Marriott Vancouver Pinnacle Hotel

I have yet to stay in this specific hotel and am VERY excited to spend my weekend with my girlfriends in downtown Vancouver.
I am very disappointed and sad to say that when I called to confirm my reservation (to make sure it was in their system, yes, I like to be sure) and although I booked through Expedia I was very confused on why the lady wasn’t able to pull up my reservation. I completely understand the whole third party situation as I use to work in a hotel. BUT from the moment this lady answered the phone she was completely RUDE. I was simply confused and still am confused on why she couldn’t pull my name up? As I had told her, when I check in they will have to search it by my name anyways? I am so very disappointed in this receptionist. I hope and pray the staff working during our stay isn’t this rude. I was simply asking some questions, not sure why she had to be rude. If you don’t like your job, find a new one.

This was our first time to Vancouver and we were very impressed with this hotel! It seemed much nicer than any other Marriott we’ve ever stayed in. The views from the 26th floor out towards the harbor are spectacular!! The staff seem very friendly. They recommended some great spots around town. Parking is underneath in a public garage with hotel parking starting on the 3rd level. We did not eat in the hotel, but every time we walked past it had a good sized crowd. The bar has a great selection of wines, beers and spirits. The bartender was very helpful and had great suggestions. Walking around the city and waterfront were simple from the hotel’s very agreeable location.

Lord Stanley Suites On The Park

My partner stayed here as he had just gotten out of the Lions Gate hospital from a mountain biking accident. As our travel insurance was supposed to organise our hotel and didn’t, we were left stranded in Vancouver with nowhere to stay for the next 2 weeks We had plenty of luggage and I was the only one capable of carting it around. After calling numerous booked out hotels I got through to Lord Stanley. What a saviour! They didn’t have a room available for the whole 2 weeks but after a long telephone conversation (Frustrating on their end I’m sure – sorry mate!) the receptionist was able to organise us 3 seperate rooms for the duration. We checked out of the first at 12pm and checked back in at 3pm and so on. During the checking out process they stored our luggage (including cold items in the fridge) and brought them up to the room again when it was clean. Each day when we arrived and left the hotel the receptionists would have a chat which was very comforting in the time which was very hard for us. The staff at this hotel are very accomodating. The service was impeccable! We stayed in Canada/ North America for 2.5 months and this was the most outstanding service by far. I can’t comment on the price as it was paid directly from our travel insurance company. We stayed in two rooms overlooking Alberti street and one overlooking the bay. Both were beautiful views! We had an excellent time. The elevators were fast, the breakfast was good but basic. We didn’t go down for breakfast much as its a first in first served until sold out situation and we weren’t getting up early.

The location was perfect! We couldn’t go far from the hotel due to my partners injuries but everything is in walking distance! Safeway, restaurants, the library, Stanley park etc are all extremely close. This is a great hotel in a beautiful street! 10/10. The only improvements I could see would be the size of the bedrooms and the appliances in the kitchen.

For the touristy rooms, I feel the study is a bit of a waste of space when the bedrooms are so small. This was a little hard when trying to get my partner into bed at night as one side was against the wall and the other side had very little room to move. I also feel that the utensils in the kitchen need to be improved.

Because we stayed for quite a long time we made plenty of meals. We had to keep buying the utensils/ pots/ pans etc from Safeway to cook the meals we wanted. Because we stayed so long the kitchen was very handy, and the main reason we called this place in the beginning over other hotels.

Otherwise everything about this apartment is great. All 3 rooms had a balcony and superb views. The location and friendly staff made this place amazing. If we ever get back to Vancouver we will stay here, no doubt about it.

Found this hotel to be a great value and suited our needs for our weekend getaway.

It is just a short walk from a variety of pubs and restaurants and also, from the little taxi boats that take you across to Granville Island.

Our room was clean and spacious. The alley view was not ideal but in the evening, we still got a nice view of the city lights.

The complimentary breakfast was nice to have available but quite limited. If we returned to this hotel, we would likely bring our own breakfast supplies for the mornings.

Some of the staff at the hotel were terrific. The man who checked us in however, didn’t seem overly impressed that we were checking in early. We had called in advance to ask if we could check in early and were given the green light. Perhaps there was a lack of communication between staff members and he was unaware.

Overall, we did have a good experience here and we would return to this hotel in the future.

Large clean room, with lots of plug-ins including USB, free Wifi and convenient location.
Wish there was a place to sit for the breakfast and a larger selection of items.
All in all it was a good value.
Good service, clean rooms, roomy suites and massive beds. In the city. It is in walking distance of everything:) Canada place about 30 minutes walking. Places to eat and convenience stores about 5 minutes walking. Stanley park about 30 minutes walking. Gas Town 35 minutes walking.

Few other rooms offer the views of a corner suite at this hotel. Got spectacular views of both rising and setting full moons on first night. Closest hotel to Stanley Park. GREAT value!

The manager was very nice with us upon our arrival and the place is very clean and cannot complain about the breakfast !! A la prochain Lord Stanley !

David Andersen who handled our reservation was courteous, and very professional. Friendly but not invasive. He spent time to direct us to places we were looking for. Off to a great start. We checked out at noon time a few days later, and David was very helpful in letting us use the facilities late afternoon as our flight was later that night. Finishing off our stay with nothing but praise for the exceptional service. The suite was clean and very well equipped. Will definitely recommend this place.

The bed was like a cloud. The view of the Vancouver yacht club and, on a sunny day, the mountains, was an unexpected delight, Front desk staff were consistently helpful and excellent overall. front door security was also excellent, I felt safe staying alone. The location, a short walk to Stanley Park sea wall, was perfect for me, it was a short and easy bus ride to the art gallery and other downtown attractions, I would stay here again.

Close to cruise port – Can walk to it (10 minutes). Breakfast buffet better than average. Worth getting as part of package but maybe not as a separate item

This was our 2nd stay here. Even though we arrived early in the day we were able to check in and get our room. The reception desk was very friendly and professional. It was a chilly grey day, so after a quick trip to a hair salon our party met in the hotel bar/restaurant area. One of the bartenders remembered us from our being there 2 years ago! (Think maybe we stayed too long in the bar?? Nah.) Happy hour is every day from 3p-6p, Every day! Bar food was great. Good buzz in the place – it’s set up to be very comfortable to roost for a while. The rooms are gorgeous. Ask for a harbor view. We had access to the concierge lounge, which was beautiful. A very nice and tasty spread is put out in the evening; I can’t remember if this is an option every night, though. I rate this one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. Walking distance to Canada Place and for us, Stanley Park, but we’re walkers so keep that in mind, if you have limitations.

The corner rooms have a wonderful view of the harbor and mountains. The workout room is well equipped. The pool has a dry and steam sauna. The staff was helpful and the hotel is very quite. The internet had good speed at normal level.

Element Vancouver Metrotown

Happy to have returned to the Element Metrotown during the Christmas season. We were staying in a 1 bedroom suite on the seventeenth floor. We had amazing views of the Northshore Mountains on Christmas Day as it was sunny and we could see the peaks. Even when the clouds rolled in we still have great views.

The room was nice and a decent size for a couple. It had a separate bedroom / living room with a kitchen with a cooktop, full refrigerator, and dishwasher (think of a modern condo). It also had a nice sized balcony that I imagine would be nice to use in the warmer months. The bathroom was a decent size with a large walk in shower. They use full bottles of amenities in the washroom as they aim to be environmentally friendly.

The pool area was nice with a small lap pool, hot tub, and sauna. Breakfast was decent with a selection of warm food, breads, muffins, cereals, and juices. Plenty enough for all there. It was quite busy in the breakfast room but there was a variety of seating so finding a seat was not a problem.

Overall I would return to the Element again.

Very much enjoyed the hotel. Easy access to restaurants. Staff was very friendly and pleasant.

Breakfast was utilitarian. Some variety – the vegetarian option everyday though contained egg whites and spinach. I was tired of it after two days. (Note: I have spent 130 nights in hotels this year – I’m tired of hotel breakfasts and am bored of the same things every morning).

Vancouver was honoured with a slew of awards and accolades. In 2016

Six reasons Vancouver keeps breaking tourism records

Tourism Vancouver reports more than 10 million tourists visited the city in 2016, a new best for Metro Vancouver’s tourism industry, and the third record-breaking year in a row. Here are six reasons why Vancouver is so popular:

1. Vancouver hosted 29 conventions in 2016 that attracted some 160,000 attendees, including the TED Conference (1,800 attendees) and the American Society of Human Genetics annual meeting (8,000 attendees).

2. Vancouver’s biggest travel market, the United States, brought 2.3 million overnight visitors last year, up nearly 10 per cent from 2015. China remains Vancouver’s largest overseas visitor market with 280,000 total visitors in 2016.

3. Rugby fever. The World Rugby Sevens held its inaugural event in Canada at B.C. Place Stadium in March, drawing a crowd of more than 60,000, exceeding all expectations.

4. People love Vancouver’s summer. July, August and September were 2016’s strongest months for Vancouver’s accommodation sector. In July, daily occupancy in Metro Vancouver hotels was 94.1 per cent.

5. Vancouver’s cruise season keeps them coming. Port Metro Vancouver welcomed 826,820 passengers on 28 ships making 228 voyages in 2016.
Each time a cruise ship arrives in Vancouver, it stimulates more than $2 million in economic activity.

6. Vancouver scored a bounty of awards and accolades. Skytrax World Airport Awards named YVR the best airport in North America for an unprecedented seventh consecutive year; The Guardian recognized English Bay as one of the world’s best city beaches; and Forbes named the BMO Vancouver Marathon among the world’s top marathons worth travelling for.

It’s estimated that the tourism industry in Vancouver contributes about $4.4 billion to the Metro Vancouver economy annually and provides more than 70,000 full-time jobs.
