Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver

Right now I am sitting in their private signature(?) lounge looking over the harbour as I sip a cup of tea.

When booking our trip to Vancouver, this hotel was originally booked out. However I was able to book a signature room best ocean view on the American Express platinum travel website.
I’m so glad we did!

This place is not only stylish, but incredibly friendly and welcoming. As a newer hotel I figured the furnishings would be trendy and new, and they did not disappoint. The view from our room looks out over the harbour/ocean and the mountains beyond.

The service here is exceptional. They treat everyone like their favourite family member.
When we first arrived Patricia (concierge) came to our room with tea and hot towels and let us know about the private lounge for our floors. They serve a variety of food and beverages here throughout the day. If you wanted you wouldn’t have to eat out.

They will recommend and book restaurants, and have a private car (BMW) to take you to the restaurants, and will give the restaurant a card with their number to call to pick you up.

Their Japanese restaurant, although a little high on price is delicious, and the waitresses wear ball gowns which make the atmosphere much more elegant. They all look gorgeous.

We are going to be taking the complimentary bikes for a ride around Stanley Park this morning, and then take an aqua bus to the markets in the afternoon. All suggested by Patricia.

I would recommend everyone who is visiting Vancouver to stay here. Even if you can only get one night.

This hotel is modern, clean, centrally located and upmarket. Ideal for business travellers and couples, it exudes efficiency and class and features a really lovely lounge area with a stunning fireplace. The rooms are spotless and modern and you’re unlikely to find them lacking in any respect – even if you don’t end up with a harbour view room. We overlooked the offices across the road, but who cares – the kids entertained themselves trying to attract the attention of the hapless office staff… On that note, they don’t market themselves as a family hotel, and as you can imagine, they preferred the cheap apartment we stayed in earlier in the holiday. But price wise, we found it surprisingly reasonable value.

But Giovane cafe’s breakfast deserves a special mention. Food was great, but if you find a better coffee anywhere else in Canada (and I mean proper espresso coffee, not the filtered kind) then I’ll be surprised!
