Marriott Vancouver Pinnacle Hotel

this was a very nice hotel – walking distance to many attractions. very clean, good helpful staff. breakfast buffet was well worth it — many choices and good quality. free flavored water in lobby and sometimes cookies

he room is clean and the bathroom newly updated. It states clearly on the concierge lounge card that each room gets one guest (and you) into the lounge. However, groups of 4 to 6 come in constantly, and the one guest rule is not policed. The lounge is also small (about the size of one hotel room), so the tiny lounge felt more like a McDonalds play pen than anything. If the 2-person rule was enforced, the lounge would still be crowded but at least more manageable. Breakfast in the lounge is just not possible – so crowded with large parties and overrun with children: standing room only, Not a great experience – will be trying a different Marriott next time.

Although the hotel needs a bit of sprucing up, the staff are superb and the location is ideal for access to the downtown core and waterfront (200 meters from Olympic torch). Restaurant menu and service are excellent.

Small issues with the room (broken towel rack, broken toilet flush lever/plunger) were dealt with immediately.

Would recommend as a good option if you aren’t looking for opulence.

We arrived in Vancouver to discover our room (penthouse) was much smaller than advertised. The website claims freshly renovated (my question would be when?) The living room is so small that two people fill it completely. The television didn’t work for the first night and wasn’t reported to the day staff. The toilet backed up and the staff were unable to locate a plunger. At least the person on the front desk suggested Safeway to get one at 10.30pm. The kitchen lights didn’t work without turning the ceiling fan on. No milk or tea bags, no customer service by the man on the desk on our arrival. He doesn’t know how to problem solve. The master room (laughing) no ceiling fan and due to the room being 70% glass it was very hot. Then a disappointing breakfast where nothing was explained and to an Australian you just don’t help yourself to the fridge or cupboards but this was expected here. The is a shower curtain in the bath made the shower a very closed in space and a funny grey mold on the tiles doesn’t say freshly renovated.
The vertical blinds did nothing to keep the light or the heat out of both the main room and the strange glassed in patio. All in all the hotels saving grace was the location and Sunday onwards staff. I would not say this is value for money. I hope our other hotels are not as disappointing this one during our stay in Canada.

My family booked an one bedroom unit here for 4 nights. Great location so close to Stanley park, restaurants and boat harbour. We were lucky to be on the Harbour side so had great views ( we go to see the view from the other side of the building when we had a plumbing issue and had to spend a night in another unit while the issue was resolved), The unit was too small for four adults but as we were only there 4 nigh were weren’t able to book a 2 bed unit which was very disappointing.
Staff were very helpful and able to come up with a suitable solution to a plumbing issue that arose in the unit.

This is a top rack (non-luxury) hotel. Great rooms, views, service, attention, and quality. Parking stinks, but what doesn’t in the Vancouver area? Close to great restaurants, the Metropolis Mall, and the Asian mall (below the Hilton).

Here are my 5×5 notes. Five stars (*) is best:
1) Room Quality: *****
2) Updated and Modern: *****
3) Front Desk Service: *****
4) Housekeeping Quality: *****
5) Price and Value: *****
Overall rating = 5.0 (and I’m pretty picky)

Will I/we return? Yes, definitely!

Breakfast included? Yes. Good selection, nicely furnished.
Treats loyal travelers well? Yes
Executive Lounge? Yes, for SPG elites
Parking fees? Yes, tight spaces.
Fitness center quality: Great
Pool quality: Has one, haven’t used it.

We stayed here back in May . I had just undergone a procedure which was both emotionally and physically difficult and when we checked in it was night time . After spending the whole day in emergency I was obviously exhausted . It was me , my husband and our toddler. The room beside us was partying all night long and it was just too much for me after everything .
I called front desk and they came and escorted us right away to a new room and gave us the best room they had. They allowed us to leave our things in the original room as not to wake my toddler etc.
The next day they called to see if we needed help transferring our luggage and they called us to check in and they even gave us a dessert with their card and their caring words for what we had been through .

That just blew me away I have stayed in many 5 star hotels and the customer service here was what you you would have expected at a luxury property . Although this isn’t a luxury hotel it was still very nice .

Great clean and modern rooms as well ! Nice touch with the included breakfast with some hot items . A great hotel !

The hotel is a bit tired but well kepted. The bed was very comfortable and the staff pleasant and helpful. A lot of food options nearby. Would recommend this hotel for sure. Walking distance to many attractions. Good value.

Selected this hotel based on ratings, and it’s really good. Spacious rooms with kitchen, great location near sea wall, good service, clean bathroom and comfy beds, everything worked. Includes continental breakfast which is pretty good, if you like carbohydrates: make your own waffles, also croissants, muffins, cereal. You are served on the small lobby, bring your plates down from your room, and bring your food back up to the room to eat and do your own dishes. Pretty efficient for the hotel, a bit inconvenient for guests.
But that’s minor. We very much enjoyed our stay and recommend Sunset.
Service is really good. Upon arrival there was an issue with our reservation, and the front desk clerk (shout out to Elvis!) resolved it quickly and efficiently.

Travelled with my wife on our annual holiday. Stayed at the Sunset for 6 nights. The rooms are very clean. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. The room we had had a small kitchenette, but you collect your breakfast form the foyer and take it back to your room. 15 minute walk to the waterfront and restaurants. I suggest that you walk to most of the attractions as you get to see much more.

Second stay @Lord Stanley Suites – after first time in May 2016, knew I’d come back!

Cozy apartment-hotel w/ small equipped kitchen & washer-dryer in apt, as well as free WiFi & cable TV – particularly good for longer/extended stays. Complimentary breakfast 7-9AM (“continental” + waffle maker.) Small gym & indoor parking, too; but did not use either, so cannot review. Some rooms may be more renovated than others, but comfortable & clean. Many have lovely, at least partial views of Stanley Park and/or Cole Harbour w/ snow-capped mountains beyond!
(Did not travel w/ disabled family member as in past hotel review, so cannot attest to accessibility beyond hotel lobby [assist to open manual glass front door if not already open, high check-in desk] & elevator [reasonable delay time open/close doors.] But standard room would be quite tight for manual wheelchair-user to manoeuvre; and no adaptations, of course. Breakfast room would require some assistance [reach some items, re-arrange table/seating at bit, assist to open manual glass entrance door if not already open], but staff present to assist.)

But #1 reason to stay here is the *excellent* location (and *the* reason chose this hotel in first place): Literally 1 block from magnificent Stanley Park’s Lost Lagoon & Cole Harbour across the street (W. Georgia Str), in bustling west end / Denman Str area. That means 1-15 min walk to Stanley Park & seawall, Vancouver Aquarium, all sorts of restaurants, bike rental shops, and essentials (groceries, pharmacies, banks.) <5 min walk to Robson Str, then 20 min walk along Robson to its famous shopping district downtown. And a nice 20-30 min stroll to downtown Canada Place along the waterfront, or over to English Bay beach along Denman Str.
Easily accessible by public transport w/ multiple buses from downtown (Vancouver City Ctr station, Canada Line of Skytrain) stopping w/in 2 blocks of hotel (stop: W. Georgia @Denman); and along Robson etc. See public transport website translink.ca for details – NB: “Compass” card can be reloaded online.

Last but not least: Friendly, helpful concierges & staff. Returning to the hotel one evening, concierge said “Welcome home!” – and it really felt like it. Will be back for sure!

I stayed here while attending a conference. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. I had a bit of a view of the harbour as well.

The location is right downtown and only a couple of blocks from the Skytrain.

The best part was definitely the food at the conference. I have never eaten so well before! They outdid themselves at each meal. We will definitely return.

Beautiful views, close to cruise port. Food downstairs in the restaurant was even good, and they had creative cocktails. With a great kids menu and activities. Can walk to sea wall and shopping, and restaurants. Clean and quiet rooms, lots of elevators.
Everything in Vancouver is crazy expensive, as is this hotel. But you get what you pay for. Outstanding service by the front desk, bellman and concierge, and the room was perfect in every way. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the city.
Rooms, beds and bathroom are good. Maybe to expensive for what you get. Service was good, our aircon broke down, they moved us directly to an other room. Barbarea was good, good snacks, friendly personnel. The hotel was also accessible from Pender st. At /the opposite site you can take a good breakfast.

Pros: (Almost) a newly built hotel with clean and quite rooms. Good for both business and family trips! Close to many different businesses and restaurants.

Cons: They charge $15/night for parking. Tip: park in some of the nearby parking lots for less or in street for free!

Arrived for work – first time in Vancouver. My meeting was in Surrey but the Sheraton was under renovations so opted for the Element. What a wonderful choice!
The staff, including front desk, restaurant and housekeeping, was friendly and a pleasure to deal with.
I asked for a quiet room and was given wonderful room with an amazing view. Will definitely return again!

Newer hotel at a busy intersection but wasn’t bad to navigate around. Close to lots of restaurants and across the street from Crystal Mall and 2 blocks to Metrotown Mall. Decent basic breakfast is included in a nice lounge on the 5th floor. We got upgraded to the 17th floor and it had a nice view but rooms are on the smallish side. Mini kitchenette with a small bar size fridge. Bathroom was clean and nice with a shower stall only. One issue is that you had to watch TV sideways from the bed. Even though we were up high you can still hear traffic noise

My husband and I stayed for one month, and enjoyed everything from the cleanliness to the impeccably made beds. I should mention that the bed, and the bedding couldn’t be anymore comfortable than they were. I’m actually in pursuit of ordering the same bedding, including the pillows. At almost 60 years old, we had thought we’ve experienced nice bedding, but theirs definitely made us know that isn’t true. We could hardly wait to return to our room each night just to lay in the freshly made bed. Besides that, and cleanliness, all the staff were pleasant, and helpful. We do hope to stay again soon.

Our suite was great, spacious, clean, well organised. Great variety of restaurants close by and pharmacy. Located in a neighbourhood (oh my gosh with real trees) off the main grid, $7 cab ride to Rogers arena

Excellent location with many good restaurants within walking distance. We stayed for one night in an Executive Suite with two beds for a family of four. My teens enjoyed the space and the balcony. We have view of the mountain and the city. I will definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

We stayed for 4 nights Saturday to Wednesday.

The area is fairly quiet but is very close to Davie Street for restaurants and bars.

If you prefer others, it’s a 10 minute walk.

The room was large and spacious with all the kitchenette amenities. It was very clean.

Breakfast is ok, please note that you have to take your crockery to the lobby to collect breakfast and take to your room. This may not suit everyone

We were a family of four that included two kids. We had a very good stay. Clean rooms, friendly and courteous staff. Property is well located. Walking distance to the beach. Restaurants were easily accessible. Parking was crammed though but was manageable.
