Great location and really nice hotel. Very central and close to everything downtown. Across from the seawall which is perfect if you like to get outside. Also has a grocery store across the street which is super handy for quick breakfasts and snacks. I will definitely stay here again.
Went for a vacation for Halloween to stay with some long time friends I haven’t seen in years! Lakhsmi the manager had provided us with great information on the hotel and helped us get a better view and room for our stay. The service was emaculate and the staff were super friendly – definetly will come back again to stay at this sweet hotel!!!
We stayed in a room with the view of the harbor, Grouse mountain and a bit of the downtown (room 1811). The sunny weather favored us. The room was clean with all appliances in good condition. Moreover, our bathroom had heated toilet seat. It was definitely very comforting. We went to Gastown for dinner which was ~8mins cab-ride away. We enjoyed our one-night stay very much. We’ll come back again.
This property is very well maintained with modern decor. Rooms are generously sized and have desk, work space with comfortable chair. Location is central to restaurants and recreation. Easy five block walk to Waterfront train station for trip to airport.
I have stayed at the Coast Coal Harbour twice, and plan many more future trips to the property.
Conveniently located in Coal Harbour, just a ten-minute walk to Waterfront Skytrain Station and from Pacific Centre Mall, everything you could need is nearby. Lots of dining options are available just down the street. Prestons, the on-site restaurant, offers reasonably-priced delicious food, and both the morning and evening staff are friendly and welcoming.
The lobby is beautifully decorated; front desk staff are great; elevators require a room key, so security is good.
The rooms are definitely the feature of the hotel. You can tell it is a new property — rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. All rooms have a mini-fridge and bathrobe. Bathroom amenities have a great (mild) fragrance. I especially love the cute origami swans left on the bed, and the hotel recently installed Japanese-style toilets, which is an experience in itself. I’d suggest paying for an upgrade to a Superior room that offers a water view. Stunning!
Overall, the Coast Coal Harbour is a solid choice. An added bonus is racking up Coast Rewards points (I convert them to Aeroplan). Usually find that booking on their website is the cheapest way to go, plus you get those great loyalty point benefits.
Highly recommended; I’ll be back!
Not a luxury hotel, but clean and comfortable and modern. Beds were comfortable, but double not queen size. Pillows could be better. I am fussy about pillows. Bathroom was clean, modern, but lighting could be better, and the blow-dryer provided was not good. Great fitness facility and nice heated out-door pool and hot tub. Quick and efficient check-in and check-out and prompt valet parking.
Great location for shopping on Robson. Many great local restaurants and larger chains within walking distance. Coffee shops galore. Beautiful views and close to the waterfront for clean sea air in your lungs.
We were downtown attending a 40th birthday party, and were treated to stay at this hotel – we had adjoining rooms and had a good visit with our grandchildren – the restaurant ‘Prestons’ had happy hour and we were treated to really good service – breakfast the next morning was an interesting experience – the meal orders were taken with what appeared to be detail and precise – however, the delivery did not reflect the amount of attention to detail we thought we would get – eggs Benedict came without the eggs, and small mix-ups that appeared quite amusing – the convenience of downtown with a restaurant prompts us to visit again! There is room for improvement!
The Coast Coal Harbour is a very modern and comfortable hotel right in the heart downtown. You are just a few minutes walk from Robson St, the water front and Canada Place, Canada Line /SkyTrain and lits of shopping and great restaurants. The rooms are adequate size, clean, comfortable and modern. You will not go wrong with thus hotel.
I was here on business and the hotel is quiet, very good location if tending to business in the downtown area. If possible I would recommend a room with a balcony – wasnt put to use this trip due to weather however, I really like the option – very spacious balcony where you can relax in the “fresh” air…. such as it is in a city…. highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is filled with friendly and accommodating staff. I stayed for two nights and the front desk agent remembered my name and room number each time I went to the desk. The views from the upper floors were spectacular, the rooms were clean and inviting, the valets were prompt. I would definitely come back again. The only slight dislike I had was there was a valet-only option. Though the valet attendants were prompt, I wish I had the freedom to go to and from my vehicle at my leisure. Other than that, this hotel is everything I wanted.
This hotel is within a reasonable walking distance to the convention center. Love the route I chose to use had a bank along the way and a few (cheaper) eateries around various corners. Urban Fare is my stop! Had a nice view of the inlet and those beds … extremely cozy. Very enjoyable.
Ideal place to stay down on the front near to Canada Place, very central, had breakfast two mornings great selection plenty to eat very tasty, clean tidy, good sized rooms, we had a fantastic view out onto the harbour
Stayed two nights prior to an Alaskan cruise and was very impressed with the hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious with excellent facilities including electronic bidet toilet seat. Hot tub and pool were also very good, especially to unwind in after a long drive.
I really enjoy staying at the coast coal harbour and have stayed several times for business. It’s a great location in coal harbour and walking distance to the train and shopping in Vancouver. Comfortable and clean rooms and friendly staff.
I visited Coast Coal Harbour with some co-workers for business and the staff took great care of my team. Our nightly bartender, Ian, was amazing and even remembered us form 5-months prior. As we were racing from the airport to the hotel to quickly change for our presentation, we called to have a room ready for us and the front desk not only had a room but knowing we were running late, asked if we needed room service waiting for us. We could not have asked for any better service than what we encountered during this trip. Thank you Coast!
Our first ever trip to Canada and we started our 3 week road trip at this fab hotel . We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the holiday . A really nicely laid out room with lots of light , a massive telly, a huge comfortable bed and a really nice sized bathroom with a separate good sized tub and shower. The hotel is really centrally located and we walked to gas town, fabulous Stanley park and enjoyed the nearby restaurants and bars. One of the nicest things was the amazing breakfast in bed one the nicest breakfasts we have ever had. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent!! Great hotel – nice, comfortable beds – very clean – great location. Pool and hot tub were decent. I would definitely recommend the hotel; although, can be quite expensive in the summer months
I stayed at coastal coal harbor for 7 days and 6 nights and it was awesome. Centrally located near to Gastown, Canada place and train station. Staff was very helpful and had no issues with my room or the staff. You can’t miss breakfast at Prestons (its inside the hotel). Keep up the good work.
I found all of the staff I interacted with to be very friendly and pleasant. The rooms was a generous size and had a larger TV than most places I’ve stayed. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. Found the hotel to be quieter than most downtown hotels and, combined with the comfortable bed, enjoyed some good sleeps. Great location with a lot of amenities and great restaurants within a few blocks, this includes being very close to the seawall for walking/jogging. Definitely check out Bella Gelateria which is a few blocks away!
I spent four nights at the hotel and found the experience to be easy and straightforward.
Having purchased the room online at a very modest price, I was worried that the front desk might be a bit, uh, mischievous, when I checked in. Nothing could have been further from the truth. They gave me a fantastic corner room with a dizzying view of the city and they were generous with their time and recommendations.
On the first night, I ordered in some take-out, and someone from the front desk called and then accompanied the delivery guy to my room when my food arrived. Another time, they pointed me towards the local Urban Fare, a local upscale grocery store with hot/prepared foods only a block away.
The hotel was a wonderful combination of value, location, comfort and style. I’d stay there again without hesitation.
First time at the Coast and I would highly recommend.. Staff were excellent, room was very clean and comfortable and the location couldn’t be better. Prestons restaurant was good and affordable. The hotel is within walking distance of the sea wall as well as the trendy shops.
Everything we needed and a few extras too. The view was lovely. Happy hour food and drinks in Prestons were delicious. Friendly, efficient service at check-in and at the restaurant. The room is comfortable and modern. We walked all over from the hotel and did not need a car. Great stay!
The Coast at Coal Harbour is a reasonable option downtown. It’s got a good location, reasonably professional staff and progressive recycling in the room (hello compost bin!). However, the synthetic chemical scented amenities in the bathroom were a disappointment. My corner room on the 9th floor was quite noisy for traffic.
Great service from everyone at the hotel. Very clean rooms, hallways, elevator and reception area. Good internet speed. in room coffee was very good. Fitness room looked very well set up even though I didn’t have time to use it. Absolutely loved the heated toilet seats! Well done Coast Hotels.
We stay the Coast Coal Harbour when we’re in the city for overnight business. The rooms are nicely decorated, there’s valet parking and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Very convenient location for walks and access to city sites. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay in downtown Vancouver.
We stayed at this hotel for the BMO marathon weekend. It was in a great location, clean and comfy. I would recommend staying here. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our late checkout request.
