We wanted to stay in a nice place after spending 4 days on a train across Canada. The room was very spacious and the shower and bathroom facilities were excellent. The hotel is centrally located too many eating areas and the buses to local attractions lie Capilano Park, Stanley Park and Granville Island are within walking distance. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The WiFi service is excellent too. Would stay again next time we are in Vancouver.
Very good location – close to everything, within 10 min walk of shops and not far from Gastown. Rooms are very nice, very clean and bed/pillows so comfortable. Staff friendly and efficient. Would recommend.
For our third stay at this hotel, we were part of a wedding group booking. Every aspect of the service we received at the hotel (from the front desk staff, to the guest services manager, to the housekeeping staff and the valet) was exceptional. Their goal was definitely to make sure arrangements went seamlessly, and we had a great experience. With so many dining options within walking distance, a hair salon on premises, and a location that allowed the people in our group to easily explore the area on foot or on the bikes provided, it was the perfect spot for a booking of this nature. As parents of the groom we booked an executive loft suite so that we would have the space for entertaining as well as a large terrace to enjoy. For this purpose it was ideal, however in hindsite, with a lot of people trying to get ready at the same time the day of the wedding there was a lack of privacy, with the bathroom, wardrobes and drawer space being located on the main level and the glassed in loft only containing the bed, and desk. The continental breakfast offered in the Azure Lounge was not included in our group price and the feedback from those who did try it was that it was a bit pricey at $22 per person plus tax and gratuity. Although we understand for security purposes why the room key is required for elevator access to your floor and the amenities on the second floor, it was inconvenient for those of us staying on the second floor that wanted to go to a guest’s room on the third floor. They could come to us, but we could not easily go to them! Considering the type of event it was, it also would have been nice to have a 15 min loading zone in the driveway area. There was a lot of dropping off, picking up, delivering of food and supplies etc for the wedding, and it was not feasible to have your vehicle parked every time you pulled up to the door. For the most part the valet was quite lenient with us, but it was not without getting the evil eye on more than one occasion. Overall, we received many compliments from the guests and were very happy that everyone enjoyed their stay so much! The general concensus was that it was definitely a place to return to if visiting the Vancouver area.
My wife and I loved Hotel Blu. Around the clock service, friendly and knowledgeable staff and a convenient location made this worth it. The room was spacious, comfortable and modern. The amenities were also top notch.
We stayed in a mezzanine suite (207) and the rest of the family in normal rooms. The rooms are tastefully appointed, clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful, no bar however, there’s lots nearby though. We didn’t eat breakfast here as there’s a lot of nice eateries up the hill just off Robson.
My family and I had a great stay as we prepared for a cruise out of the Port of Vancouver. This was semi-random selection that ended up being a memorable part of our trip. The room was super cool with the multi-level design, my kids thought it was novel. Front desk staff was super helpful, watching our bags, recommendations on what to see, and arranging travel to the port for the cruise. It was overall A+.
The staff was welcoming and helpful. Awesome aquarium in the lobby! The room was large and comfortable. The A/C was noisy when it cycled on and off, it didn’t bother me but might bother light sleepers. The hotel is in easy walking distance to Yaletown, Gastown, and the Arena.
We arrived in Vancouver early and were able to check in by about 11:00am. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were very clean and beautiful. The hotel is a fantastic location walking distance to great concert venues, shopping, restaurants and the water.
Excellent service and excellent location. Very clean, well presented, but would have liked a shower not a tub with a shower handle that tended to spray around the area of the tub while washing up……
The hotel itself is a nice, somewhat funky modern design on the corner of Robson and Cambie. Rooms were comfortable and clean, the one we stayed in being a loft suite with the bedroom upstairs. (Note!: To use the shower part of the tub, you have to pull down on the tub faucet ring – not intuitive!!) Nice workout room and pool, and also an easy to use business center PC & printer. The staff is not knowledgeable about local amenities as they couldn’t tell me where the nearest bank was to get cash, nor nearest public transit. The price of the continental buffet was $20/each person and in my opinion overpriced. Go across the street to Waves coffee shop.
What a find The Blu is; pleasant staff to start with, modern, secure, clean, quiet, great breakfast, well equipped gym with swimming pool and spa ( will use next time) and location. The Blue is on Robson Street minutes away from BC Place, Chinatown, Yale Town, Gastown, Queen Elizabeth Theatre and restaurants for all pocket books. I had a lovely bright room, super comfortable bed and a good night sleep after my Chinatown event.
Young Urban Professional is still not extinct! And Yuppie headquarters is Yaletown.
There’s money, cars, style, sophistication. When you walk down the narrow streets that used to be industrial loading docks transformed into now posh restaurants and boutiques.
Yaletown used to be the industrial heart of downtown Vancouver with numerous warehouses and loading docks. It was the end of the line for Canadian Pacific Railroad operations and the Yale line. It continued to be rundown for decades as an industrial hole until the 1986 Expo (world’s Fair) converted what was a destitute wasteland into the ultra-trendy neighbourhood, making it one of the biggest gentrification projects ever completed in North America. Seawall Map
Today, Yaletown is a ‘hood that is for the see and be seen crowd. This trendy enclave that sits on the north side of false Creek is a contrast of old and new. Warehouses that have been converted to chic stores, restaurants, bars, and cafes, offices and lofts are intertwined with modern architecture mostly providing condo living. On sunny days, the parks and green space pop up into makeshift ‘beaches’ as the ‘beautiful people lay in the sun. Watch the ballers walk by and enjoy the vibe, but make sure to bring your wallet as the best places to take it all in also cost a bit. Welcome to the good life.

It was a short stay but very nice rooms and great staff. Room setup was unique and the only issue was that you could hear hallway noise from the cleaning staff. Location was close to everything that we wanted.
Hotel Blu Vancouver Second Review
My daughter and I were in Vancouver for appointments and saw Hotel Blu on the internet and thought we would try it. We were not disappointed. The beds were super comfy, room was clean and provided everything we needed. We are back in Vancouver again for more appointments and we’ve already booked Hotel Blu for our stay.
We stayed at Hotel BLU with two little kids in January for one night and had a wonderful experience throughout our stay. The location was very convenient and there are lots of restaurants, grocery store and 7 eleven close by. Very friendly staff and we were very satisfied with our room. It has a modern decor and the latest technology, smart TV and tablet. We signed in our Netflix account on tablet and were able to watch movies on TV! I personally loved the fact that room has a microwave and slippers because a lot of hotels, those items are available by request. Very comfortable beds, yummy breakfast, decent size swimming pool and gym. We will definitely come back to this hotel and recommend to our friends and family!!
