Excellent service, cleanliness, very comfortable beds, great location, highly recommend this hotel. We were on the 15th floor which offered a partial view of the harbour and mountains. We enjoyed a walk to Stanley Park, Robson Street, and along waterfront where the are restaurants and pubs with happy hour. Overall we had a wonderful stay.
I stayed at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel in Vancouver for three days in December. We were able to check in a bit early, which was great. My party had two rooms, and the hotel staff was thankfully able to get us two connecting rooms. The hotel is centrally located by the waterfront, shopping, restaurants, and more. We ate breakfast at the restaurant downstairs – Prestons. Breakfast wasn’t included in our hotel stay fee; we paid but it was good and there were some creative menu items available. Parking wasn’t included either – it’s about $30/day US. I was told the parking fee was pretty standard for the hotels in the area. Our rooms had a view of the water. One bonus was the heated toilet seats. Overall, I would stay here again if in the Vancouver area.
Stayed in room 1614 excellent view. Great accommodation even sent up dessert when we told them it was our honeymoon. They provided umbrellas which was a plus for us. Great stay. Restaurant is a great place if you can’t find anywhere close to eat. It’s located in anywhere great spot we walked to anywhere Lloyd the attractions. If you take public transportation the bus picks up on the other side of the hotel.
Very good location. Good staff, friendly and accommodating. I have stayed at this location a number of times over the past five years. It is my go to hotel for trips to Vancouver. I will definitely stay again.
This was a very clean, chic and glamourous hotel. I was on the top floor in a superior suite and while I didn’t have time for room service, the stay was still exactly what I was hoping for. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean and modern.
Great Location. I liked the scenic view from the room and how quiet the room was. The only thing I would say is that the price of the parking could be a little lower. The restaurant was very good and staff very friendly.
Excellent location especially for seeing New Years fireworks. Easy walking distance to shopping and Coal Harbour. We enjoyed our stay here. Did feel the room was very minimalistic for a 4 star rating.

The Coast Hotel Coal Harbor was a really nice place. Everyone was friendly and the view was excellent. Highly recommend this property. I was there for business and was really impressed. The room was clean and modern with a very comfortable bed and sitting area.
Perfect hotel everything you could need. Close to convention centre and Robson for shopping. Easy walking distance to Stanley Park and the aquarium. Next time I’m in the Vancouver area this will be the first place I look for accommodations.
We were totally amazed by the friendliness and thoughtfulness from Sheron at the front desk. We’ve stayed at many hotels but never had such kind and personalized service. We will absolutely be staying here again and hope to see Sheron!
Excellent experience, large room and could separate work from relaxation. Hotel staff were very accommodating and the complementary water and chocolates on the pillow were a nice touch. The hotel is within walking distance of downtown Vancouver’s shopping and night life.
The bed was very comfortable, we really like the layout of the room it was beautiful, the full window facing out over the harbour is really classy. All staff were friendly and helpful. The location is world class, we walked to a fantastic Mexican restaurant (La Casita) in Gastown.
Our extended family group of six began and ended our BC vacation at this hotel. It is primarily a business/convention hotel and the rooms are designed for that. It is set back from the waterfront and there are high rise buildings across the street, so most rooms, except some facing the harbor will not have a water view. The hotel has a modern flair with clean, contemporary design. We arrived in the middle of the night after a red eye flight from NY and were warmly welcomed. The rooms and beds were extremely comfortable.
We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Preston’s. It was good, a bit pricey, but this is downtown Vancouver after all, and service was slow and leisurely. Upon our return at the end of our trip we had a dinner there, too. The food was delicious. We opted for a large booth in the back as it was very quiet; a bit too dark, but a good place to dine if you really want to talk and visit over your meal. The wait staff was always attentive and pleasant.
Also on our second visit my husband and I asked for a different room because we needed more room to repack. Other than the small folding luggage rack, there was no place to put a suitcase. The desk clerk came up herself to show us another room. She upgraded us to a front room with a nice view of the harbor that was also big enough for two big chairs with ottomans…perfect for our repacking project.
Our last day there we asked for an extended check out since our flight wasn’t until late that night. We were able to use our room quite a few more hours and that was extremely helpful. In all our party had three rooms and this one was big enough for us to hang out in until check out.
The hotel is walking distance to the waterfront, shopping, Canada Place, etc. The first morning our boys took a run through Stanley Park
The title says it all. We selected the hotel based on other reviews we’d read, and we’re so happy we did! The location is fabulous, and we can’t say enough about the helpful staff, especially the front desk team, and Guest Service Ambassador Laks in particular. The room are nothing terribly fancy, but very clean, and the beds were heavenly. We’ll definitely return.
My husband and I went with my daughter, son in law and two grandsons. We did the full city tour the first day which was perfect. It was all set up for us by the front desk staff at the Coast Coal Harbor hotel. They helped us with dining and other tours we took. Awesome! The hotel was in the perfect walking location for the harbor and dining. Would recommend it to anyone. Oh yes went whale watching, wow!
We had a great stay at The Coal Harbour Hotel recently. We loved our room and the view of Stanley Island. We highly recommend hands down. You will not be disappointed. We’re looking forward to returning in November.
I enjoyed my stay, spacious rooms with a very large desk .There is a small partition of the window that opens which is nice to get some fresh air. Large window which is nice! Staff are very courteous.
My friend and I arrived in Vancouver early to board a cruise ship and chose to stay at this hotel based on reviews. The location, close to the harbor, was great and a short walking distance to restaurants, good beer, a wine shop and pharmacy. We took the scenic harbor walk over to Stanley Park which might have taken about 20 minutes and also just sat along the harbor watching the sea planes take off and land. Gorgeous spot. Our hotel room was spacious and spotless with comfy beds and pillows. Staff downstairs were eager to please and answered all questions we had about dining places, etc. plus checked with us upon our return to see where we’d ended up. We’d stay there again.
I was here on business. Honestly I only stayed bc the form I was attending was held in the hotel but I was very happy. It has many amenities. They are also earth conscious as well, which I like. The rooms are also very comfortable.
What stood out to me the most was the gym/pool. They have an outdoor pool/hot tub that I used one night after doing a city tour all day. I was beat! The hot tub was great! The next morning I used the gym which was surprisingly well appointed. Many treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, weights and machines to use and it still had room to do lunches and yoga. It’s nice to see a real gym in a hotel, not simply an old room with a treadmill in it lol.
