Landis Hotel Vancouver

Our family stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. We stayed in three different rooms and all rooms were clean and well equipped. The rooms are enormous and the views were nice. It is located near lots of restaurants. They are discontinuing the continental breakfast which is fine – the delicious Tim Horton’s is right across the street. We used the shuttle to the cruise port – they were right on time, helpful with luggage and friendly. We had several questions and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The workout facility was well equipped and the kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. This hotel is a great deal!!!
Stayed here 2 nights prior to cruise to check out Vancouver. Hotel is in safe area of town. Walking distance to food places & areas check out & see the sites. Our hotel room, 1624, was clean and tidy for 6. Breakfast was all mostly carb based, muffins bread, croissants, bagels and some cereal & juices. The almond croissants are Amazing!!!!!!!! I took some each day for eating as a snack later in the day. I will miss them the most. Pool was good sized. Workout equipment all worked. Would stay here again.
Loved the location and room itself, although housekeeping was mediocre. Room was dusty, fridge had had a previous spill in it which wasn’t wiped out and left door sticky. Little enclosed sunroom provided beautiful view of city, once we cleaned the windows ourselves. Three pillows weren’t cased, and many drawers were dusty and had hairs in them. Front desk staff were stiff and standoffish, at one point telling my daughter and friends, who were taking the shuttle, that the place they wanted to go didn’t exist (it did, which they proved to him on the map) The shuttle driver we had on Monday and Tuesday was amazing. Incredibly friendly and helpful. The street noise Saturday night was a little loud, even 14 floors up, but that was to be expected on a weekend. The rest of the nights were quiet.
Overall, we enjoyed the spacious room and great location of hotel. Amenities were good, pool was always stocked and clean. Would stay again.

Deluxe King Suite: the master bedroom and bath were fine BUT the twin room was so tiny you had to climb a bed to get to the closet. There was barely any walking space. The window was jammed and the room was terribly stuffy. The light switches did not work and we even had to plug in some of the lamp ourselves and turn them on at the bases. The idea of two bathrooms was great, but the one off the dining area set off a blaring smoke alarm from steam, even when the door was closed. We had to constantly ask for towels since they did not provide wash cloths unless we asked. Parking was tight for the mini-van. Got stuck in hotel when keys got deactivated by mistake- you need them to use elevator or get to parking. Shuttle drops off only. Loud street noise due to paper thin windows which to not open. Location for walking was good, Breakfast and breakfast room staff was the best feature but they are discontinuing it. Pool area is shared with Marriott and is very humid, hot and the pool is high in chlorine. We had to ask them to clean better – the paper towel I used to wipe up water from a spill was black when I was done. The common living area was OK with very limited TV options. Overall disappointing.
Overall we were very pleased with our stay here. The rooms are very big – two bedrooms, lounge area, kitchenette and enclosed balcony with table and chairs. The beds are very comfortable, plenty of pillows, towels etc. We were on the 15th floor and even though there was some street noise there was very little noise from other guests. I would guess that rooms on the lower floors could suffer quite a bit with street noise though. The free breakfast (which is being discontinued in 2018) was limited but pastries were of a good standard. I would suggest popping down and getting the breakfast to eat in your room as the seating area is small and cramped. The decor is quite dated and tired but generally clean and tidy. For the price paid and the size of the room I would say this is a great base for a family holiday.
Stayed here for one night as we were transiting through Vancouver on our way to Victoria. Wanted a place that was convenient and could easily accommodate 5 people. The Landis hit the spot. We had a two bedroom room. The larger room had a king size bed with en suite. The second bedroom had a queen bed. There was another bathroom/toilet, a well stocked galley kitchen with large fridge, dining table for four, 2 seater sofa plus a single couch, and a small enclosed balcony/sunroom. Plenty of space for the 5 of us. We used the sofa bed and that was comfortable and not springy or noisy. Each room had its own tv. The room was clean and we had no issues with housekeeping. The hotel is in an excellent spot and many attractions can be reached by walking. We walked to Granville island from the hotel and it took us around 15 mins over the bridge to the island. The hotel did offer breakfast although we did take it up. There was a notice saying that they will discontinue this service though. The pool and gym area was fantastic. The pool was a great size and good for a doing a few laps in the morning. The hotel is next to the Marriot suites and it looks like they share the pool and gym area. There was parking available down below and were charged around $20 for the night. When you first walk into the lobby you get a sinking feeling as it is dated and the man behind the small counter is not the very sociable. However, the suite was great and did not disappoint. We were on the 3rd floor and it did get a little loud if we had the windows open from the Friday night street traffic, so perhaps getting a higher floor might help. The hotel was great and allowed us late check out at 12pm and even gave us a card so that we could leave the car there for longer and we got the car around 3pm.

We love staying at this hotel! We’ve probably stayed here a dozen times over the years. It’s so nice to have two couples staying in the same room, but with separate bedrooms and a communal living room and kitchen to share. There is a small sun room with a dining table in it and a decent view from almost any room.
The location is also perfect. A block away from the busy Granville Street. Whenever we travel with friends or family we all split one of these rooms.

The hotel is only rated 2 star but it was definitely more than ok for or 2 night stay in Vancouver. The rooms are huge with a balcony dining area (windows can be opened), living area, small kitchen, 2 good sized bedrooms and bathroom.

Hotel looks to have been renovated recently and even though some of the furniture is slightly older, the hotel felt clean at all times.

Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen had cups and utensils and electric stove and fridge however no cookware. There was also a microwave, kettle and coffee maker. One thing we noted was that the coffee provided in our room was expired however we didn’t have much time to drink coffee.

There is complimentary breakfast of pastries, bagels, cereal, juice and fruit. No hot breakfast but fine. Believe this will be discontinued as of a January 2018.

This is an affordable place to stay only 4 blocks from Robson street and Granville island Seabus. Very easy to walk or bike around!

The hotel room was really nice and clean. Centrally located to city and a hop on hop off bus. About 25 to 30 minutes from the airport. Staff was really nice. Close to the port! Near lots of places to eat.

We stayed here for one night before a cruise. It was the perfect set-up for us (my husband and I, our son, and Grandma). We arrived later in the evening. They were out of the room size we booked, so we ended up with a free upgrade to a 2br/2ba suite. My husband and I had the master bedroom and our son and grandma shared the other bedroom that had two twin beds. (Our son also could have slept on the couch if it had been one bed in the 2nd bedroom.) You could tell the property was older and that various updates had been made over the years. The suite was clean and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t use anything in the kitchen. We had a nice view from our room. The hotel is nicely located within walking distance of restaurants and things to do. The continental breakfast was very carb-heavy: pastries, a couple of cold cereal options, pastries, bagels, pastries…  They had bananas and apples, but ran out of apples just as we arrived. The breakfast nook is cramped and crowded, but the adjacent patio is perfect in the right weather – green, semi-private, a pretty view, plenty of room, nice and sunny. I was surprised anyone bothered to sit inside. The pool is shared with the hotel next door (a Marriott, I think). We didn’t have time to use it, but it and the fitness center looked fine. Front desk staff was helpful and made sure we had a shuttle at the time we requested it. The driver gave us a little tour of Vancouver on the way to the cruise port and some tips on navigating the dock. We’d stay here again for a longer visit. The price was excellent and there was absolutely no need to spend $400+ to stay closer to the port.

The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the subway, but close to bus stops. The rooms are quite, although it’s on a busy street. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which had a small kitchen, 1 small bedroom and another which was bigger, as well as a living room with dining corner. The room is equipped with all you need but don’t expect luxury. The pool is big but the water is quite cold. Next is a whirlpool with warm water. We missed morning gown. Breakfast is mostly sweet, without ham, eggs, but you can eat well if you like different buns.

This was my 8th consecutive year to spend a week at the Landis (I travel to Vancouver from the US every year to participate in Vancouver Marathon events). My experiences have never been anything but excellent. From the General Manager, to the other front desk staff to the staff that service my room, I have always been treated as a valued guest. And now, as a repeat customer I am always recognized and welcomed back enthusiastically. I love the roominess of the suites, the full kitchen, the central location. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. And I’m looking forward to the upgrades to the suites that are planned in the coming months. Thank you everyone for another great stay in Vancouver!
Stayed here in April for a conference at another property. Had never heard of it before but I am glad I took a chance. The entire property is full service suites – two separate bed rooms, living, kitchen, bath. VERY spacious – even a glassed in deck with a table for four. Three TV’s!. Property was very clean and well laid out. Comfortable sleep. It was quite a way to the conference I was attending but the hotel provides a free shuttle service to virtually all downtown locations. If that’s not your thing, you are one block off the transit line so getting around is, in fact, quite easy. The first night there a major party was going on next door. When I called to complain (twice) they did their best to deal with it – given the level of drunkeness (and I understand this) they couldn’t toss them out but they did, finally, get them quieted down. In the morning, when I formally complained, the manager credited my bill with 1/2 a nights stay – taken from the occupants of the room responsible for all the noise. A pleasant surprise.

The apartment style accommodation was perfect for us. We have three teenage boys so the living and dining areas provided extra space and there was room for everyone

Good location near Yaletown with easy access to public transport. Staff were very helpful with an early check in and late check out. Deluxe suite was spacious for a family of 5 adults. Breakfast was light but tasty. Overall a great place to stay

The 2 bedroom suites are great when travelling with kids. More than enough room for everyone, ensuite for the parents. Older type apartment block, but only 15 mins easy walk to Canada Place and handy to Granville Island. This is our second stay in 3 years and it is our go to accommodation when we come to Vancouver. Staff are super helpful, and the free shuttle to downtown is a god send on cold mornings!

Great location. We had a 2 bedroom suite, which was incredibly spacious. Easily walk to the main shopping streets. Whilst we didn’t use it, it was also within walking distance to the underground train service. Free shuttle to drop you off anywhere in town.

2 bedroom apartment great size for 5 people. Comfortable with an excellent view. Staff were amazing and helpful. Shuttle bus very convenient. Breakfast provided plentiful.

Rooms were perfect for a family and even though there was a huge music festival going on, we didn’t hear a peep from the young groups of kids partying all night. The living room was comfy and the view was spectacular. The full size fridge and freezer was great, I loved the space to be able to cook a meal rather than take the kids out for dinner or lunch every meal. The pool was a hit with the kids, it was large and had a great hot tub for relaxing. It is shared with the Marriott Hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect. there were plenty of restaurants nearby and it was an easy walk or taxi ride to Granville island, and to shopping.

I traveled for a conference and booked this place. Reasonably priced and located centrally it was very convenient and comfortable. I booked with the complementary breakfast but it was one of the most disappointing experience. They did not have a great selection and non dairy option. I asked just in case but was not told not possible. The baked goods were so stale I had to go out looking for decent breakfast place close by. One thing to remember when booking, make sure to ask for rooms away from the main street. The hotel does not have double glazing windows so every noise from the streets are carried into the room.

Loved the location of this spot and the cost. Being right downtown for a short 3 night stay was important for our family. And it offers a kitchen, 2 bedroom suite, very spacious. No extra frills or amenities though – which is likely what makes it a good value. Attention to detail could be a bit better…but I’d still recommend it to families who like the option of a kitchen and space right downtown.

The reception area is quite small and understated and my initial thoughts on entering it were ‘I may have made a mistake here’.
However, check in was efficient and we were up in the 9th floor two bedroom two bathroom suite in no time.
Good: Space, cleanliness, 3 televisions, fantastic showers with great hot water, comfortable beds, aircon/heating, views of downtown, location (Taxi rank outside, trolley bus stops), 7/11 store, gym, pool/jacuzzi, breakfast room, complimentary breakfast, kitchen facilities, towels/toiletries, black out blinds, storage space, security, printing facility, late check out, luggage storage.
Not so good: Can be some noise from streets at times (sirens etc). 9th floor was about the minimum height for us.
Overall we were very happy here and settled in well and felt very homely!Would choose again for ease of access, facilities and comfort. Complimentary breakfast was very nice and never completely full when we attended. Staff were pleasant.

Three friends and I stayed three nights at the Landis Hotel. We had a two-bedroom suite that included kitchen, living room, glass-walled dining room, and a bathroom with a very long counter (great for four women). The location is in downtown Vancouver. Depending on how much you like to walk, you don’t need a taxi or bus for anything except Stanley Park. The hop-on hop-off bus stops next door; we walked from the Granville Island water taxi in 15 minutes. A wide variety of restaurants is also within walking distance – see The Red Umbrella and Bin 941.

We travelled with our two adult daughters. I booked this hotel some months in advance via an online booking site, and got a very good price. Two bedroom, one bathroom, full kitchen, lounge and enclosed balcony dining for four. Decor and furnishings are tired and in need of an update but for the price it was really quite comfortable. The included breakfast for four just made the deal even better. Not a bad selection of pastries, cereals, bagels, fruit, with juice, tea or coffee. You could even make your own waffles. I would recommend this place for anyone travelling with family on a budget. Probably not in the nicest part of the central business district, but not unsafe.
