Holiday Inn Vancouver Downtown

This hotel has rooms that accommodate 5 with 2 queens and a single bed. Location is ideal. Easy walk to Granville Island and Robson Street, etc. Cost was more reasonable. This hotel is very large. 3 elevator shafts and has a good pool and workout room. It would be difficult not to choose it again when in Vancouver.

Family of 4, stayed here two nights after an Alaskan cruise. Very convenient location- within walking distance to many restaurants and shops, as well as public transportation. Very helpful front desk, and also a concierge desk with helpful advice, maps, and directions. An unexpected bonus. Very small elevators (European size) but large rooms (American size), very clean, and yes, very small bathrooms. Small but deep pool, no hot tub. Mini fridge and coffee maker in rooms. Staff here was great, noise level is high between rooms and to outdoors (can hear traffic, sirens, etc). Would stay here again. FYI, breakfast is not free as it is in State’s Holiday Inns. Tim Hortons on every corner. When in Canada…..

This hotel is a great location for downtown Vancouver. It is close to city transportation, the staff is friendly, and the hotel is very clean. We stayed there prior to an Alaskan cruise since it is close to the sea port. The staff was very helpful to arrange transportation, assist in city tours, and recommend local activities and restaurants. They have a small restaurant on site that offers a decent breakfast buffet. They do not offer shuttle service from the Vancouver International Airport but taxi service is available at a fixed rate, our cost was 40 Canadian for 5 of us. Overall a great choice.

I booked 3 rooms and arrived at a busy time but was met by a very helpful and friendly reception (Liz). The rooms were quiet and clean. The hotel had a bar and food but was also close to Yaletown which has many pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. Nice underground parking. Will return for sure.

The hotel is in a great position and everything is easy to walk too. The rooms are lovely and spacious and the staff are also very helpful. The food from room service was top notch and super yummy. I would recommend staying here.

The Holiday Inn Downtown is a good hotel in a good location. The rooms are clean and tidy, the beds comfortable and the staff very attentive and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. A special mention to Tim the Barman and Lenny on breakfast service as they provided an exemplar level of service. My one and only gripe was that the bar shut at 10; however, given it was quiet at night and with the choice or bars/restaurants nearby that can be excused.

The hotel is very comfortable, good beds. The hotel is in a pretty good location. The restaurant, bar is average but service is very good. That makes up for average however nothing to complain about.
There is a very nice smoking area on the second floor of the hotel. Open air with table and chairs and should not bother non smokers because of its location.
I would recommend this hotel as it is excellent.

The hotel is under renovations at the moment but during a 3 day stay, we were not impacted by this at all. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and bright and modern. The food in the restaurant was also good.
The area the hotel is located in, albeit central to walk to Gastown, etc is a bit run down, this area of Granville street needs a LOT of work before visitors can window shop or pop into the many local restaurants. I hope for the hotel’s sake, the city starts working on this soon. Overall a pleasant experience though.

The hotel’s lobby was under renovation while I was there. Not very pleasant experience and nothing in the website at the time of booking indicated I was booking in a construction zone.

Nevertheless, I was given a room upon arrival in the morning and was able to rest after a long flight to Vancouver. The room had a balcony, which was nice. However the room was simple and with limited amenities. The cleaning staff made a lot of noise every morning, so sleeping later than 7:00am is not a possibility at this hotel.

Visited for one night. When I’m on a quick business trip I’m looking for friendly service, a comfortable bed, and a quiet room. This hotel provided all 3. The lobby was under construction, which unfortunately meant no business centre and a printer would have helped, but acknowledge this is just temporary and the renovations look good. If you need to be in southern downtown I’d recommend this hotel

The staff was great – friendly, helpful with directions, always available. The lobby renovation has been discussed – I was hoping they were taking the large sparkly sculpture out, but in fact they were installing it. Not my cup of tea… The room itself was just sad – fraying carpet, cracks in the tile, the washroom wood vanity has seen much better days… with that said, the room was very quiet and the bed OK. The free WiFi was pretty bad. We stayed over a busy weekend and paid a fairly high rate for the room, which we felt was not good value. Have stayed in much nicer properties for a better rate. I hope the lobby renovation was just the beginning and that the rooms themselves are next in line.

The front staff very polite and professional, the kitchen staff very hard working under the supervision of a pleasant young lady by the name of Juvy, keep up the good job. As you walk about this hotel in lobby or other areas of this establishment you very seldom see managers or supervisors, the front line workers usually deal with all customers.

Overall location was ok. Hoptel is located (Downtown) with alll the normal trapping when your downtown ! There is some nice pubs local for a beer and food, and be aware of yourself after dark. Normal level of seedy people around and homeless and all within arms reach

The staff was outstanding. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. We were going on a prearranged tour and the company gave us a wrong time for pick up; they arrived very early and I was eating. The other members were still in their rooms. The waitress quickly wrapped my food as I was trying to reach the other members of my party. She did so without my asking and I didn’t expect it.The desk staff called one room as I was trying the other and it all came together nicely thanks to the outstanding staff.
From the moment we entered the hotel we felt welcomed and valued. The location was convenient for the tours that we had planned and the neighborhood was not to busy.

The best location downtown you could imagine. Walking distance to Canada Place, to bars, shops, to train station for direct airport service.
Staff really helpful and friendly
Amazing views from the window You can open windows I even had a balcony-great!

The restaurant staff were so great- they were having fun and so were we. They were definitely the best thing at the location. The food was very good- especially the omelets! The rooms were clean and comfortable. And they were nice enough to provide us with an umbrella in our room- which sure came in handy!

Good: Staff is friendly. Service lady did a good job in organizing our room. Price is very reasonable. The location is great, short walking distance to a lot of shopping streets. About 10min walk to metro station. Bad: But the soundproof is the worst. I can hear people talking next door n across our room. They don’t change the bed sheet, so I had to leave a note to the service lady, but I still don’t see any crease, so go figure.

The hotel is in a good location with easy parking. The bar seemed nice but we didn’t have time to visit. The only reason I gave it less than five stars is because it needs to be updated. Clean, modest rooms.

We just came back from Vancouver and we had a pleasant stay in this hotel. Rooms are nice, modern and clean, beds are also good. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. In walking distance to the shops, restaurants and to the waterfront.

I stayed at this establishment 15-20 Jan whilst attending a training course which was held at the property. My first impression of check-in was great. I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful front desk receptionist who took care of my speedy check-in and answered all my questions about the surrounding area.

I was assigned to room 417, a standard king. The room was very clean and was equipped with a fridge, but no microwave. The king bed was one of the nicest I have ever slept on and despite its overlooking Howe Street, a very busy thoroughfare in Vancouver, it was extremely quiet. I measured the dB(A) and it came in at 32 (Average Quiet Whisper); no problem sleeping there for me!

Housekeeping was very good and never forgot an item, like towels, facecloths, shampoo, mouthwash, etc. I was particularly surprised when housekeeping came to my room at around 6:00 pm for a turndown service. You don’t see that very often these days at other hotels. It was a nice touch by IHG.

There is a small pantry in the lobby, as well as a business centre with printer and a restaurant. There is also a Tim Horton’s, Starbuck’s, Seven-11, Subway, Shoppers Drug Mart and an IGA, all within a 10 minute walk of the front door. Many restaurants and bars can also be found in the immediate area.

I did not eat in the hotel restaurant, but did enjoy many extra-large coffees which I purchased for $2.10 each there to take back upstairs to my course – they use Starbucks brand coffee.

The hotel has a pool and fitness centre, but I did not try either.

Check-out was very easy, in that my bill (with no errors) was placed under my door the night before my departure. The front desk called a taxi to the airport for me, and it arrived in around 5 minutes at 6:30 am.

Would I stay there again? Absolutely!

The only reason I did not award 5 stars to this property was due to the age of the building, décor and only two small, slow elevators in the main lobby.

I would like to thank the hotel management and staff for a great stay!

The staff are wonderful people. Room was great for what we needed. Within walking distance in downtown Vancouver to restaurants, theaters and clubs. Four stars for the staff.
I hope the idiot who stayed on Room 710 on November 19th. You are a rude angry drunk. You punched a hole in the wall of your room at least three times. Yes three times because I could hear you hitting the wall. I am surprised the door was still in the hinges in the morning after you banged and kicked it several times trying to get back in the room. You woke me up several times. I was ready to call the police on you, but my husband said ignore the stupid drunk. I hope you got stuck with a huge bill by the hotel and you are band for life from there.

Our room was on the 6th floor. Lifts are small and a little slow but worth the wait.
Lovely big room which was clean and has an opening door onto a small balcony.
Lounge, fridge, kettle, iron and board, king bed, comfy pillows, ticks all the boxes for me.
Room for bags and cases and has a reasonably priced restaurant in the foyer.
Walk approx 6 blocks toward the City and you’ll find a huge under ground shopping centre with nordstrums, Hudson Bay and plenty of small shops.
Great affordable breakfast too.

This is a return to this motel. As I have commented previously, the location is just fantastic. It is close to bus routes and close to restaurants and only a few blocks away from the shopping centers. The staff are very polite and very knowledgeable of the attractions to go and see and nothing is too hard for them to do. We stayed on the 6th floor and the view was north direction. The sunrises were just amazing. The room was very well appointed with tea and coffee facilities, fridge, iron and ironing board in the room The bathroom is also well appointed. There is a selection of pillows on the bed. There is a second floor garden open area with seating available. The pool and fitness center are well stocked and clean. There is a bar and buffet area on the main level as well as the information/ car rental desk. There is free Wi-Fi in each room and also in the lobby. The cleaning staff kept the room clean and well stocked and noting was too hard for them. The conference rooms were all booked during the time that we stayed here. If you not want to eat in the restaurant, there are plenty of other places nearby to eat.
Thanks to all the staff that made our stay here enjoyable.

We stayed in Vancouver for 5 days. Overall I have no complaints about this hotel. We got a great price per room on Hotwire. King room with large couch. Very comfortable. My only complaints are the same as pretty much every hotel: horrible pillows, weird room lighting, not the best shower.

Bonus: the pool is open 24 hours. It’s also heated to 85 degrees which is nice. Great location walking distance to a lot of Vancouver sites.
