Just spent one night there. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean. The chocolate, bottled water and nice robes were a nice treat. Great location. The included breakfast was fantastic. Not your typical included hotel breakfast (simple continental). Wife had bacon egg breakfast and I had the omelette breakfast all with hashbrowns toast juice coffee tea. Great breakfast! Parking is a bit pricey but we parked a block away for much cheaper overnight parking. Will definitely stay here again. Well done and keep it up
Service was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms and even the hallways etc are well-appointed and maintained. There are free phone calls, even internationally! Free internet, too. The hotel is centrally located, close to subway stations, very near to bus routes and, for touristers like us, close to a stop for the hop-on, hop-off tourist bus. There is a pub-style restaurant which has a reasonable enough menu, although the TVs endlessly showing sport (no volume) detract a bit. Breakfast is generous with cooked or continental included in the room rate. We’d go back again.
I recently spent five nights during a business trip in Vancouver. This is an older hotel, but it has been kept in great shape and is close to all the amenities of downtown Vancouver. The room I stayed in was a typical hotel room, however it had a great bed, was clean and well kept. The bathroom was a good size, spotless and a good selection of shampoo, conditioners, etc. Staff always made sure to leave a good quantity.
The hotel has only one small elevator so you can be left waiting at busy times. This was not a problem and the stairs are always available.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. You could count on them to open doors for you or rush to call the elevator. The staff always acknowledged the guests with a good morning or good evening and asked how the stay was going. Newspapers and apples were available for guests in the lobby.
A great feature of the hotel is the cooked to order breakfast available to guests on the lower lobby at no additional cost. The staff in this area were amazing with very quick service for coffee and juice and very accommodating in their guests selecting from a wide range of items on the menu. The food order was typically out in about 5 – 10 minutes.
The St. Regis is right next to the Expo line subway station and just a block up Granville Street from the Canada Line making it very convenient to take the train from the airport to downtown.
I certainly recommend the St. Regis and plan to make it my hotel of choice in downtown Vancouver.
