This is a good hotel for service and also location. Our room was clean, decent sized, bed comfortable, shower ok. Staff were very friendly. Pool was nice and water temperature good. Work out area well equipped.
The hotel is a short walk from the subway (skytrain) station, which can easily bring you to the airport or the main train station. We had a room looking onto the bay and could see the sea planes landing.
The Concierge room is very small but seemed to accommodate the guests enough. Evening snacks were great. Breakfast on the sparse side.
As Platinum Elite members, we opted to stay at the Marriott Pinnacle, foregoing other hotels in the area. It was a great choice! The hotel is remarkable service-friendly and tourist-friendly. Check-in was seamless, and the room offered great views of the harbor. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable, as were the pillows (which seems to be an increasing rarity in our travels). The downstairs bar offers great selections of wine, liquors, and local beers.
You cannot leave a review without commenting on proximity. Proximity is ideal here! You are close to the harbor, close to shopping, and close to our favorite area of Vancouver: the historic Gas Town.
Note: downtown Vancouver to the airport is a bit of a drive, so keep that in mind, but we highly recommend staying downtown. On our first trip to Vancouver, we stayed near the airport (which is Richmond, not Vancouver) and taxied into the city. That was convenient only for early-morning flyers (as we were), but it did not allow you enough time in the city.
I was here for just a couple of nights. But I really liked it. First, the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room is spacious, comfortable, with all the amenities you need. Nights are silent, the bed is comfy, the TV has a good choice of channels, wifi works just fine. My only gripe is the A/C that is a bit noisy. But I could open a bit of the window what would let me turn it off at night. Very good experience.
Started a tour in Vancouver and stayed here. Great location downtown. Two blocks from Olympic Village. Short walking distance from Portland convention center. Spacious room with safe and all amenities. Nice gift shop and bar and restaurant.
The hotel is close to the Waterfront Station. We arrived at YVR airport and bought Compass Cards from kiosks on the platform. Cards are $7 each, which is refundable. YVR to Waterfront Station takes about 25 minutes.
The front desk staff (Carlos and an Aussie gentleman who’s name we didn’t catch) were solid. Carlos gave us quite a few good restaurant recommendations. The front doormen were careful to watch who came and went and we appreciate good security. The lady concierge was impatient and gave us a what-a-dumb-question look when we asked her what (if any) was the difference between the two city tour companies. She said that they were all the same.
The bed was big and comfortable. The room was very quiet and we slept like babies. We were quite pleased that the room was thoroughly cleaned every day.
There’s an indoor pool that’s open to about 11 pm.
Suggest you go for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, which his just steps from the hotel. We also re-loaded our Compass cards because we used them quite a bit to explore the city by bus and train when it was too hot to walk around.
Spent a few days here for some meals and meetings. I stayed down the street for accommodations as this hotel was full. The conference facilities were excellent. Food was very good. service was fast and attentive. So…my rating of sleep quality is not valid but the web page forces a rating.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was located in a good area that was relatively quite. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was fantastic. I had a harbor view room which I would very much recommend. I only stayed one night, but I will defiantly stay here on my next trip to Vancouver.
Perfect location for walking to and from the convention center, touring around the waterfront, fantastic restaurants and even gelato and shops right outside the door.
Concierge room for those Elite Marriott members provides great views of the bay for breakfast. Beds are the classic Marriott beds. I slept well every specially for being in the big city! Rooms well appointed, staff happy and smiling all the time!
Would be great for a return trip – business or vacation!
Be treated by this hotel’s staff is a privilege. A great expression of Canadian Kindness. Starting at the front desk, professionals work at this well situated hotel, everything is close. Good for business, great bar and lobby ambiance. Lot of people dinning at all times. Good food. Fair executive lounge, a bit to small. Good concierge for getting hockey game tickets. Bell and porters at the door high level.
Best omelette eaten in years, customized and incredibly well executed. And Best of all Shweeta and her team at the front desk
Love this hotel, restaurant, bar, staff and rooms. Excellent overall just plain great! I will be glad to stay there anytime and the rate was also superb. Location to the Canada Line was a bit difficult so maybe some guidance there would work well.
We had a corner room on the 6 floor. The room was a half circle. It was one of the most unique rooms we have stayed in. The windows were full size and also full half circle. The windows also opened. The bed was king size and very comfortable. It has a flat screen TV. My only complaint was the TV was not easy to watch from the bed. The TV was on a table to the right of the bed. The bathroom was good sized. It has an enclosed shower and a bathtub. It also had large windows the opened. We self parked and never had a problem finding a space. We also had the breakfast buffet both days and it a good selection of good. We were attending the New Eve party at the Canada Place. It was a easy five block walk. We stayed at this property because of the location. We consider the property to be very luxury. We were amazed at the gift shop prices. It was certainly inexpensive for souvenirs. We can’t wait to stay here again. Free wifi if your a Marriott member.
The staff was very helpful but our only complaint was the lousy driving directions we got from them. Most of the time they were wrong and caused us much confusion. It is hard when your driving in a strange city and had wrong directions. Other then than I would rate the staff with high marks.
Very good location for Convention Center access. Rooms were great and staff was friendly. Lobby bar was great. Could use more staff at front desk for busy check in check out, but not too long of a wait.
Marriott Vancouver Pinnacle Hotel 2nd Review
We stayed here for one night around the holidays. The property was better than expected and our room had a very nice view. If possible, ask for a higher floor with a view of the harbour. The room was quiet and felt like a nice escape from the busy city. The bed was very comfortable. Service was very good, check-in process was very quick and the concierge was very helpful! If given the opportunity we would stay here again and would recommend to family and friends.
