class Restaurant and Lounge. Outside it’s doors you are steps away from Shopping and Restaurants.
If you like history and enjoy the idea of walking in the footsteps of others, then you’ll value staying in the Sylvia Hotel. Many black and white photographs on the hotel’s walls give one an insight to those early days and I particularly found the ‘Dine in the Sky’ photograph to be quite amusing – the hotel is not one of those sky towers! We stayed here for three very comfortable nights and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just across the road from the beach and being able to sit on one of the benches or logs on the beach at dusk to people-watch and see the sun set was a wonderful way to relax.
The sylvia hotel is probably one of the oldest in the city. Covered in ivy it looks really nice. The rooms are basic although large. But the service is excellent with very friendly staff. Our stay there was great and just across the road to the beach. Fantastic hotel location.
We loved the Sylvia. Charming old hotel with equally charming staff. The location on English Bay was outstanding. We could walk to Stanley Park as well as the MANY wonderful restaurants and pubs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return someday. Price for they stay was very reasonable considering the prime location and amenities. Restaurant was good as well. Sweet place!
A heritage Boutique Hotel located across the street from Vancouver’s English Bay, next to Stanley Park and only minutes from downtown, the hotel offers character rooms with stunning views of the bay as well as a delicious on-site restaurant and lounge.
I stayed 4 nights in this hotel after reading many good reviews on Tripadvisor. I have to agree that this hotel is indeed lovely with many friendly and helpful staff. Let me start with the positives:
1) Location – very well located within downtown Vancouver. This hotel is within walking to many places in the city including Canada Place and Chinatown. Granville station is just next to it and further down, you have Vancouver City Center.
2) Friendly staff – the staff goes all out to help you with your stay in the hotel. They are also more than happy to guide you to places to go to and places to eat within the city. Special mention goes to Gary and the other lady (my apologies for not getting her name) who have been exceptional.
3) Breakfast – Cook to order breakfast is available every morning. Although it is not a buffet, the size of the breakfast is more than enough to last me till lunch at least. Choices are a little limited with only 3 options of Continental, Classic and Omelette.
4) Comfortable room with L’occitane amenities. The toilet floor is even heated!
Now for the negatives:
1) Room size – being a boutique hotel, the room is a little small (for North America). There is no fridge in the room.
2) A chance encounter with an unfriendly staff – on the day I checked out, this one staff (whom I guess is an exception rather than the norm) by the name of Keith seems rather cold, unfriendly bordering on being rude when I tried to confirm with him my bill. He seemed rather impatient in answering my questions (a stark contrast to Gary!)
3) Small and slow lift – for same reason as number 1
I will definitely consider staying in this hotel again in the future!
We’ve had the most amazing stay at this beautifully renovated hotel. We were more than well looked after, the staff go way beyond what is expected of them and always with a smile. The breakfast is huge and delicious. The bar is friendly and welcoming and has long happy hour sessions even the wonderful food is included in happy hour. Our room was delightful with a huge bathroom and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The hotel is in easy reach of everything. Would definitely recommend and would come back to stay in a heartbeat. Thanks
I booked this hotel with the assumption that it is a Starwood hotel. Well, it is not. The hotel is housed in a heritage building. It is centrally located on a busy street. We just needed to hurriedly unload our luggage by the side walk. We were directed to park our car in the basement of the building next door. Reception desk staff were friendly. The lobby area and elevator are tiny. Our room is of good size with a refurbished bath room with L’Occitane toiletries supply. Our room was a bit smelly despite turning up the air conditioner and fan. Since the hotel is a low rise structure, we could hear noise from outside. All in all, the hotel is in prime location, maintains decent standard in serving hotel guests but with constraints.
Boutique hotel is Vancouver’s own city centre, New York-style, heritage hotel that offers classic, yet contemporary accommodations. The hotel is within walking distance of Rogers Arena, fine shopping, numerous restaurants including it’s own and the convention centre.
