I was staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim for my boyfriends work event (3 day). We stayed at the hotel and it was amazing…so clean, so comfortable.
The big thing that stuck out to me is how amazing the service was. I was violently ill on my last day there (which was just yesterday). Unfortunately, I also had to check out in a few hours. As I checked out the lady at the desk gave me a pass to the spa and let me lay down there until we had to leave for our flight home. The people at the spa gave me some ginger ale and crackers.
Thank you so so so much to the Fairmont for being so generous and helping me out during a time when I was so sick. I am so grateful.
Everything is still top-notch, from the professional and friendly staff, to the hotel amenities, to the fast elevators. We rarely waited more than a minute for an elevator (I think there are six in the high-rise tower).
Just a couple of “issues”.
There was a Japan Festival at the lobby during the stay so it was really noisy in the evening at the lobby. That is unavoidable.
The second one is the “breakfast plan”. I booked a stay for the nights of January 26 and 27, checking out on the 28. When I booked to have breakfast for the “second” morning, for us that would be morning of 28th. But the option for me to pick, for the breakfast date, was 26 and 27 (corresponding to the nights of stay). I had to click on 27th because 28 was not available.
That created confusion because when we had breakfast on the date we checked out (28th) the hotel couldn’t find our breakfast plan. Apparently they thought we already had breakfast on the 27th. Finally it was sorted out.
A better computer system, especially for breakfast plan, would allow one day shift for customers to pick breakfast date. If I am staying there the night of 26 and 27, I couldn’t have breakfast on 26. So breakfast date should be the night of stay + 1 day.
Hope the hotel gets this fixed.
