made our reservation last November for the SeaWheeze 1/2 Marathon The reservation is for 3 adults. We show up at 4:30 for check in and they give us a room with one king size bed, saying it is the only room available. BS could go online and book a room with 2 double beds, Just got a call, suddenly “a family checked out early” and they had a room.
Again I call BS they were holding rooms for parties of 4 and after 6 pm released some.
The Reception desk was extremely helpful when we arrived early! The room was very comfortable and the Concierge service was exceptional. The Location is perfect – very central – within walking distance to “Canada Place” – great place to stay!
The Marriott Pinnacle Downtown as great service. Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful. It’s buzzing with people and a lot of action in the lobby and around the hotel. It’s close to Canada Place. Easy walk to shopping. Rooms are comfortable. The bell hops are especially helpful.
this was a very nice hotel – walking distance to many attractions. very clean, good helpful staff. breakfast buffet was well worth it — many choices and good quality. free flavored water in lobby and sometimes cookies
he room is clean and the bathroom newly updated. It states clearly on the concierge lounge card that each room gets one guest (and you) into the lounge. However, groups of 4 to 6 come in constantly, and the one guest rule is not policed. The lounge is also small (about the size of one hotel room), so the tiny lounge felt more like a McDonalds play pen than anything. If the 2-person rule was enforced, the lounge would still be crowded but at least more manageable. Breakfast in the lounge is just not possible – so crowded with large parties and overrun with children: standing room only, Not a great experience – will be trying a different Marriott next time.
Although the hotel needs a bit of sprucing up, the staff are superb and the location is ideal for access to the downtown core and waterfront (200 meters from Olympic torch). Restaurant menu and service are excellent.
Small issues with the room (broken towel rack, broken toilet flush lever/plunger) were dealt with immediately.
Would recommend as a good option if you aren’t looking for opulence.
I stayed here while attending a conference. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. I had a bit of a view of the harbour as well.
The location is right downtown and only a couple of blocks from the Skytrain.
The best part was definitely the food at the conference. I have never eaten so well before! They outdid themselves at each meal. We will definitely return.
Beautiful views, close to cruise port. Food downstairs in the restaurant was even good, and they had creative cocktails. With a great kids menu and activities. Can walk to sea wall and shopping, and restaurants. Clean and quiet rooms, lots of elevators.
Everything in Vancouver is crazy expensive, as is this hotel. But you get what you pay for. Outstanding service by the front desk, bellman and concierge, and the room was perfect in every way. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the city.
Rooms, beds and bathroom are good. Maybe to expensive for what you get. Service was good, our aircon broke down, they moved us directly to an other room. Barbarea was good, good snacks, friendly personnel. The hotel was also accessible from Pender st. At /the opposite site you can take a good breakfast.
Was here 3 nights for a conference. Conference was also held here. Rooms was comfortable, spacious, and had a great view of the city. Bathroom was huge. Walking distance to everything! Loved that you could also open the window and hear the city at night. Fresh air was awesome. Super clean.
Doorman was excellent and we chatted often about places to visit, really helpful.
Conference was huge with hundreds of people. Buffet was exceptional every day, food was delicious. Huge fan of this hotel. Will return!!
Concierge helpful. Front desk staff and housekeeping kind of quiet. Bed comfy. Gym and pool awesome. Wet and dry sauna w hot tub. Overall just a great stay. Marriott owners can enjoy the food on concierge level – it is quite good and lots of it. We would come back! Lots of great tours to take fr here. Whistler and Fly Over Canada are “must-sees!”
No restaurant on the property but plenty in the area. (Hotel also a great snack bar). But the best part was the skylight breakfast that is included with your room. BEST Hotel breakfast EVER!!!! The staff was wonderful to us.
Beautiful hotel in downtown Vancouver a couple of blocks from the water. There is park nearby and plenty of restaurants just around the corner. The rooms were clean with scenic views. Elevators were fast and the staff is friendly.
My family and I stayed on the 23rd floor. Rooms are smaller than we’re used to but beds are very comfortable. Washroom is nicely updated, and it was nice to see a Keurig coffee maker. However, it wasn’t necessary as we wandered up to the 25th floor lounge, which was stocked with plenty of hot choices for breakfast (best sausages I’ve had in ANY hotel). Staff in the lounge were EXCELLENT! Appy hour is also well stocked and nice not to have to venture to a restaurant nearby.
I stayed at this place couple of times. It’s a beautiful hotel with close proximity to offices and many restaurants in the downtown. The food at the concierge room was excellent too. The front desk staff has been very helpful. Enjoyed the stay!
I have yet to stay in this specific hotel and am VERY excited to spend my weekend with my girlfriends in downtown Vancouver.
I am very disappointed and sad to say that when I called to confirm my reservation (to make sure it was in their system, yes, I like to be sure) and although I booked through Expedia I was very confused on why the lady wasn’t able to pull up my reservation. I completely understand the whole third party situation as I use to work in a hotel. BUT from the moment this lady answered the phone she was completely RUDE. I was simply confused and still am confused on why she couldn’t pull my name up? As I had told her, when I check in they will have to search it by my name anyways? I am so very disappointed in this receptionist. I hope and pray the staff working during our stay isn’t this rude. I was simply asking some questions, not sure why she had to be rude. If you don’t like your job, find a new one.
This was our first time to Vancouver and we were very impressed with this hotel! It seemed much nicer than any other Marriott we’ve ever stayed in. The views from the 26th floor out towards the harbor are spectacular!! The staff seem very friendly. They recommended some great spots around town. Parking is underneath in a public garage with hotel parking starting on the 3rd level. We did not eat in the hotel, but every time we walked past it had a good sized crowd. The bar has a great selection of wines, beers and spirits. The bartender was very helpful and had great suggestions. Walking around the city and waterfront were simple from the hotel’s very agreeable location.
Close to cruise port – Can walk to it (10 minutes). Breakfast buffet better than average. Worth getting as part of package but maybe not as a separate item
This was our 2nd stay here. Even though we arrived early in the day we were able to check in and get our room. The reception desk was very friendly and professional. It was a chilly grey day, so after a quick trip to a hair salon our party met in the hotel bar/restaurant area. One of the bartenders remembered us from our being there 2 years ago! (Think maybe we stayed too long in the bar?? Nah.) Happy hour is every day from 3p-6p, Every day! Bar food was great. Good buzz in the place – it’s set up to be very comfortable to roost for a while. The rooms are gorgeous. Ask for a harbor view. We had access to the concierge lounge, which was beautiful. A very nice and tasty spread is put out in the evening; I can’t remember if this is an option every night, though. I rate this one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. Walking distance to Canada Place and for us, Stanley Park, but we’re walkers so keep that in mind, if you have limitations.
The corner rooms have a wonderful view of the harbor and mountains. The workout room is well equipped. The pool has a dry and steam sauna. The staff was helpful and the hotel is very quite. The internet had good speed at normal level.
We have stayed in many hotels throughout the world and the service at this lovely hotel was exceptional and as good as we have had in some of the best we have enjoyed. From the moment we arrived until our early morning departure after our four night stay the staff, from reception, cleaner, managers, bar staff, concierge, doorman – all were friendly, professional and provided a welcoming and enjoyable experience. The hotel itself has spacious rooms with those having harbour views the best. The bar and restaurant are excellent and the facilities also fantastic. The location is also great with just a walk down to the foreshore of the harbour, a reasonable walk or very short $5 cab ride to gastown. A thoroughly enjoyable experience
This was my second stay here. The hotel rooms and beds are very comfortable. Good mattress and pillows and I appreciated that the down-like cover was a bit heavier and warmer than that of most hotels.
The location was really great, close to all the attractions. The staff were extremely helpful, especially the lady who received us at the front desk, she made all efforts to ensure we are comfortable and satisfied with the service, i would recommend the hotel
I stayed in this property for 10 days on a business trip.
The room was of average size. If you are going to stay here, try to get a high floor, harbour facing. The view is quite spectacular even though it’s partially obstructed.
The good: Service in the restaurant was good, and the food was excellent. Cleaning and maintenance staff was attentive and the property was well cared for. Special thanks to Noel in the restaurant who was very friendly and helpful.
The bad: I found that a couple of the men working at the front desk were very snobby, condescending and unhelpful. Not the typical standard for Marriott.
The best: RJ that works at the main front door. He was the hero of this property in my opinion. So helpful, so cheerful, so committed to providing guests with excellent service. A real gem.
Overall, a decent property. Some coaching on customer service might help some of the front desk team.
Got a great deal . Small but nice room. Awesome pool and gym area with the cleanest menthol- infused steam room I’ve ever been to and sauna. My first room smelled like pet urine but they accommodated my request for a switch and the rest of the time was great. On site restaurant was tasty. Over all happy with my stay.
Vey well located. We were given a concierge room overlooking (partially) the water. The service at check in and check out was excellent and the employees ere all very pleasant and helpful. The barman was very good and helpful notwithstanding the problem with his foot
We are Marriott Gold members and were upgraded to nice room with sea view by Craig over the recent Thanksgiving holiday. The location is great, walking distance to Canada Place, Gastown, Pacific Center shopping mall, Robson St restaurants/shops. Taxi ride is quite reasonable from hotel, e.g. C$8 to Chinatown. Dollar Car Rental is walking distance from hotel (rented a car to visit Stanley Park/Capilano Bridge/Grouse Mountain). The staff are all friendly. It’s a good place to stay while visiting Vancouver.
Although it is right downtown on West Hasting street and lot of road construction happening it is fairly easy to get too. Lots of underground parking and the staff was very helpful at getting me settled into the room and vehicle parked.
