We stayed there for 3 nights. Really great service. Room was big and specious. Also it was modern room meeting current normal standards. There were window walls around the room, drapes can be opened for bright light and it provides comfy stay. Loved the design of the room. I wish the bathroom could have been upgraded.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION…is the key for this place. Its in downtown hub (Robinson street). You can ring all the shopping and dining options of downtown there. Many great options around there (Had an amazing Malaysian food there). There is free bus right from the hotel door to major attractions (suspension bridge, stanley part, gas town, etc…)

As you already figured it out, this hotel is in a fantastic location: It’s so easy to take the train from the airport to the Burrard Station (about 30 min ride) then walk to the hotel from the train station, about 10 minute walking distance.
The hotel is also located in a very busy Robson street where there are many places to shop, dine, hang out in all directions. The Stanley Park, Gas Town, Canada Center are all walking distance if you like to walk/ hike. And it’s a lovely walking city that feels fairly safe even during the evening. You still have to be security conscious and be street smart of course.
The hotel is very clean, and well maintained. As a matter of fact, they were doing construction when we visited during the holiday. It did not bother us because the noise is usually around 9am-5pm and we are mostly out during those hours. If you will stay in the hotel room a lot then don’t stay here. The bed is very comfortable. I did not like the pillows. They are too squishy.
Despite that it is along Robson Street, the noise outside did not bother us. They must have an awesome insulation. I’d definitely stay here again.
The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. .

We Actually stayed in August of 2015. Sorry to be so long in writing this review. I will start my applause with the manager. We had been booked on a lower floor. As it was my wife’s and my 40th anniversary I asked if we could possibly have a room on a higher floor. All the rooms have balconies and the view is terrific. The manager went to some trouble, which he did not have to do, and we were given a room with a beautiful view of the city and the bay. He and the entire staff were always so helpful. the rooms are larger than you would expect. Very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in a fabulous location! It has a great little restaurant in the lobby that served a wonderful breakfast. Absolutely delicious, and the waitresses were courteous and hard working. The Blue Horizon has it all! A friendly and helpful staff, fabulous location, large and very comfortable rooms and a great little restaurant. Without question, we are huge fans!

A group of 6 people stayed here 4 years ago and it was the best hotel we stayed in over a period of 5 weeks. Most comfortable beds AND pillows. Very large rooms too.
A great location, with walking distance to many places.
We will be staying there again on our next trip to Vancouver.

We were very happy with this room (1402 I think). Overall it was fantastic. The only draw back was the pink tub, the rest of the room/bathroom had been beautifully updated, however the tub was clean so it didn’t bother us. The shower did lack some pressure, we believe it may have because we were showering at a very busy time. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable and the view was fantastic. The location was within walking distance of the Rogers Centre and shopping and some fantastic restaurants. The front desk staff were polite and efficient. We even had one of the staff check in with us after we had checked into our room to see if everything was in order – a first for me. The one thing I think the management could do better (and it’s a simple thing without any cost attached) is leave the drapes open in the room. We had a corner room with fantastic city views, but when we came into the room, all the drapes were closed and the room felt dark. I think if they left them open, when you walked into the room and the first thing you saw was the view, you would be wowed. coming back 100%

My wife and I are both from Vancouver, but no longer live there. We travel back often to see family and friends and always stay at some of the higher end hotels downtown, of which there are many. This trip we looked for an alternative, like a Boutique Hotel or Bed & Breakfast. Both of us are hospitality industry veterans so we like to explore.

While looking online I stumbled on to the Blue Horizon which we both know well, but I was unsure as it is an older property. I looked at the pictures and was surprised at the new look of this older Robson St landmark, so we took a chance.

WOW! What a fantastic make over of this property. A wonderful contemporary look has brought the hotel new life. There is an excellent restaurant/cafe in lobby now called Abode, it is full service or just a coffee.

The Front Desk staff was friendly and super attentive, this was our 20th anniversary and they made sure that we were taken great care of. The location is PERFECT, as it is walking distance to some of the best restaurants, the waterfront is a 10 minute walk to Coal Harbour or you can jump on the bus that stops out front (which is free BTW #5/6) that circles the downtown area. There is a liquor store around the corner as well as an Urban Fare grocery store.

The rooms are a good size, with great new decor, comfortable beds, good linens and great pillow selection. The rooms have balconies which I like, because l like to open my window to get the sea air. We had a great view of English Bay and the West End, which is really spectacular day or night. Our bathroom still had the old bathtub, but if that is going to turn you off a hotel, then you’re better off spending $500 a night some place else. My understanding is that they are still in the process of renovating bathrooms, and are close to completion.

We had the best stay we have had in Vancouver in years at this hotel and will be going back VERY soon, it is our new home away from home when in Vancouver! Thank you to the staff of the Blue Horizon for a great Anniversary Weekend!! SEE YOU SOON!

I was not familiar with this brand of hotel. It was booked by a family member so we followed suit. The check in process was very smooth and we got some great local recommendations from the staff. We asked for an upper floor- and we ended up on the 29th which was fantastic. This hotel offers nice views the higher you go. There are ample windows and I think all rooms have a balcony. Nice and bright. Very comfortable bed and a good size bathroom. No magnifying mirror.
The Adobe restaurant in the hotel was very good. We had several breakfasts and happy hours here. Nice bar to grab a drink in before heading out.
The hotel is located on Robson Street- there are plenty of great restaurants close by and of course loads of shopping. Some points of reference: Stanley Park is a 10 min walk as is the harbor. Yaletown is 20 min walk. Nordstrom is 7 blocks away. I think our room was roughly $200 U.S per night which we thought was very good value.

We’ve stayed here twice. Our first visit 3 years ago was so good we decided to return to the Blue Horizon and it was as good as we’d remembered. I liaised with Dee Montero in Reservations and her customer care was excellent.
The hotel itself is in the perfect location – near a fantastic selection of cafes, bars and restaurants serving good food. The hotel restaurant – Abode – also serves better food than most hotels and is reasonably priced. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient and housekeeping is of a high standard. Rooms overlooking Robson Street have great views of the city down to Stanley Park – higher floors have the best vantage points.
Our stay here was exactly what we wanted – great location, excellent accommodation, good value and friendly service. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Stayed for 3 nights. Location is good for moving around with many shops and eateries around. The staff at reception were helpful too.

I was a little taken aback though as I have never been to a hotel with such narrow corridors. Our room was only 2 steps from the lift landing. However the room was a very good size. Was originally on 3rd level but managed to make a switch to a room on 12th level the day after check-in.

Overall it’s okay for a couple of days’ stay.

The little Adobe restaurant in the hotel had good food. We took public transportation and walked around the area and window shopped at all the high end stores

We arrived after our Alaska cruise. Our room was ready for us at 10 AM – a real bonus. And we were upgraded to a lovely suite on the 4th floor with a balcony overlooking the front busy street. But it was quiet when the door was closed. There was a baggage storage so we could visit the city on our last day before catching the red-eye flight back to MI. The staff was friendly and helpful.
