Moda Hotel Vancouver

This might sound like a convenient well priced stay but in my book this is quite a sub par hotel compared to what else is around for the same money.
I wasn’t impressed with much when it came to this hotel as a whole.
The staff were perhaps its only saving grace, whom I will note as being helpful and friendly but the room I had was dark, tired and to put it bluntly quite small.
The hotel is nicely located with access to downtown, Yaletown was only a short walk away (5-10mins) but the rooms were dark, wifi slow, it has only one lift and it operated at turtle pace, outdated tv’s, beds uncomfortable, cheap linen and the hotels general decor tired/old.
If you do not have any other options than I guess this is your stay but I would look elsewhere for a little bit extra.

We really enjoyed this hotel! It was conveniently located – just a couple of blocks from the theater district and 15 minutes walking to the marina and park along the water. The room was modern and the beds were comfortable. Our four-night stay included daily breakfast at the Cibo Trattoria restaurant next door and parking on the 5th floor of the gated parking garage about 150 feet from the hotel. There is also the Uva wine bar next door on the other side of the hotel. Nestor’s grocery store was less than a block away. Even though our room was located on the 3rd floor of the hotel on the corner of Smithe and Seymour Streets, the windows did a pretty good job of keeping the noise out.

Good location for downtown Vancouver
About 15 mins walk to the subway station and 5 mins walk to the bus stations
Lots of good places to eat within 5 minutes walk
Hotel is well renovated and looks modern, but is clearly in a very old building
The lift is really old and small, and very slow
The bathroom was freezing and the tiles suck the heat out. We did visit in winter though. Room is warm enough with the heater going.
Not too bad for the price.

The convenient and inexpensive parking is this hotel’s best quality. The room rates are inexpensive but probably not a good value. The location is good if you are there for an nearby entertainment venue and plan to get wasted and walk the streets howling all night like your fellow revelers. Otherwise, budget hotels in other neighborhoods would be a better choice. During the day, the area is populated by business people, service workers, street people and a few tourists. At night, the street people and tourists mix with people seeking city nightlife attracted by a low-end and a few high-end cocktail lounges and bars. A liquor store in the building is both convenient for guests, and due to being a rarity in the city, an attractant anyone who wants to get drunk and hang out on the nearby streets. Strangely, the property has a first class cocktail lounge, Uva, attached. The vibe and artfully prepared drinks are as good as it gets. Downside, four drinks can cost as much as the the room rate. If you want to enjoy a splurge at Uva, best to stay somewhere else.
Booked this for a one night stay while attending a show at a nearby venue.

The location and value of this hotel if great. The room is average. It was clean and had all that was needed for a single night stay. The room is small but again is good if you are just using it to sleep. The staff was pretty friendly.

A very nice stay, and surprisingly good value for money. The gym was great and the rooms nice and spacious. The service was friendly and efficient, and the location is hard to beat. I’ll definitely stay here the next time I’m in Vancouver!

Great central location. Nice, professional and helpful staff.
Clean, comfortable room with excellent bed.
Breakfast was great too.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel as a base to explore Vancouver.
Having been travelling around BC all week I wanted to treat myself to a really good hotel and L’Hermitage didn’t disappoint. It’s a luxurious hotel with great rooms and very friendly staff. The breakfast is good and really there’s not much that I can fault with my visit.

Absolutely no complaints – a fine hotel in a beautiful city. Excellent service, great facilities, good advice on attractions and restaurants. Steve, at the front desk, was particularly helpful. Would stay here again, absolutely.

nice and central location. average as I would expect a 3 stars to be. Small room and small and old bathroom. Was just ok for 2 nights.
I did not have breakfast there so I can’t evaluate. Was very well located and that was the reason for my choice.

I just spent two nights at Moda for business travel. First the pros: friendly and helpful staff, amazing breakfast @ Cibo, cool room with character, great location that is walking distance to everything, good rate. Now the cons: the elevator is currently out of commission for over a month (however, management nicely comped our breakfast when we approached them), my second-floor room was quite loud at night as it was right over the bar downstairs and the hotel lacks a gym (which many boutique hotels do so that was less of a biggie). As a side-note, I also had a ‘visitor’ in my room. A few rooms on the second floor have experienced ghostly happenings. In my case, it was a bedside drawer that kept opening on its own when i wasn’t in the room. If you believe in this type of thing, it was not a benevolent type of experience, more just a playful, poltergeist type of event. (I feel weird writing this last sentence because i’ve never had this type of thing happen to me but it happened!). Others in our group had strange feelings too but no sightings of anything. If you’re into it (or not!), apparently rooms 223 and 227 are the ones that have ghosts (I was in 227).

L’Hermitage Hotel Vancouver

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of November in a Petite Boutique Room (Room 654) We are frequent travellers and we must say this hotel is first class in both service, rooms and location.

The location is in the centre of the city in close walking distance to all shops, restaurants and transport. The room and bathroom were both spacious and luxurious with a very comfortable bed! We had a view of the pool which was lovely. We ordered room service for Breakfast which was beautiful. The hotel lounge is also very cozy with the fire.

The service at the L’hermitage was exceptional. Every single staff member was equally friendly and helpful. I believe the L’hermitage is great value for money, we will definitely return! (Highly recommend “Medina” restaurant next door, wonderful food)

Great loocation very friendly staff
We had a wonderful time
We are planning on coming back in the summer.
To celebrate a birthday

We felt very safe
The fitness facilities are very good
We enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant

Spectacular service is provided from each employee. The hotel is very quiet, elegant and comfortable.
The breakfast is not to miss with an extraordinary buffet. The L’Hermitage Hotel is centrally located in downtown allowing an easy walk to restaurants and shops.

Just loved this hotel and the location was great. The room was very comfortable and spacious and the service offered is excellent. We hired a car and used the valet parking service which the hotel offers. If we were to return to Vancouver, we would be sure to stay here.

We went to Vancouver for our 10th Anniversary. From the beginning the service was perfect! We arrived around 1pm as we tried to avoid rush hours. We had no problems with checking in earlier and on the top of that we got complimentary upgrade!
We loved every minute! Having hot tub outside on the roof top is perfect! Evening drinks were delicious! I have never had such a good gin a tonic 🙂 Breakfast in the morning was delicious too!
My brother from Europe is coming to visit me next year and we will definitely stay at L’Hermitage hotel!

First time to the Vancouver area and the hotel did not disappoint. It’s very central and we could walk to the shops and down to Stanley park. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast was minimal but good. Nothing special decor-wise as the main lobby is also the lobby for the apartment block so it’s small and functional but efficient.

Moda Hotel Vancouver

I’ve really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the Moda Hotel to my friends and business partners. Excellent and friendly. Well located in downtown Vancouver. Lots of shopping close by and easy access to transit system.

I like the Moda, it’s convenient, not overly expensive, and is located in a very central location in downtown Vancouver. Stayed there on the return from a Skiing trip to Whistler, and the Whistler shuttle drops off at the Clarion Budget hotel, which is around the corner and down the block from the Moda. This time, I will be staying there before heading up to Whistler.

A very chic ,modern hotel in the centre of the city. I Stayed only for one night, but the experience was totally positive. Very pleasant stuff and a really good restaurant. I would definately book again ,if I was going to Vancouver!

Okay, let me start off by saying that this is place is incredible. Perfectly situated with easy access to everything. Service was amazing and the staff are so polite it’s not funny. Our boutique room was warm and roomy with an electric fire place, huge bed and bathroom. So comfortable and great to get back to after a long day exploring. This review also comes with a special shout out to “Michal”!!!! What a guy. Genuinely helpful and always smiling. He helped us out so much and made our stay there extremely memorable. Hat off to you Michal and all the best. Champion. Anyway – stay here when you’re in Vancouver, you won’t regret it. Loved every minute.

L’Hermitage is a nice hotel. There’s a good sized hot tub and lap pool on the 5th floor roof. We enjoyed the hot tub, though it needs small fixes as small tiles have gone missing. Our room was nice and quiet, and the bathroom was beautiful. Nice bathrobes and they even brought us slippers.

The guest only lounge on the 5th floor is comfortable and quiet and offers some cocktails, wine and beer. A breakfast buffet is available for around $20. Breakfast room is adjacent to the lounge.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

We booked with travel points, so I can’t speak to value for the money.

+ Amazing location!
+ Safe
+ Small fridge
+ Coffee machine
+ Restaurants downstairs (good price and food)
– However, we had one of the worst internet experienced until we asked to reset the router.
– Very weird blankets and hard beds, uncomfortable pillows
– View from the window on the dirty back alley which is not very pleasing in the morning 🙁
– The heater heats for 10-15 minutes and then starts to cool for some reason

Only reason I can’t give the hotel an Excellent is because there were no HD tv channels (it’s 2016?) and the wifi was useless. Otherwise we rather enjoyed our stay. I recommend getting a Moda suite. Room was spotless. Ours was on the third floor. Never had to wait for the elevator like other reviews mentioned. Never heard a peep from other rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Would stay again

This place is beautiful, a little older but really nice. Exactly what we needed. They upgraded our room with no problem at all and are completely accommodating. Our view (back alley) Is the only downside but we don’t plan on spending lots of time in the room. This is well worth it.
