My friends and I stayed here on our way back from skiing in Whistler. On check in we found that they did not have a twin room free despite it being booked. The check in clerk was quite surly and not very helpful. He told us there were no twin rooms available for our stay. We were instead given an ‘upgrade’ to a higher floor with one bedroom, but the room had a sofa bed instead of the second required Queen bed. This bed had not been made and did not have bed linen either. I telephoned housekeeping and was assured the matter would be dealt with. However on our return to the room later, I found that contrary to the bed being made up, a blanket, pillow and duvet had been thrown onto the bed. Very tired at this stage I telephoned for the duty manager. I couldn’t have had more different treatment. Allison the manager listened to my complaint and immediately moved my friend and myself to a twin room, sending someone to help with the move. Allison probably changed my outlook on the stay. She arranged and booked our excursion tickets, as well as arranging a taxi van to take my friends and myself – complete with 3 sets of skis and luggage – to the airport.
Despite this start, I enjoyed our stay immensely. The room was very well appointed and comfortable. The location was great with good access to the waterfront and a variety of restaurants and bars. Breakfast was very good and we were able to get a good bar meal in the hotel bar. Staff were on the whole very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you – with one exception- and I would consider this hotel again if I go back to Vancouver.
My wife and I stayed here for one night for a Canucks game. The rooms are up to date and clean. The location is within walking distance to all downtown shopping, dining and stadium. Front desk staff were very helpful in giving us directions and pointing out good places to eat.
In any business staff are what make it and Delta Suites Vancouver have exceptional staff. We have stayed at this location several times as a small break on our way to Whistler and have always found ourselves discussing how good the staff are. We will be back in 2018 and are looking forward to see how the room upgrades have gone.
The hotel is also ideally located in close proximity to Gastown and all other amenities offered by Vancouver.
We stayed in a 2 bed suite on the 18th floor. We did not have a view of the water, but it was still a nice city view. The room was spacious with a small sitting room (and TV) and a decent sized bathroom. They were just starting renovations on the hotel, but the room we stayed in was in decent shape although a little dated. The front staff was very helpful and friendly and we especially appreciated the warm cookies in the afternoon. The free WIFI was pretty strong for our room and I hear they will improve it with the remodel.
I really enjoyed the location which was just a few steps from Gastown – with lots of interesting boutique shopping and hip restaurants. We were able to walk to Roger’s Arena as well as shopping on Robson and the Sky Train.
This hotel is very well located, was affordable, and the rooms are nice. These things are great but the BEST part was receiving fresh baked chocolate chip cookies upon my arrival. I also received some of the best customer service at check in I have ever had at a hotel.
The hotel location is convenient for walking to various Vancouver neighborhoods. I like that it is a suite, with a separate bedroom and living area. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the complementary Apothia brand Wave shampoo and soap and have added it to my Christmas list. Staff was super friendly, even allowing me to check in as early as 9:30am – they must be used to cruise travelers embarking early. The hotel’s restaurant was ok – I had a steak sandwich and fries. But why settle for that when there are so many great ethnic restaurants in the city? The take-out pho restaurant that is on the lower level of the hotel was a delicious treat.
The Delta has exceeded our expectations once again! Every staff member went above and beyond to provide superior service. We instantly felt welcome and excited about our stay. They also provided a small care package for our 1 1/2 year old daughter. She was over the moon about her new books / bath toys. Excellent 5 star service.
The room was stunning and spacious and had an amazing view.
We can’t wait to return to this hotel or any Delta for that matter!!
Over last seven years, my wife and I stay in hotels about 110 nights a year mainly for business. We know hotels well. I was invited to speak at Factual West event on Nov 5 which is my birthday so a bit mixed on “working” for this weekend. But went for it. And oh my Lord, from the moment we checked in, no even further back, to unloading our luggage from taxi, to front desk check-in, the staff were so personable, and genuinely personable. We decided to pay $25 more for club floor room. The room was beautiful with patio/balcony plus benefits of lounge and their lovely staff, again genuinely personable. The next morning – my birthday – we went to breakfast at the restaurant where the staff Zoe and another nice person, because of Tamara, brought me breakfast dessert with candle and played happy birthday on phone, which was first for me all at the age of 55..Tamara is food-beverage head honcho and just as gracious as could be. Throughout the day, everyone in the hotel wished me happy birthday, even the housekeeping staff Janice and Elma wrote me notes! the next day front desk personality plus and funny as hell, Allison, offered a different tourism day than we were planning at the Fly over Canada exhibit. She was right. It was fantastic. We are definitely going back, before my birthday next year! A perfect birthday and over-the-top perfect stay. Thank you everyone!
The hotel was very nicely appointed and comfortable. The staff was helpful and polite. Jessica in particular was helpful as she made sure we knew our way around for dinner. It is conveniently located to all the attractions, the trail around the port, the conference center, and the Gaslight district. I highly recommend this hotel. It was nicely appointed, clean and quite
Spent two nights in a king room on the 9th floor. Arrived at the Hastings Street entry, accessing at the rear entrance is much better. Sleeping area was separate from the desk / seating area. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Had breakfast in the restaurant on the second floor, good service and food. Convenient downtown location close to amenities and a decent price for downtown Vancouver.
The hotel was very nicely appointed and comfortable. The beds are so comfortable. We had lovely river views. The only thing I would have loved to see would be proper coffee cups instead of paper ones.
The night views of the lights on the harbour are spectacular.
Consistently this has been one of my favourite hotels. The staff is the high point – courteous, caring and polite. They are what makes this hotel so good.
This Delta is very well maintained. I often check the stairwells which tell you a lot about an establishment and are often dirty and ignored. These are clean, painted and well maintained. The rooms reflect this.
Two in our party are celiacs. Any gluten contamination can result in either of them feeling like they got a case of the flu for two days. The food on the club floor was excellent and neither got “glutened”. The staff went out of their way to get gluten free bread and had a gluten free toaster so that these two could enjoy a wonderful breakfast.
My favorite hotel due to the outstanding staff. Close to Gastown, train station, Canada Place and all rooms are suites. If you are a frequent visitor and are on the Delta Privilege floors then the staff in the lounge are great and so is the food available there.
We loved this Hotel! Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and very spacious. The view from our room was gorgeous! Canada place is just about a block away. Very convenient for anyone that’s going on a cruise. We drove but you probably could walk to the terminal from the hotel.
We stayed here at the end of July. This is a very nice business hotel, and so close to most of the things that we wanted to see. “Where is the Gaslamp area?”, I asked. “Just go out the door, turn left, cross the street, down one block and you are there!”
The waterfront is only 2-3 blocks away, and Stanley Park about a mile. Perfect home base for a trip to Vancouver.
This is a really nice hotel. The location on the harbor is incredible. The service and the food were top notch. I would definitely return to this hotel. The hotel staff are very helpful. We booked a whale watching trip through them and their recommendation of this particular company was spot on.
We were traveling for a conference. My son, daughter in law and granddaughter. I had called ahead and reserved rooms close together as I would be babysitting each day. The staff at check in were very welcoming and had all the notes of our requests ready. They put us in rooms tucked into the corner, very easy to be together. The large size of the rooms were great. Maybe a little wear to the couches; a cleaning would be a good idea. The bathrooms are very spacious. The cleaning staff was very attentive and did a great job each day. The hotel is walking distance to the cruise port; Gastown restaurants and shops. Starbucks across the street from the valet entrance. The bar and restaurant were both very good. We had drinks and dessert in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant. A nice surprise was that “kids” eat free and they prepared a special little breakfast for the baby. Other reviews have mentioned street noise-I must say that even up on the 13th floor we were able to hear it. I guess in Canada the windows are not as noise proof as in the US…. not anything that was too terrible, but noticeable when the baby was napping.
All in all there is a staff that listens and cares, very important for when you are away from home.
Very good hotel in the heart of Vancouver, close to the amazing Gastown area with its shops and dining. The staff were great, particularly the housekeeping & restaurant. The hotel is close to the Skytrain station & is on or close to most major transit routes.
